   Fado wasn't open so we had to scramble to find a reservation nearby. Please take the restaurant off your reservation list so other people don't have the same issue.

   Fado has been a favorite restaurant for a number of years. It was great to be able to sit outside on a summer evening and enjoy their fish and chips, which is my favorite entree there. I also enjoyed sharing a big pretzel, wine, and a fudge brownie with ice cream with a friend. The service was excellent, adn the server was very courteous and friendly. The only thing to know about sitting outside there, which I always like, is that sometimes emergency vehicles go down Clark Street, making it a bit noisy for a minute or two.

   We had a wonderful dinner prior to the Chieftains concert. The Irish food was great and set the stage for a fantastic evening of Irish music.

   Love this place. Went with a larger group and the service didn't miss a beat. The food is great and they had free whiskey samples the night we were there. Nice touch. Will definitely be back.

    Fado is such a great place to hang after work with friends. Plus, the food is unbelievably awesome. We had the fish tacos - which had this perfect combo of fresh fried fish and crunchy slaw, and the jalapeno cheese bites were such a guilty pleasure and so much better than the standard "poppers" fare. It's an Irish pub with food fit for a true epicurean. Oh - and the happy hour whiskey sours were delish!

    The burgers were better than the Shepherds pie. Menu selection of Irish food was sadly lacking. The staff was very friendly and the ambience was typical for and Irish pub, vibrant and friendly. My suggestion for the restaurant is to add a larger selection of Irish entrees to the menu.

    I have yet to get to Ireland and experience a real Irish pub, but I imagine that Fado comes real close. We sat at the bar, even tho we had reservations, and were greeted by the bartender, Allison, and I have never been greeted with a handshake at a bar before. That alone let me know it was going to be a good experience. The Guiness' were poured perfectly and of course were delicious. We had a couple of appetizers and a reuben sandwich. All good. We enjoyed our time at Fado. The ambiance was great. Definitely will be back.

    Staff courtesy was the worst part of the visit. Food and atmosphere were good but not as great as advertised. Was hoping to have a great "Irish in Chicago" experience but was disappointed.

    We enjoyed a lovely meal (corned beef and shepherds pie....our comfort food) and pre and after dinner drinks. Relaxed friendly atmosphere and excellent service by a bubbly enthusiastic waitress....sorry can't remember her name but whe was awesome. Will definately return when visiting Chicago again in the near future.

    The service was excellent and the food was great. Best burger I've had in forever. Being very sensitive to gluten the lack of options were quite noticeable but the server was knowledgable and quite helpful in finding me options. We came for my husband to have the fish and chips and he absolutely loved it. We will be back. We just wish their gluten free options were slightly more extensive.

    Had a good dinner at Fadó. Service was excellent. Summer pub menu was limited in traditional Irish pub menu items. Everything was excellent. Having just been in Dublin made for a tough comparison.

    Fado made sure our table for six was waiting at the reservation time. Mary-Kate and Laura were great servers. Very attentive and amusing. All our group had a great craic.

    Quick visit to Chicago for the U2 show. Always stop at fado! One of our favorites, as we stay within walking distance. Had a great time, as always! Riley was our server... he's a blast! Attentive, funny, easy going. He got a great tip! We called him Randy O'Reilly! Ha! Tell him the Milwaukee u2 crew says hi!

    My reservation asked for the quietest possible seating for two. We were greeted with a delightful table on the landing near the (apparently unused) elevator. Was it perfectly quiet? No. But this is an Irish pub, so you can hardly expect that. It was definitely the quietest corner around. I was thrilled to find a Red Breast 12 year old pure pot still Irish whiskey on the menu. But saddened to learn they were out. :( Everyone has shortages from time to time. What makes or breaks an experience is how you recover. Mary-Kate (our server) brought the sad news along with a taster of Green Spot -- about the closest comparable thing you can find in the market to the whiskey I ordered. Unfortunately, it's not really to my taste. Her next visit also brought Shane (the manager) bearing multiple other offerings for me to sample and select from. We chatted and he delivered yet one more selection after a few moments. They found an option to satisfy my ridiculously picky palate and did it with a smile. Then our food began to arrive. Fried goat cheese with jalapeno honey as an appetizer. Light and tasty and just the way you would like it. The shepherd's pie was above average -- while the accompanying kale and barley side salad was phenomenal! My wife's salmon risotto made with barley was similarly raved about. We finished off with a Guinness ice cream sundae. A great date evening and will definitely go again!

    Television volume way too loud. Could not have a conversation with our business associates. The Guinness was a little flat. We only ordered appetizers which were nice but nothing to write home about.

    The food and drink specials were great, but my friends and I were seated in a corner of the restaurant next to a large table of people who were very loud, and the table was awkwardly placed. When walking around the restaurant the rest of it was noticeably quieter.

    AWESOME EXPERIENCE : Read why. Reserved table via open table. Reserved table was on stairway to the upstairs. Not ideal or workable for our intended special night out. I walked both upstairs and downstairs for options. Staff immediately allowed my choice to facilitate table location switch - that turned out to helped create the most amazing 3 hours I've had in 30 years. Vibe, customers, music, atmosphere, helpfulness of EVERY member of the staff we encountered was 10 - on a 1-10 scale. Candidly, everything was perfect, when I needed it to be perfect. Location, Staff, Atmosphere, Simple menu was wide ranging but not overwhelming. Food was great, and our server was a discreet, fast moving, professional, attentive excellent representative for this business operation. Oh, also, pricing was more than reasonable. This is a MUST visit and try for any Chicago area outing. Thanks Tim/Jane TeamUS ! FYI: for management; our table was upstairs, corner table/booth by front window and faux fire. 7pm-945pm Sat 1/28/17 Please tell our awesome waitress we said hello & THX !

    In Chicago for a wedding and were staying not to far from there. They accomidated my mother in wheelchair and set us up a table, calling it the VIP table. The Irish breakfast was to die for and the hospitality was absolutely wonderful!! Steve, his brother John, as well as all the gals made it all worth while. SO glad we went, and the Guiness, well, that spoke for itself!! Go if you have a chance...worth every bit!! Thanks again to you all who were so helpful with our mom, and for showing us the history upstairs in the womans bathroom...very cool!! :)

    Great pub! The staff was friendly and helpful. They got my friend's order wrong but they were apologetic and quick to make it right. Great comfort food and cocktails! Big TVs to catch a game.
