We loved our wedding dinner at the Maison Boulud. Excellent food and beautiful ambiance. Only one little hick, it took too long for the bar waiter to serve us our first drink, but everything else was perfect!

we had a wonderful time . the service , attention to detail both in choosing the wines and dishes was outstanding . a truelly memorable experience. Olivier level of service as well as that of the wine steward were truelly exceptional.
Horrific service at this presumably high end restaurant. Despite making reservation 1 week in advance and directly confirming it 48 hours prior, we were seated on a poorly insulated outside patio, in 34 F weather with cold wind blowing in between poorly protective plastic curtains (it was end October, 8 pm reservation). When we requested inside seating, we were told we needed to wait until a table would be available, despite having advanced reservations. This took 2 hours of us essentially freezing on that patio. Astoundingly so, zero meaningful effort was made by staff/management to improve the situation, other than some rather pathetic apologies for the situation, which was entirely the restaurant fault. Food was good (not great, some dishes had true potential). Poor service did not end there, with simple tasks like timely filling of water glasses or get the right dish to the right person being inconsistently accomplished.
All in all the worst experience we had at an "upscale" restaurant, despite spending close to $1000, and really wanting to like it. Montreal has much better options

we celebrated our 30 years wedding anniversary with a concert Andrea Bocelli and a supposedly a memorable dinner. Your sommelier of the evening David I think was amazing and got us a wonderful wine. But the menu was poor. not even a filet mignon or a fish without pork or chicken for 1 person. I had the artichoke appetizer witch was decent and my husband the foie gras. Ridiculous, we just came from Quebec city and dined at Saint Amour and Le continental and le Boulay. Fabulous fresh foie gras. I ordered Lamb pasta. I ate it as I was starving, it was so salty, i had to drink so much water over the night, and my husband the lamb, 75% was fat and undercooked beans. As it was our anniversary, we decided not to make a fuss. We wished we dad gone to a Montreal smoked meat instead for 15 times less money.

We decided to try out Madison Boulud as a late birthday dinner while visiting Montreal. The food and drinks were amazing. We especially loved the shared roasted Cornish hen and fois gras. The vibe is definitely an older, wealthy crowd. We are in our late twenties and were definitely the youngest in the whole place. Still, it was a lovely atmosphere and each plate was delicious. Merci!

My wife and I have been to Maison Boulud a number of times and have never been disappointed. It is always a wonderful experience. The service is consistently outstanding, the decor is excellent and the food is amazing. There is also a very good wine list.
Last week my wife and I traveled to Montreal from Oakville, Ontario in large part for the Maison Boulud experience. We wanted to celebrate my wife's birthday and our anniversary in Montreal and at Maison Boulud in particular. We did the same thing last year. We had a wonderful evening at Maison Boulud - just excellent!
For those spending several days in Montreal we also recommend the bar at Maison Boulud. Sometimes my wife and I will just have a drink in the bar and have the small charcuterie and cheese tray for dinner. Great atmosphere, very good food, and excellent service.
If you haven't been there you should go.
Been once for dinner and loved it. Discovered Saturday Jazz brunch and just had to do it. The ambiance, the food and the service is outstanding and far from the trendy overly noisy places where people rather spend time texting on their phone because they cannot have a serious conversation. Beautiful decor with the garden view and the open kitchen.
What a wonderful diner that we had me and my friend. We took the degustation menu with the wine pairing, what an outstanding experience! Thanks to all the staff that were there for us at every moment.
This was a fantastic meal and I live everything about it. The four-course discovery menu was all very tasty and the cocktails we're on point. A special thank you for support my proposal to my girlfriend (now fiancee) without future notice.
We had dinner at this restaurant for celebration of our wedding anniversary. We were promptly seated at a quiet corner of the restaurant. The restaurant has a pleasant ambiance, soft lighting and music that is not distracting. Our waitress was professional yet friendly when it was called for, service was impeccable throughout. The wine list is extensive and includes mostly high end of the French wines but there are some good deals as well. The food was just outstanding. We had fois gras terrine, crab and maitake mushrooms as appetizers. There was nothing I could find a fault in, the execution of the dishes and presentations were excellent. Our main dish was a perfectly cooked lamb. A desert of figs and another one of peaches were out of this world. I have eaten at other Daniel Boulud restaurants in New York but I have to say that in my memory none reached to this excellence. I highly recommend the restaurant and I am hoping to return soon.
Went early for breakfast. Very friendly staff. Very good service. Opted for a table outside in the verandah. Very bright and sunny room. Confortable seating. Overall great experience. Only disappointment : Ordered poached egg. First 2 were overcooked. Returned my plate and got 1 out of 2 properly cooked...

