Amazing restaurant, always a treat. every time I go i meet new and interesting people from all over. the conversation is fabulous. the chef 's are amazing cooking and entertaining you, while they cook your food right in front of you.
Our first time here was very memorable. We had a great time and we loved the food ! The service was a little slow with refills but other than that absolutely no complaints.
One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Food was terrible, chicken was undercooked, I made the manager aware and he took $3.00 off the bill. Last time I’ll ever visit.
This was the 4th time at Beni Hana this year and I chose it for my birthday. The 4 of us were seated w/ a father and his 2 boys. We had an amazing time! All of us had something different, mostly the lunch duet or only filet and only chicken. Each of us felt our meal was the best. My filet was very tender and perfectly done med.rare; my chicken was tasty and tender. My friend loved her calamari and shrimp. Our husbands were extremely happy with their meals, too. Glenn thought his Filet was the best he'd had, both for the flavor and size of filet for the price. Although my husband is a picky eater, he liked the large portion of chicken and chicken-fried rice.
The children seated at our table were, also, frequent diners at BeniHana, eating all the different foods while wearing their chef's hats and well behaved. We commented to their father how nicely behaved his boys were, obvious to us as children at 2 other tables were running around and spilling food. It was clear to us which parent had ensured good manners.
it took forever to be seated I had a party of 6 and I wanted a table just for us because it was my girlfriends birthday party but that didn't happen at all.
I have been going to the Plymouth Meeting Benihana since 2009 and this most recent trip was definitely the best dining experience among many wonderful past experiences. The food was fantastic and our chef was so very entertaining. We can't wait for an opportunity to get back for another visit.
Service and food were okay. I’m not new to places like Benihana, so I wasn’t wowed by anything they did. Only thing I didn’t like was that I left there still feeling hungry. The portions were small that I personally received. It’s still worth recommending to others who would be thrilled to see the show.
It’s fair there. We did have a good server. Chef was ok. Prices a little high for amount of food.
Like most Benihana locations I have visited, this one was excellent. The food is great and, especially at lunch time, well worth the price.
Food is always good. Service was meh. restaurant was very dirty, food all over floor
From the moment the chef came out, our dinner became very awkward. He looked really upset about something, never smiled and was in a hurry to leave. I’ve been going there for several years and I’ve never had a chef not engage the way he did. He didn’t even finish off his show. Then on top of that, the waitress came by with takeout containers after we just started eating. Everyone at the table were clearly not anywhere done, but she asked who wanted takeout and desert. I. Will not return to this location
It was a bit dirty and the experience was underwhelming. It was for my sons birthday and wasn't impressed with attitude of staff. The food was mediocre and chef we had looked bored. Nothing special. Would recommend Ooka anyday.
First time there. The food was great. Everything our party had was cooked correct to our order. The chicken was the most tender I've had anywhere. The meal took 2 hours. We waited almost 30 to 45 minutes to get our salads and soup. It was very busy. The only problem I can see is, not enough cooks, that's what the long wait.
good enough for what it is- it was pretty lively, basic and good show/service
The food and service is always good here. I love their sushi 🍣 too.
I loved our chef Juan.
Food was delicious. Our chef this time was excellent and did a whole bunch of new tricks. Great for birthdays.
My daughters greatly enjoyed the presentation, the entire family loves the cuisine.
We have a fun time celebrating a birthday at Benihana Plymouth Meeting. Our Chief Juan was a delight and our party of 7 loved his attention and cooking skills! We will definitely come back.
Great server! Excellent cook! Wonderful personality! My daughters 13th birthday was a wonderful success!
It was the first for the other couple and they enjoyed it very much. It was our anniversary.
What a great experience for a place we had never heard of before. Great food with a complete 5 course meal reasonably priced, and having the chef cook right in front of us was very entertaining. Since it is communal in that they try to fill the table of 8 with other guests, you should realize that you may be sitting with strangers if you are going on a date or for an anniversary.
Our chef Tenzen was entertaining and the meal was best I had yet at Benihana. It’s always an enjoyable dinner out but the service and food this time was outstanding!
Table in the bar was sticky and the ladies room was in terrible shape. Food was delicious but I won’t be back.
