Ate dinner here yesterday before our show. Salad and potstickers were good. Everything else was really bad. First off, there is a terrible problem with gnats flying all around inside the place. We kept shooing them away while we tried to eat. (gross!) The waitress tried, but fell short. She was timid and so soft spoken. Failed miserably at explaining the menu. There were no other diners inside at the time! The risotto was the absolute worst I have ever had! My husband ordered seafood risotto, and had to search for scallops/shrimp etc. on the plate, as it was nonexistent. I also had risotto with salmon. Salmon was fair - no seasoning whatsoever. The problem with my dish was that it in no way was what the menu indicated. No sauce, lemon zest, peas or tomatoes. Just horrible-tasting risotto. We didn't send anything back or complain because I don't believe the kitchen staff would have been able to fix the problem. So, we just paid and left. I would avoid this restaurant unless you are just going to sit outdoors and have a cocktail/salad. Big disappointment!!

We were surprised to learn that Hodges is part of a restaurant group that includes two other really fine restaurants: Washington Place in Little Italy, and The Welshfield Inn. We've had great meals at both... now at three. We had to try their Hanky Pankies - a really amazing combination of chorizo, cheddar and fig jam on a crostini. After two side Caesar salads with extra white anchovies, we decided to do apps as entrees. We had the Lobster Flatbread, and the Blue Crab Hushpuppies. We also enjoyed a totally unnecessary, but nevertheless crispy order of Tots. The manager at Hodges is very engaging and checks on each table - in our case a number of times because we had some nice discussions about the restaurant, the ownership and the chef. Our server, Katie, moved things along at a perfect rate. We were heading to the McCartney concert and didn't want to be late. The restaurant is on Euclid, which has really come back to life in the last year. The outdoor dining area is set well back from the street, not like the outdoor tables on East 4th Street. The atmosphere was perfect for a summer evening in Cleveland. Check it out!

We were in town for one night with our son for CSU orientation and stayed across the street at the Holiday Inn Express. We were so glad we tried Hodges. Everything was delicious, particularly the chorizo-stuffed, bacon-wrapped dates appetizer, and my husband's elevated shrimp and grits main. Service was fantastic, and all recommendations made by our server (on both drinks and food) were spot on. She was so helpful with my every indecision that I told her I needed to take her back home to help in all significant decisions. We will definitely be back!

I was treated to dinner for my birthday, but chose the restaurant and made the reservation myself because we had been there before and all enjoyed it. We all enjoyed our meals. it was half-priced wine bottle night wo my husband and I shared a bottle of excellant Fume' Blanc to go with the Salmon dinner. We also had the crab fritters and deviled eggs as appetizers. All were very good. Our Waitress was friendly and accomodating. We did indulge in dessert, mine was the warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream, very yummy. The valet parking was a plus as it was a stormy evening and we were able to get in and out without having to deal with a Summer downpour. Parking was also very resonable.

Really enjoyed the spot. My braised beef was fabulous. My girlfriend's steak was cooked perfectly, but the rosemary was overwhelming. the cornbread was FABULOUS!

We've been to Hodge's twice and had outstanding service both times. The food is very good, if a bit heavy and lacking in fruits or vegetables of any kind. We had the scallops with risotto, which I found to be amazing. The Hanky Panky's were surprisingly good. Cornbread was fun. We found the cocktails lacking (not much variety and not very tasty), but the wine and beer selection was great. Overall, I would certainly recommend this place. It's a little too expensive to go to frequently, but great for a special treat.

This restaurant has not kept up with the great foodie scene in Cleveland. We went there for convenience but I would not recommend it given the other options nearby and within a mile or two.

The food was delectable! I had the fried chicken sandwich with grits and sweet and sour green beans. I had never experienced such a unique and flavorful way to eat great beans before. The server was very amiable and social. My entire dining experience made me happy for the rest of the day!

