Showed up for our reservation and the restaurant was closed. Word around town is that it has gone out of business. Seeing as how I made the reservation a month ago, a phone call cancelling the reservation would have been nice. OpenTable: you really need to look into this so that a bunch of other users don't end up like we did.

We used Open Table to make our reservation because we got no reply to a phone call. We tried calling Espuma to get an earlier reservation, again received no reply, then were confirmed by Open Table, never having spoken to anyone at Espuma. Uneasily, we went at the newly confirmed time and Espuma was locked. We returned at the original time of our first reservation--7:00pm--and the door was still locked. There was no indication on Espuma's phone message that they had closed, or would be closed temporarily. This was September 8, a Thursday night and our anniversary. We had a satisfactory meal elsewhere, but think that Open Table ought to be more aware of a restaurant's status.

After a couple subpar meals, we stopped going to Espuma, but after a few years, we decided to give it another shot. We walked in and it was almost empty. As we were walking to our table, we noticed three other tables covered in dirty dishes. We sat down and were handed dirty menus and a crumpled wine/drink list. The hostess left and we waited and waited for our server. As time went by, we were getting so grossed out by the filth, that we left and went to Salt Air (which is consistently fantastic!). I tried to catch the hostess' eye to let her know we were leaving, but she never looked up at us, even as we waltzed out the door. I really can't believe they're still in business.

Hard to believe there wasn't a wine list? The bartender was dealing with the bachelorette party. By the time he came to tell us about the wines, dinner was being served. So we skipped the wine. The waitress had only worked 2 days and was just helping out. She did her best. The food was excellent, but very small portions for the price.

Completely bizarre restaurant. We went as a party of 11 for an early dinner at 530p. Five people at our table ordered $35 tuna entre which was on the menu. Ten minutes later the bartender came out of the kitchen to tell us they were out (we were the first to show up at the restaurant that day for an early dinner, how were they already out?) but that the cook had rockfish (did they run to the store and buy some cheap rockfish in those ten minutes, who knows?). Bartender apologized and said they would take drinks off our bill for the inconvenience. Those who ended up getting the rockfish were very underwhelmed by the quality of the food. And they still charged us the $35 for the rockfish (a much cheaper fish), and didn't take off any drinks as promised. Bartender and waitress were very nice but the restaurant was extremely understaffed. We were the only party there, 11 people (restaurant had plenty advanced warning) and they struggled to staff even our needs. God forbid there was a second table dining. Against, completely bizarre experience.

Very unprofessional establishment. Made reservations for 5pm. Received a call 5 minutes before our reservations was told they could not accommodate us until 5:30pm. This did not meet our plans for the evening. Was told the chef was stuck in traffic??? Definitely a red flag. We did get a reservation at Zebra an Italian restaurant about a 10 minute walk away which was excellent. So go to Zebra and forget about Espuma.

As always, Espuma serves unique combinations of food, excellently prepared and well served. We're never been disappointed, and they work extraordinarily hard to deal with my wife's food sensitivities (wheat, dairy, corn, tree nuts, shell fish). Always a special night of dining!

Worst dinner experience of all time!!! Way too many unacceptable issues to talk about. I'd be writing this for much too long and this place isn't worth the time. I just wanted to let others know so they don't make the same mistake. The owner should be ashamed to open the doors to the public yet he is still opening new restaurants.. I have a feeling local people already know about this. Seems like they already have one foot out the door

It took an hour from the time we were seated until we were served, despite the fact that there were only two other tables occupied in the restaurant. I ordered a salad and requested a piece of grilled fish on the salad; I was charged full price for a tuna platter as well as full price for a salad--the food was very good, but not worth the wait and the pricing.

We were promptly seated. The restaurant is cozy. There were not many diners in the restaurant. It took a long time before someone took our drink order. Our waiter seemed to not know how to be a waiter; did not take our food order or ask if we wanted desert at the end of the meal. The menus were left at the table after we placed our order. One appetizer order was incorrect; we were compensated with a glass of wine. The risotto was undercooked. The tuna had a scent reminiscent of old fish; we have raw / seared tuna all the time and this was the first time it did not seem fresh. The only persons who worked there who did a great job were the hostess and a gentleman who knew about wines; perhaps the sommelier. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The food here was surprisingly good. Apparently there was only one chef on duty - fortunately it was not a busy night. Considering he was working alone (and everyone else in the restaurant seemed to be doing at least double if not triple duty (plating, taking orders, front-of-house, maitre d'), he managed to turn out plates that looked pretty and tasted amazing. However, many other aspects of the restaurant could do with some work. The service was so slow that they ended up giving us our desserts for free to make up for it, and we noticed other tables that arrived after us getting antsy that their food was taking so long to arrive. The menus and wine lists were laser-printed, which I don't have a problem with at all, especially if, as seemed to be the case, they change daily and reflect seasonal produce. But if you're going to print out the menus and wine lists on regular paper, then please create new ones each day, don't recycle old lists that are splattered with food, wine and grease! Overall, the staff and management seem to be trying really hard and I hope they can continue to make a go of it. With more kitchen staff and a little attention to detail, this will be a great option for upscale beach dining.