Our waitress was amazing! The chef who prepared our food was very lack luster and didn't do all the normal things that are fun and the reason why people go to hibachi in the first place. He took FOREVER to cook our food to!
The chef was great. Our waitress was terrible. She forgot several items, including an appetizer. We were four adults who were seated with a couple and 2 children - the chef made sure the kids were taken care of first, which is fine, but I would’ve rather been seated with all adults because of kids our meal took way too long. The shrimp appetizer was very scarce as it was split with the kids that didn’t eat shrimp.
Very entertaining!!! The food was great and others at the table was great to chat with. Food and service was on point!!
Where do I start?!? The dishes were dirty, I had to send back 2 plates and the new plates were dirty as well. So I then went plate surfing table to table and even that was bad. I then went to the bathroom and got paper towels to clean our plates. Onto placing our order. We asked for chicken fried rice with shrimp. The additional shrimp being $2. Fast forward to the bill. The bill arrives and it includes $8 for additional shrimp. We speak with the waitress she says oh I thought you wanted additional shrimp with your entree. How could that be possible when we were ordering fried rice not an entree? Ok. She then says well he gave you 8 shrimp. If he did sure didn’t look like 8 shrimp, however that’s not what we asked for. Manager comes and he wants to tell us how to order fried rice in the future to avoid a problem. No sir what you should be doing is owning the mistake of your waitress. Of course he did not. It won’t be a next time. Oh did I mention that was a week ago. I am just getting my point.
My wife and I have been to Benihana a few times and always enjoyed the food and service. We were surprised, therefore, at the lack of attention and the dramatically increased price. Benihana used to be a place I recommended people go for a fun evening. Now, I cannot.
I love coming here never a disappointment. Food is good and everyone is nice and pleasant.
We specifically mentioned it is 1) our 1st time & 2) a special occasion, with the hopes that restaurant would attempt to consider that. They did not, and we were seated at the farthest back-back table, facing the exit door. Ocean’s Treasure was a gem for me, non-meat eater; our choice to share it was not accommodated, however, which Was preposterous I admittedly felt envious of the other couple we were seated with’s veggie fried rice. Brown rice is available, though not losted on menu. Alcohol consumption is encouraged (classic up-selling), but my signature margarita was not delicious. Vegetarian sushi was phenomenal, though the fried veggie (blankig on the style name...) appetizer was just unglorified onion rings. That all being said, Benihana’s is the real treasure! I think it’s definitely a great experience to share with anyone, frankly, and hope that the management may become more cognizant, when there are “notes.” And remember that it may be any customers 1st time. Don’t let the shticks fade. Give the Maestros name tags. Offer picture-taking, as is clearly encouraged at other locations, after having seen the website. Chopsticks 🥢 could be Benihana-branded, and “keepable...” or sellable! But I digress; thanks to Open table, for asking!
Benihana is our go-to place for an amazing night out. It is a bit of a drive for us, but it is totally worth it. The food is amazing and we always go home satisfied.
Ugh! Never again will I go here. The food was so incredibly bland. They don't tell you they're going to upcharge you for brown or chicken fried rice - they just make it seem like an option. I've just never had such unflavorful hibachi cuisine - I was shocked. The server was OK - I guess she was trying. Also think you should ban cell phones from the hibachi tables - 6 out of the 8 people at our table were on them - one of them actually even talking loudly - so much so that it took away from the whole experience. But really - it was the bad food that will keep me from returning.
Food was very small in portion and super over priced not worth the value finish my plate in about 12 minutes.
I like the show and preparation of the meal right at the table. However, I do not recommend having a party of just 4 like we had or else you get seated with strangers. Some people might like that, but I like just being with the people I invited.
The bartender sold us on happy hour specials and then told us happy hour had ended after making the drinks. $20 later for 2 drinks, we went to our table. A sushi roll was forgotten and the floors generally were sticky. It was an unfortunate experience for the celebration we were hoping to have.
Great food, friendly staff and guests. Highly recommend!
Broken air conditioning on a 90+ day - very sticky (carpeted floors) - dirty bathrooms - server slowwwwww! Not my first time going there but def won’t be going back! Going down hill
Everything was great except that we were a party of 2 and were sat with a family of 6, grands, parents and small children. Probably better to come with your own group instead of being sat with other groups.
