Benihana Ontario had great portions better than most. Chef Wayne is totally professional, funny and made sure everyone at our communal table was happy with their dinner. Great cook, very enjoyable.

Let’s just say none of the workers seemed to not want to be there. Presentation was poor, and lots of up charge on items. One I saw on menu was chicken dinner was $42 and if you don’t want it dry it’s $3 more for teriyaki sauce. 😂 The place is not like it used to be. Sad…

The restaurant was extremely hot as the air conditioning was on low. My wife asked them to set up a fan. The chef seemed very inexperienced as he didn’t divide the portions evenly at all as it was my birthday, and sat there watching him fork out good portions to the guests and each time giving me the last of each portion which was way less than anyone else.The rice was undercooked with not enough soy sauce and he had burnt rice practically all over the grill which was a true mess. The chef needed more training in his cooking skills.

We experience poor treatment by the cook and the average time of wait from the time we got seated to the time the actual cook began our meal. We arrived at 4:05 PM, had reservations for 4:30. We got seated at 4:35 at the south end of the restaurant Tappon cooking table. We waited about 15 minutes (4:50 PM) before we were offered water or anything to drink. At this time we noticed that the suction vent had which collects the cooking smoke had build up of oil which was dripping onto the cooking area. The party on the right side from us pointed it out to their waiter and they were immediately moved. We then waited an additional and additional 15 minutes, now 5:10 PM, at this point they take our order and bring us drinks and appetizers. At 5:35 PM the chef arrives and begins cooking and his Benihana’s show. He cooked for our entire party of 9 making an additional small cup of fried rice; when asked what he was going to do with the rice, he rudely responded, “I’m going to eat it!” The section in the south end of the restaurant also lacked ventilation and the area was incredibly warm and uncomfortable. At the end of our meal, we mentioned that we where celebrating a few birthdays and a college graduation. I have no idea why they asked about celebrations if they did not even acknowledge the graduate or birthday individuals. If you have ever ate at Benihana’s you know that it’s a bit pricy. Our tab was about $1,000 and the service, food, ambience, and attitude of the chef where unwarranted. I honestly will never be back aster years of being a faithful customer. It’s apparent that the restaurant is under new management and staff, the location is dirty, cooking area unfit for health reasons and the lavatories extremely filthy and unsanitary. I never write negative reviews, but honestly if you can spend your time and money at another restaurant, please do so, this place is no longer up to standard or even maintains a sanitary level for one’s health.

They overbooked our Father’s Day reservation and were 1 hour behind. Then we were sat and the server completely forgot our order of drinks and we had to physically walk up to the manager and ask for our order again after waiting 20 min. The also hit our food order wrong and we had to wait for them to bring more rice and shrimp to cook. Great food but Overall it was a very bad service experience for Father’s Day.

Reserved a table and had to wait an hr and the ladies at the front desk were rude. We got sat and waited another hr until the chef came out. Food was good just horrible service.

We, like most of the other parties at this location, had booked reservations in advance because of the Fathers Day holiday. Upon arrival most guests were told there would be anywhere from 45 mins to over an hour wait before being seated. Multiple parties including myself questioned the manager as to what was the sense in booking an advanced reservation if we would still be made to wait for up to an hour or more. We were told by a manager, that the blame is on "Corporate for intentionally overbooking". Many customers were angry and frustrated at this admission by Benihana that they were intentionally overbooking in order to pad their intake receipts. I'm not sure if I ever want to go back to Benihana again based on this attitude. My party was one of the lucky ones in that we were finally seated after waiting 45b mins. Others were not so fortunate in that some people I spoke with who had advanced reservations had been waiting for over an hour to be seated!
