   wouldn’t recommend. the hostess was extremely rude when we arrived & got the name of our reservation wrong a few times after asking us to queue in a line with people without reservations. the drinks left a lot to be desired, the spin off of the aperol spritz was extremely watery & lacked flavor. our meal took more than 45 minutes to be brought out after the appetizer & while that’s fine since it’s a small restaurant, we were disappointed to be brought extremely mediocre food. I ordered the fish of the day & the rice was so crunchy, my husband & i couldn’t fathom it being intentional. we then sat with our dirty dishes for 20+ minutes before being brought the bill by someone we hadn’t seen all night. we’re hoping it was a bad night for the restaurant, both definitely not worth looking forward to it going to for a special occasion.

   Took a train to the city while in Princeton for the weekend, and after the disappointment of a show we were to attend that was cancelled, the experience of dining slowly in The Little Owl early that evening was just the salve required. It could not have been better. From the welcome and accommodation for an earlier seating than our reservation allowed, to the food, drink, and service, and, finally, to the overall atmosphere that's found only in the best small neighborhood establishments in the quietest corners of major cities, The Little Owl had it all. We'll be back.

   Loved this restaurant! The menu is simple but delicious. Had their version of an aperol spritz which was refreshing, the beignets with Nutella and raspberry and the burger. Probably the best burger I’ve had in a long time. Service was amazing and friendly very responsive.

    The service, setting and food were very good. We arrived on time for our confirmed reservation but had to wait about 20 minutes while they set up a table that was empty when we arrived.

    We had a great experience as our server was attentive and friendly, the food was super tasty and the outdoor dining was delightful. It was a lot of fun people watching as the tourists were all out taking pics of this iconic "Friends" location. Will definitely be going back.

    The food at The Little Owl is always good. The menu changes fairly frequently, which provides good variety but makes it hard to develop a set of favorite entrees. Most of the appetizers are a good size portion for lunch, so sometimes I don't get an entree when I go for lunch. The service is attentive but not obtrusive. Inside it's pretty quiet; outside can get crowded, and it's the Village, so depending on the time of day, it can be noisy outside.

    Once again The Little Owl didn't disappoint. My friend and I had a lovely brunch for Mother's day! The staff was very accommodating and gave us an outside table. Gilbert was our waiter, and was once again wonderful!! We had the omelette, asparagus salad, and sunflower seed salad which is my favorite this time of year! Thanks as always for a wonderful bruch!     We had lunch on our anniversary, and it was a delightful experience from beginning to end. Delicious food and a lovely setting (we ate outdoors), and our server Gilbert was friendly, informative, and efficient. We'll be back!

    Another superb meal at Little Owl. Two of us shared two appetizers--the cavatelli in tomato brodo and a l'il gem Caesar--and two mains--the grilled fish of the day (porgy) and the lamb shank. All four were knockouts. Attentive, knowledgeable service as always. Considerate, too. We said we were sharing everything, but didn't ask for any special accommodation. They brought out the bowl of pasta and two sharing plates and they split the salad for us on two separate plates. Same treatment for the fish (each of us with a fillet and some paella) and the lamb (in a bowl with sharing plates.). Quickly becoming my favorite restaurant.

    The food was a 10!! The string beans and corn are perfection. The Little owl is such a jewel on a magical street in the west village. The wait staff are so friendly and love what they do!!

    We had matinee theater tickets nearby, had eaten here pre-pandemic, loved it. I was pleasantly surprised when at the last minute we could reserve a table for brunch at this tiny restaurant. Our meal was WONDERFUL in all ways. We were given a terrific corner table, service was lovely, food was fantastic (pork enchiladas and...those beignets!) Wine selection was innovative, the new-to-me Austrian pinot blanc/gruner veltliner delicious. We will definitely be back!

    A great place to dine. Katy, our server, was terrific, with explanations of menu items and recommendations. Personable and great to talk to. The food was outstanding. Skate, which is not often found on menus, was perfect as was a lamb shank. Excellent cauliflower and broccoli side. Busy inside with outdoor dining, as well. Great playlist, too. Highly recommend Little Owl. Especially good for pre-theater at Lucille Lortel Theater a block away.
