15 minutes for a waitress to take our order. Duck was over done and potatoes were cold not only once but the replacement as well. So cold the butter inside was still hard. Will never eat here again.
All five of us really enjoyed our dinners. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Tamara is a wonderful, professional server and covered every detail. Our friends from Winnipeg were very impressed with the whole experience
Love the Parlour!! Been going for years!! Great atmosphere and the Pavlova is Devine!!
Very friendly server and the atmosphere is really nice. I was a bit disappointed with the steak as it was a little over the medium rare I asked for and the presentation wasn't quite as nice as the other dishes we saw going out but obviously looks aren't everything. So the value wasn't as great as it could have been but it's a nice place.
The ambiance is old fashioned wood panelled steakhouse which was fine with us. The menu had a good selection of options, local and seasonal items and daily specials. Our steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked and the accompanying vegetables were fresh and not over cooked which is often the case in steakhouses. We were happy to see a few gluten free options on the dessert menu. Service was great - food was served in a timely manner, wait staff was very pleasant and it was an overall very good dining experience. The restaurant (and hotel) are only a few blocks from both the Avon and Studio theatres so is ideal for a pre-theatre dinner.
Loved the historic feel and the waiter was helpful and friendly. The Parlour Burger was the best burger I ever had! Highly recommend!
Food was wonderful when we finally received it. Service was very slow!
Food is decent, service is OK. Not necessarily a destination restaurant -- BUT they do have the best steaks in Stratford, so if you are looking for a steak, this is your spot!
The food has taken a step back from previous visits.
Plates obviously prepared in advance and left to set until someone placed the matching order.
This was our first visit to your restaurant. We absolutely loved it! Best meal I’ve ever had in Stratford! We have been disappointed a number of times but definitely not at your excellent establishment! Sharon was our server and she was outstanding! We will definitely be back. Thank you for a fabulous experience!
The food was excellent and very tasty. The salad was fresh and seasoned just right. Great dinner prior to the theatre.
We had a fabulous dinner at the Parlour. The food was amazing, our server was kind and helpful. We have been here before and the food is getting better every time! (And it started out above average). I would highly recommend. A quick walk from the Avon and Studio theaters and great meal!
The only concern our table had was the 20 oz steak seemed "small". Otherwise it was an incredible meal and the free dessert for our Groom was a nice touch. Thank you
We love the Parlour for it's elegant but comfortable atmosphere and wonderful prime rib done just the way we like it. Friendly attentive staff make it a perfect evening.
I dined recently at The Parlour Steakhouse. Breakfast is very reasonably priced. The classic eggs benedict was perfect. My server was friendly, polite and made sure I had everything I needed. I was served promptly.
Enjoyed our meal, service was excellent, we were on our way to theatre on time after a very nice meal.
Out of Pavlova ! The bad news was that the Pavlova was still cooling so not available. Our waitress finally convinced the chef that we would take it and it was perfect.
Great service and great food
Great service, great food.
Charming character of old inn but food is not remarkable. I had the prime rib -- it was overdone and had to send it back. My wife had the chicken and she said it was tasty and tender.
Great experience. Food was very tasty Service was great. Treat was seeing Canada Day Parade through dinner
We have been to the Parlour Steakhouse many times over the years. it is a beautiful restaurant, comfortable and not noisy. The food has been and continues to be very good. At this dinner we had a terrific Caesar salad. I had the duck which was done perfectly. My wife order her salmon medium rare but it came over done. However the chef took care of that by preparing another piece of salmon which was perfectly done. The main courses come with a vegetable medley which was delicious. The ultimate part of any meal at the Parlour is their pavlova which is a work of art, and which we order every time we eat there. So, overall, we had a lovely meal and have no complaints. We expect to go back to the Parlour when we come back to Stratford, probably next summer.
5 out of 7 of us ordered the hamburger. One ate a part of it and then mentioned to our waitress that it was too salty to eat. While the rest of us agreed, we ate it but all commented on the very high salt levels.
We mentioned this to the waitress and she replied with a "sorry".
I don't ever send my food back unless it is under cooked, but was not happy that our meal was much less than anticipated.
We were at the Parlour by our recommendation but will not do so again.
Dinner started off well with excellent bread brought promptly and a superb Caesar salad. Unfortunately, the mains were very disappointing. The steak dinner which was exorbitantly priced at $48 featured tough, gristly meat and boring vegetables. We chose to not even finish it.
This experience was particularly embarrassing for me as my guests were treating me to dinner and I had chosen the restaurant.
Our waitress was pleasant and competent.
We dined with another couple before a play. The food tasted very nice but my salmon portion was quite small and there should have been more vegetables and sides served with the entrees considering the costs.
Our fish and chip dinners arrived 5 minutes after being ordered and the fish was not heated through and was cold. The service was very rushed, we were given our water glasses, bread basket and a poorly cooked dinner all within seven minutes of arriving.
Excellent food and service, but a bit pricey. Still a great place. Best prime rib in town.
The food was quite good but somewhat overpriced. The service was good.
waited and waited...never got served...finally left when couples who were seated AFTER us were served...very disappointing
Our waitress was pleasant& informative & attentive. All staff we interacted with, were very pleasant. It was a beautiful day & we were very pleased that the hostess was quite receptive to moving us to a table on the patio! Will return
Had the prime rib both times we were there and it just melt in the mouth love it. The second time however there was more fat. The pavlova is excellent. We will definitely come again and we tel others about your great place
We bought the dinner package when booking the hotel (package was $99 - meal was more than $160). We also stayed for breakfast. Both meals were outstanding from start to finish and the service was equally great. The only caution - the Pavlova is a dessert that will feed an entire family. Would definitely eat here again. And again. And again.
Love the architecture! Our waitress was wonderful- she made great suggestions but was not intrusive. Prime rib was excellent, potions were generous.
Good friendly service. The food was excellent, the prime rib dinner was well worth the cost. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Our server Tamara was great. The food was delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. Well recommended.
We arrived at the Parlour Steakhouse approximately 30 minutes early and were seated immediately. The waitress understood we were in no hurry so she took and delivered our drinks order and did not return for the food order until we signaled we were ready. The waitress offered us reduced price on a single bottle of wine that was the last of a type that was in the wine cellar and we accepted it (the wine was excellent), and when we ordered our food it came at a relaxed pace. The food itself was very well prepared and was very good. We all left extremely pleased with the whole experience and would no hesitate to return to or recommend The Parlour to others.
A very very disappointing steak. The Rib Eye steak was a mockery, the price was the highest on the menu and what appeared was a very thin ( less then 1/2 an inch thick) cut of beef.
It was a privilege sitting in such an old heritage building, while eating an amazing steak dinner with my family this May long weekend. The service was lovely too. We will be back for sure, thank you staff for a great experience.
Great central area to have a great meal before your theatre show. Very friendly staff
The restaurant has an older feel to it and that’s not in the ‘classic’ sense. The stained glass throughout was pretty.
The service was good, no complaints there.
The food was meh. Salmon portion was on the small side and was slightly overdone. The 12oz ribeye was more medium well than medium rare but it was a large thin piece of meat so hard to cook no doubt.
The charcuterie board was underwhelming as well with no real surprises and built to cater to an older patron I suppose.
Overall it was ok but we will try somewhere else next time.
It was our wedding anniversary.