Nous Nous abons été placée dans la section jardin avec chauffe-terrasse. Nous aurions préféré être dans la grande salle pour l'ambiance. Le service était excellent, là où nous étions mais, nous avions l'impression d'un restaurant moins chic avec les platiques faisant office de murs.
Bien sûr, il en aurait été tout autrement si nous avions été l’été puisqu'au même endroit, nous aurions alors pu profiter de la beauté du jardin.
Maison Boulud is perfect for business meal but also for any important get together!

Food and service wonderful. We were seated in the plastic covered patio and it was initially very cold with wind coming under the plastic and then too hot after the overhead heater was turned on.
The brunch was amazing. Moreover, top quality service, very kind waiters.
The outing was for a special occasion. We had drinks before dinner in the cozy bar area followed by a great meal. The menu choices are varied, with many unique and very interesting combinations of ingredients. Our knowledgeable waitress took the time to go over the menu choices in detail and explained the intricacies of the food preparation as the courses were served. The food was very nicely presented. The portions are not big, and prices are a bit high, but we felt both were fully justified due to the quality of the ingredients and attention to detail that made every dish an equal contributor to an overall memorable dinner experience.

J'ai beaucoup aimé l'expérience. Tout le personnel est très bien. Cela c'est juste un peu gâté en cuisine ou l'attente a été longue pour le plat principal et cela a cassé le rythme. Aussi, l'assiette de poisson était franchement pas assez généreuse comparativement à tous les autres services.
Was staying at the hotel and went here the last night of a special girls trip. I think we had the B-team for service, but the server was adequate. Thought we would be seated in the beautiful dining room but was seated in our breakfast room, so nothing special as far as ambiance. They were out of two items on the menu. I had the pappardelle with mushrooms, which was good, and my friend had the raviolo. My starter was fois gras terrine and hers was the salad, all good. The homemade brioche that comes with the fois gras was exceptional. They presented us an amuse bouche of a cheese gougon and we had coffee and madelines for dessert. They presented 4 dessert bites with the bill, which was a nice touch. I do not recommend the Telenti Brunello of which I ordered a half bottle. It was too young and solely my fault.

Daniel Boulud does not disappoint. In Montreal for the first time. We live in NYC my daughter is a CIA graduate. We love to travel and seek out fine dining experiences.
We had the best dinner! From entering service is amazing, the restaurant is beautiful! The fireplace wow! Our server was amazing all the way thru. We had John Dory, gnocchi and lamb all so good. Thank you for a beautiful fun evening.

My friends and I went for a special ending to our trip to Montreal. We were seated outside; since the temperature had dropped, they had installed plastic "walls" and put on some of the heaters, so it was plenty warm. We enjoyed looking at the garden and seeing the big ducks. Very good service. As to food: They brought out little puff pastries that were exceptional. The oysters, ceviche, and steaks were great. The focaccia was really, really good. The corn veloute was ok, but I would probably not get it again. Although we were all full, we split a chocolate cake, which was really tasty. Then they brought out a tray of small bon bons, which we forced ourselves to eat even though we were full, and they were awesome. We also enjoyed our cocktails and wine. We are really glad we went and will definitely go again the next time we are in Montreal.

It is really hard to describe just how amazing this experience was.

Marie-Christine is one of the best waitresses I’ve had. She made the experience much better than I expected service could be. This alone is the reason why I will return.
The food was good. The stone crab and sea urchin appetizer was fresh and well balanced although the sauce that remained was a little bit too sweet - almost like an orange jelly spread.
The 60-day aged beef chop did not have the intensity of flavour you would expect from something aged for that long. The marbling was not the best as there were pockets of fat that were inedible (unless you like chewing on fat). We also received the beef rare instead of medium rare so there could be some improvements there. The wild mushrooms and cumin carrot sides were excellent.
There will be a second visit as the restaurant has a lot to offer. Seafood is probably a better choice. More to try for next time.
I don’t often give 5 stars, but Maison Boulud has consistently been the exception. Exceptional service (Antonin is literally the best waiter I’ve ever met, you’ll be hard pressed to find someone better), outstanding food, and the ambiance is perfect. I understand it’s not an every day outing for most people, but if you can do it, it is well worth the money.
