   Ordered the ribeye based on the server’s recommendation. Wanted to order the prime rib. Steak was well done when I ordered medium rare. Didn’t say anything it for $41.99 I think it should be cooked correctly.

   The best thing I can say about The Stinking rose is that the service was good; our server was pleasant and attentive. The food was okay but not worth the price. Prices were similar to many other San Francisco restaurants, but the food was not nearly as good as the general standard in the city. The bread rolls did not taste fresh and seemed a bit stale. The linguine with shrimp was decent, but not worth the price. Same with the lamb shank that my husband ordered. I did not like the booths that we were seated in, with their tent-like covers. I felt claustrophobic in the small booth.

   I ordered the Prime Rib 28oz, worst prime rib I’ve ever had. Tough, hard to cut too man tendons. For the price was terrible, especially when it was my birthday dinner event. Never again I would go, terrible experience.

   Staff non attentive, the restaurant was empty. We went on the Big Bus Tour recommendation. Food was basic, very garlicky yes, which was why we went but nothing special and really overpriced. We only had 1 meal more expensive on our holiday which was Gordon Ramsay's Hells Kitchen so not great value I'm afraid. Won't be back.

   quirky restaurant, with heavy emphasis on garlic. Not necessarily far out of the box dining but good straightforward dining. You will need breath mints the next day :)

   Consistent great food if you love all things garlic. The staff are accommodating and friendly. My medium rare ribeye was a bit beyond well done. No longer my favorite place to eat.

    If you like garlic.. This is definitely the place! Fresh garlic pesto with warm bread and extra to put on your entree. I didn't try the garlic ice cream but have been told it's excellent. We made reservations and we're seated as soon as we arrived. Husband had the large ribeye and I the lasagna 😍. A must when visiting San Francisco 👍