The staff didn't seem to know who was waiting on our table of 5. This confused the drink orders and required us to order the same thing multiple times with different people. The restaurant wasn't crowded even though it was a sat night. When we asked a question the person we asked (about the menu) didn't know the answer and disappeared. We were afraid to ask any questions after asking for bread so as to not divert the focus from bringing us bread since the service was so slow. They acknowledged that they were slow and gave us complimentary asparagus which was delicious. The drinks were really good - ordering the fresh fruit of the day as mojitos. The vegetarian 7 kind dish was a huge disappointment. It was the size of appetizer and didn't fill at all. It was little piles of side dishes- a pile of sautéed mushrooms, sautéed potatoes, warmed tomatoes, sautéed squash. The menu nor the waiter explained the dish when it was ordered or served, however it was pretty obvious what it was. No idea how they got so many stars rated before. After we left I went to get more food elsewhere. Ordering dinner took at least 45 min.

We hadn't dined at Espuma since 2014 and wow, what a fall from grace. We used to avoid it in season because it was so hard to get a reservation. Now, we would avoid it because the food is no longer great, and the service was marginal at best. Despite being nearly empty, it took too long for our salads, and way too long for our entrees. And when it came, my steak was ordered medium, but came out well. Never over cook. Undercook, because it can be sent back for a quick remedy, and save you on food cost. I didn't dare send it back because who knows how long it would take. The staff there is very friendly, but that doesn't make up for the drop off on the quality, or lack of timeliness. Very saddened to write this....

Cheers. The food selection was creative and the food was great sans the roasted artichoke w lobster (too much soy sauce in broth). Next time back, I have already decided to have the ravioli stuffed with mushroom cream. The martini prepared with blood orange infusion was very nice. The desert was a great combinations of fruit and herb flavored dollops on a bed of tree nut crunch with fresh fruit. Jason made our experience light and fun on our first night out in over a year (foster dog with separation anxiety). The owner would do a big service to customers with a decor update. With such a fun vibe, a little brighter surrounding would be a grand finale.

We had a Rez and arrived on time . All tables were filled, which we thought was a good sign. Sat at the bar to wait for a table to open up. There were only 2 servers running around , taking care of all the tables, making drinks at the bar, and checking people in as they came in the door. Something was amiss... The bar area was a mess. Pledge polish cans on shelf next to liquor bottles. Balled up rag on another shelf . The 2 men serving were doing the best they could with all the things they had to do. Felt bad for them. My paella was as dry as a bone. Aweful. My husbands tuna was pretty good. There were more cleaning supplies on a shelf in the dining area. Won't be back . Heard from other diners that the restaurant had been closed down the weekend before , then reopened. Something must be going on business- wise.

Have eaten here a number of times in the off season for special occasions. Food is excellent but pricey. On this particular Saturday, our reservation was early enough that we got our drinks and food with no problem, but dining room quickly filled to capacity with only one waiter on staff. That meant we couldn't arrange for coffee after dinner and it took a while to get our check. Unfortunate as the waiter himself was very good but couldn't manage to serve every table. Also wasn't able to get leftovers as they seemed to be tossed by kitchen in confusion.

Kitchen was unable to present a quality meal even though the menu was limited to a three course - 4 choice menu. Of 4 person table, 1 main course arrived with a plate that held only about 3 bites; 1 main arrived tepid in temperature, and other 2 were uninspired. This after waiting close to an hour between 1st and 2nd course. Dessert course was equally disappointing - cold chocolate lava cakes that looked like they came from the grocery frozen dessert aisle. All for a $70/pp price fix meal.

I had dinner Feb 13 with another couple and octopus salad was uneatable and it took at least 40 - 45 minutes from the appetizer to be served the main course which was over cooked. I have eaten here several years ago and the food and chief was fantasist. However, being charged $69 fix price for each dinner was way overpriced for what we received. Additionally, after several of the plate were sent back the waitress didn't deduct anything from our bill which was over $300. I am afraid there are too many good restaurant in Rehoboth to even come back again.

We arrived 10 min early for our reservation and offered seat at front door. Since this would put us in a cold draft we asked for a different table. Hostess said different table would be 15 minutes so we happily sat at bar to wait. We were unhappily to see a couple of two who arrived 25 minutes after us seated ahead of us after we had already waited 40 min for a table. Then hostess seated a large table ahead if us when another table for two sat open but unprepared. Last straw was after getting verbal assurance from hostess she was ready to seat us we waited another 15 min watching her bring out individual glasses of water to the prior seated large table. When we asked her why we were seated after the other table of two and had to wait for the large party when our table was sitting empty her response was "I do not know". Unbelievable the unprofessional and incompetent hostess service at such an highly rated restaurant. She did not offer any explanation or sincere apology. Finally the bartender stepped in to try to salvage the situation and make amends for the poor service by the hostess staff. I absolutely would not recommend, my New Year Eve dinner ruined by incompetent employees.