Our first drinks took an abnormally long time to be served. Very shortly after they arrived, so did our entree's. The food was fantastic; we would recommend Hodge's for the food, location, and the outdoor dining.

Hey the food was fantastic! We're from LA- server recommended shrimp and grits and it was excellent- creamy grits, 8 plump shrimp. I took some back to our hotel. Homemade cornbread almost like dessert- comes with entrees- delicious and freshly baked. My husband had "pan chicken " we asked to sub mashed potatoes for a vegetable which they were more than happy to do. It also came with sweet n sour greenbeans which is never had, and it was really good. We didn't have room for dessert however. We sat outside- they have the largest outdoor seating area downtown. It wasn't noisy outside. I do recommend Hodges- especially for the attentive and cheerful service. Coming from LA, we're not used to being treated so nicely by ALL the staff. Never had to ask for water/iced tea refills- EVERY place we've eaten in Cleveland so far has met that standard. Also the citizens of this city are just lovely- friendly and helpful.

We have had several birthday dinners at Hodge's in the last couple of years. They have all been solid experiences with great food and quality service. The last three visits, our server has been Katie ( Katie M?). All three, especially the most recent on July 15, have been memorable. July 15 was flawless. We had tickets to an early show, and Katie managed our meal perfectly. Thanks to everyone on the Hodge's team.

This was my first visit there. We sat outside. It was set back far enough that you didn't feel like you were on a busy street. You couldn't see people walking by. The waiter was attentive. I had the grits and shrimp and it was delicious !!

The food and service were outstanding! This was our second time visiting Hodges in 6 months and we had the good fortune to have the same waitstaff . Q was excellent and made our evening extremely enjoyable. Great place for unique comfort food!

Stopped by for a light meal before watching CAVS play game 5 on big screen at The Q. Won't be back anytime soon. Our table in bar area was served by same person tending bar. Really bad idea. She tried hard but couldn't do both and we got the worst of it in terms of waiting to order and be served. I requested grilled onion on my burger. Never got that. How about ketchup for those tater torts? Sure. Also never showed. When bill showed up that was incorrect too. And not in my favor. Too many good places around to put up with lousy service like this.

With high hopes, this experience was very unfortunate and disappointing. It was very astonishing to see that there were no specials, (according to the server 1/2 off burger night was not a special so it was not disclosed) gluten-free or vegan options. One appetizer was vegan, not even the salad dressing was vegan. And one option for gluten free, which came with a poor excuse of a side. $6 for three sprigs of asparagus is hardly a value as a side or with a $26 subpar hanger steak. The server was very nice, but he could have been more educated on the menu, dietary needs and specials. I would not recommend this to anyone coming to Cleveland, it doesn't come close to other local culinary geniuses.

I eat lunch here periodically. I brought our extended family for dinner (lots of appetizers) before we went to the Monsters' game. I enjoyed watching them as they tasted the various things we ordered. Needless to say, the food was interesting (not the usual fare) and very very good (the deviled eggs could use a little spicing up) and everyone had a great taste experience. We had two younger kids with us and the wait staff was excellent and pleasant in accommodating our requests.

We always enjoy Hodge's---this time for a pre-theater dinner. The menu is always changing and the food is terrific. I had a wonderful pork cutlet with panko crumbs accompanied by a pasta and vegetable. The cornbread is always a treat. Our waiter was friendly and efficient and let us switch the vegetables with no problem. The outdoor patio was crowded and hopping, but with the threat of rain, we opted to stay inside. Hodge's attracts a wide variety of people, and the dress can be very casual or dressy. It's a fun spot!

Had Shrimp and grits for the first time on a recommendation from the restaurant and it was a great one! Tuesday 2 for $40 is an absolute steal with 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, and a bottle of wine. Perfect night out!

The food is always amazing. Our bartender made sure to take their time with our craft cocktail and as a bartender, I really appreciate the attention to detail. It was my friends first time and he loved it! I will forever come back :)
