Have been here a bunch for lunch and the service and food is always excellent but was highly disappointed by the service we received from our server, Nancy, when we stopped by for cocktails. We had a very short window, an hour, to order drinks and an appetizer before a show. We sat for a long time without our drink order taken, finally drinks arrived and when she took our food order we let her know we had to leave at 7:15 to make the show on time. After our food arrived around 6:30, we were not checked on at all and at 7:15 had to flag down a bus boy to ask to get our server's attention and the bill, which took a few more minutes. It was clear she likely was managing too many tables but the first and last time we return here for pre-show drinks and bite to eat. We tipped 20% but I wish we hadn't because the service was so poor, would not recommend here before a show.

We made an early reservation for a business lunch, and although the restaurant was empty upon arrival they sat every table close together (chairs were back to back). The food was delivered quickly but the chicken on the salads was bone dry. Couldn’t even cut it with the knives on the table. The service was good and the waiter was attentive. Overall the experience was ok, but I wouldn’t recommend this particular location for a business meeting. The noise level was too high.

Although it was a busy night, our server kept disappearing on us. We watched other servers being attentive to their table (even though it was busy). We had to "called" our server twice for additional requests.

Everything was great except for the dessert. We ordered the brownie with gelato. The brownie was so hard we could not cut it. We sent it back and it came back, but it was still inedible.

Good food, wine, drinks and service in a cozy room - who could ask for more? Well, I do have one suggestion: change the music. It runs to 80s rock which seems odd in an Italian-themed restaurant located in Symphony Center. How about some jazz instead? Or even a little Pavarotti? At least during the dinner hours.

In past trips to Tesori, I have found the appetizers, salads, and entrees very good. I had never ordered from the grilled entrees. The New York strip was disappointing. The service was outstanding.

Mediocre, overpriced pizza. Uninformed service. A big disappointment. I realize as I think about it that the good experiences I’ve had at Tesori have been in large group private dinners, not in the open restaurant area. What’s the story?

The service was deplorable - we had to go to the front desk to get the check, since our waiter never returned after offering the dessert menu. I ordered the scallops and risotto, and the risotto was a watery mess with absolutely no taste whatsoever. Not sure why this place is popular, we won't return.

They made sure our drinks were full, kept the table clean by removing dishes that were no longer being used. Overall, the whole experience was enjoyable. Thank you to open table as well for making our reservation as seamless as possible.

Tesori is the perfect place to din before a performance at Symphony Center. Smallish menu but all good choices. Great wine list and cocktails. Service is very attentive and ask if you are attending a show and if there is a time concern. Only down side is that it is on the pricier side.

We started with a chopped salad that was very fresh and had a light vinaigrette dressing. I ordered lasagne bolognese and my friend had the brick chicken. The lasagne was delicious. I cannot attest to the taste of the chicken dish, but I do know that it was a half bird and my friend ate it all. Too full for dessert, we each had a cappuccino, which was perfectly made.

My husband and I have eaten in the bar area of Tesori in the past however this past Friday’s experience was our first time in the dining room, and we had an awesome experience!!! We enjoyed a glass of wine each along with two delicious salads and I even brought home tiramisu for dessert which was absolutely delectable!!!!!!! So, needless to say, the very next time we come to CSO we will definitely have another experience in the dining room. We thank Tesori and it’s waitstaff for introducing us to a unique and wonderful dining experience!

If you are going to a performance at the Chicago Symphony Center, you can enter the center from this restaurant without having to go outside. You will need reservations the night of a performance, as the restaurant looked fully booked. It seats a lot of people, so it can be a little loud, but we were able to carry a conversation the people seated next to us without difficulty hearing them. Service is fast (as expected since many of the people were going to the performance in the Symphony Center). I had the Rainbow Trout and it was very good.

We had a very confusing evening. Our waiter was very good and the wine he recommended was as well. We ordered 2 entrees to split and asked that they be "coursed" with the pizza first. The pizza was great and quite ample. The next course, risotto, was not good. The texture was like mush and the dish had little taste. The room was also very full and noisy. Seating is very close and conversations from other tables could not be ignored.

I'm not sure if our waiter was having a bad night, inexperienced, or just a bad waiter. Ordered a drink, a very simple drink to make (Rusty Nail). Waited 10-15 minutes and then was told they didn't have any Drambuie. The manager stepped in and brought a Rob Roy which I ordered instead. Ordered our dinners which were received in a fair amount of time and the food was very good. Ordered another Rob Roy, but never received it. Asked for a dessert menu twice, but never received it. Granted it was a Saturday night and busy, it could have been a better experience.

Hidden pricing...may be typical of expensive restaurants, but I don’t like it. We had two petite filet mignons which said $30 each, a caesar salad ($12), side salad, one side of roasted potatoes, one side of asparagus, two 12 oz house beers, and a glass of moscato. $135. You have to pay extra for each side. Food was good, but not worth the price.

Our food was just mediocre except for the Caesar salad. Service was not friendly or attentive. The runner brought our dinner plates before taking away our salad plates, and the table was much too small to hold both sets of plates. The tables are much too close together and the noise level in the restaurant is very high. It was also extremely cold in the restaurant the night we were there. The only positives were that it is convenient to the CSO and the coat check kept our coats until the performance was over. We will look for somewhere else to eat near Symphony Center next time.

We eat at Tsori regularly before going to the ballet and theater. We love the food and atmosphere. This time, as usual we told the wait staff when we had curtain time - this time at Auditorium theater so we would need approx 15 minutes of walk time. The wait staff seemed to not be keeping track of time, so we had to ask her to take our order after we had been ready to do so for some time and then had to find her to ask for the bill at approx 7:15, meaning that we had to rush to Auditorium Theater. We would appreciate it if the wait staff were more attentive to the timing when customers have performance to get to.
