    Dani works at the front desk and she provided great customer service. Reza is the waitress and she is fast & efficient. Both provided impeccable service! They have a great team of people. Food is excellent as usual. Been a customer for for a long time.

    Kaylee provided exceptional service and was very helpful in guiding our choice of menu items. Initially we were seated next to a very large, noisy table and the staff quickly moved us to a quiet booth when we asked for a quieter location.

    Excellent food, terrific server. I have celiac disease, and really appreciated the care everyone took to make sure my (delicious) food was safe to eat. Highly recommend.

    We literally saw a mouse run across the floor during our meal and brought it to their attention and they acted like it was no big deal. Food was mediocre and not worth the mouse sighting.

    I hadn't been to Minami for a few years. The previous time was wonderful, but based on this experience, it feels like they're cheaping out. It doesn't have the feel of a higher end restaurant. Ambience is lacking, lights are too bright, seating feels like pleather... very plasticky. Sake is served in wine glasses? Food was tasty but overall experience didn't meet my or my guests expectations. I won't be back.

    We had the tasting menu, which was excellent. We got there early to have a drink at the bar, the bartender didn’t even acknowledge us and we were right in front of them. Got seated, server came over an edge minutes later to ask about our water choice. Disappeared for a bit and then finally came to ask if we wanted drinks. That was our experience with him throughout the night, just never around to ask if we wanted more drinks and no one really explained the tasting menu to us but the food was excellent. When we were done I had to go into coach check to get out umbrellas and jackets because no one was around to offer. A staff member saw me in there and never even asked if I needed help I’m a very service oriented person so I will not be returning no matter how good the food is. The experience made us feel like we got no value for our money.

    Your hostesses/front desk staff does not greet or welcome guests. They wait for you to approach and speak first, which is totally different from the reception guests get from your servers. At least, this treatment has been consistent throughout the years. We requested a quiet area because one of us is hard of hearing. We were first seated in the direct centre of the dining room with booths on the one side and kitchen on the other. When we asked for another quieter table, the hostess reluctantly went to check. They sat us at a table in the back room which was quieter but directly under your multiple air vents blowing cold air from all directions. At this point, we did not want to make a fuss but we were cold throughout dinner and wore our jackets. If someone asks for specifics due to a disability, please ensure you respect their wishes. This was my daughter's 25th birthday and we specifically chose you but sadly, other than the food, it wasn't a great experience.

    It's been four years since I last came here, and Minami restaurant's service is outstanding. It's a great experience, perfect for enjoying drinks and conversations with friends, and the food is delicious too.

    This place was overly staffed, buzzing like bees. We felt anxious and ununconfortable. Annoying hyper wait staff. Other patrons dressed in tshirts and dirty sweat pants. Very loud. It felt like a cafeteria.

    Although the food was delicious, unfortunately the service was not up to par. I’ve dined here several times, and chose to take some friends who were visiting from out of town. I ended up regretting taking them here. We waited 15 minutes for our reserved table to become available, no one took our drink order or introduced the menu to us. The food took forever once we ordered, and overall we didn’t feel the experience was worth the price.

    If it wasn't for the noise I would rate this five stars. The food is outstanding and the service is accommodating yet not intrusive. But why on earth do they need to play the music so loud that with all the chatter in the room trying to overcome the music it's next to impossible to have a conversation at the table except with the person sitting right next to you.

    Sushi was very good. Octopus was amazing, might shred the roof of your mouth though with the breading. Beef carpaccio was one of the best plates of the night, I’ve never had it that way so it was nice to see and taste. The trio was also top tier and very inventive. All dishes had amazing wares and presentation was beautiful. Service was great and knowledgeable. Not overly decorative but very clean and sleek space. Noise level is that of a normal restaurant, we saw parents with infants and noise level did not seem to disturb the infants. Parking is like anywhere in Vancouver, find a spot if you’re lucky and pay to park. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

    The food at Minami is thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented and the sushi is sublime . It is a wonderful place to experience Japanese cuisine. You pay dearly for it, but it is well worth the price .
