Punjab Indian Restaurant
Saturday: 5:00pm - 11:00pm
We are happy to be serving to you the finest recipes from Northern India where we were born. The same fresh ingredients, herbs and spices are used here that were used by many generations of Punjabis that came before us.View Private Dining Details
Excellent Indian food. Service was unusually poor our last visit as it took forever to get waited on, the check, etc. They were not all that busy either, so it was unexpectedly slow.
As always, the food was excellent. Service was good, but the delay from being seated to getting food on the table was pretty bad. We were seated at 7:40, for a 7:30 reservation and the main meal did not arrive until 8:45. It was not a busy night in the restaurant. I would plan for a long evening because this is not the first time this has happened.
This is the best Indian food around! The service was a tad slow but not too bad, the atmosphere is amazing
First time here. Food was delicious and waiter was very good and attentive. Nice atmosphere as well.
food is all good. prices good. mango lassi was good, some ingredients and dishes tasted like it was precooked and re-heated. lacked fresh taste. but not bad quslity. just a good place to eat. not a great place. average to above average
Service was very slow, even though the restaurant was less than half full. We ordered 6 dishes (5 vegetarian and 1 chicken) and 4 (vegetarian) were served with the bread, the last 2 dishes (chicken) took more than 10 mins to come and the breads were cold by then, 2 guests were only going to eat the chicken dish.
Came for a birthday celebration. My husband and I arrived early and enjoyed a drink and an app at the bar before being seated. Bar tender was very personable. Wait staff were also very genuine and attentive. Food was very good.
Punjab has some of the the best Indian food around Boston, in my opinion. But when we had dinner there early on a rainy Tuesday night, when there were almost no customers, we were basically ignored repeatedly by our waiter, sat without anything, even water, for many minutes before being greeted and served, and had a long, long wait between appetizers and our meal. Disappointing! We'll be back for the food, but Punjab needs to up its service game.
Service is attentive, kind , pleasant and helpful. The food is fresh and spiced to your request, I am vegan and often get the vegetable /vegan mixed vegetable curry and Aloo Gobi , on the mild side. the dal soup and Tandori Roti with no butter are also great vegan option. We go for dinner every few weeks and always feel welcome. the servers, staff and management do a great job staying on top of details.
The food was great. It was our first time trying Indian food and we loved it!
We have gone to Punjab for years. It never disappoints.
I haven’t been back since they reopened and now I sorry I waited so long. The food was delicious! I really had a very nice time. The decor is great. I will be going back soon.
Great chill ambiance and the cocktails were quite inventive with the different Indian flavors incorporated into it! The naan was SUPER FLUFFY and the Chicken Jaipuri was just the right spice to go with it. Had a great time in a date there!
Excellent as always. The tandoori salmon is always a hit with us. We love the malai kofta, peshwary nan, masala dosa, etc.
Great food and service! Food was well seasoned and presented. Service was fast and friendly
Good food but a bit expensive for what is it and where it is
By far the best Indian restaurant in the Boston area.
The chicken tikka appetizer complexly spiced moist and delectable. The tikka masalas are served in a sumptuous sauce. The nan is superb, and the homemade chutney and mint condiments are sublime.
The place gets busy, and the wait staff always falls a bit behind. But they are super friendly and always apologetic. I over order nearly every time and I need the extra time to finish my meal anyway!
And the kids love the mango lassi’s
This restaurant is my son's go-to for an outstanding report card. The food and service are always excellent. I'm just happy they reopened after an hiatus!
The food, the service & the atmosphere were amazing ❤️❤️
It’s now my favorite Indian restaurant around here
One of the best Indian restaurants in the Boston area.
Also had 2 children under 4 with us. A great experience.
Food is always great here. I had the salmon tandoori and it was fresh and cooked perfectly. Husband had his usual chicken tikka marsala and said it was delicious. Nice ambiance and great service!
Loved the food!! It was a great night out!!
I like this restaurant. It's the first place I think of eating when eating in Arlington Center.
Food was tasty but the service was very rushed, which was an unfortunate mood to set for our date night. From the moment we were seated, it felt like the server just wanted to get us in and out, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. The bright side is that our food came out quickly. I think we were at our table for only about 45 minutes total.
The restaurant itself looks beautiful and has a cool, modern ambiance for dinner and late-night dining. The food was pretty good: we got chicken tikka masala, a spicy chickpea dish, garlic naan, and a dosa. The dosa was really a bang for your buck because of its massive size; the other dishes were a bit overpriced. Oh, and the mango lassi was delicious! All of our food was brought out at once making our table for two a bit cramped, but we had plenty of leftovers and a great experience. Would definitely recommend for those looking for a nice Indian meal!
Amazing food & hospitality as usual - highly recommended!
Excellent food and good value
Service less than optimal
Lovely decor with welcoming area for families and a sectioned off private quieter area. Great food, service, at reasonable prices.
I'm not sure if they've changed something in the last year or so, but we've had much better meals the last couple of visits than we used to. Punjab has always been good, but our last two visits were really excellent. The tandoori salmon is a great dish, the vindaloo has gotten better, and we're big fans of the peshawary naan. Great place.
Our first experience at Punjab was a Romaric date night a couple months ago. This experience was a larger group for a post-graduation family celebration. The food is phenomenal, authentic, and you can request very spicy to very mild. The service is excellent and friendly. We will definitely be returning.
Loved this place. Nicer than the typical Indian restaurant around and outstanding service from a lady that appeared to be the owner and proudly told us about the restaurant’s history.
We have eaten at Punjab many times over the years, and always had a good experience, until this past Saturday night. We waited for 1.5 hours before getting our dinners! Our waitress never brought bread, or informed us of the delay. There was a large party of about 30 people at the next table,, but their dinners arrived just after we sat down. I am very disappointed, and don’t know whether I will be back!
For a 2018 mid May Saturday 6:15 reservation: The meal took more than 2 1/2 hours. There we lots of people waiting for their table. Significantly understaffed both in kitchen and wait staff. One of the dishes was supposed to be a lamb curry, but we got a chicken curry, but it took so long to some that we didn't send it back.
Food was just OK.
Punjab has one of the unique Indian qualities in a meal. The dishes are flavorful and fresh. The options are enjoyable and the managers/owners go out of their way to adapt and adjust to your liking. Will go back again.
the food was very good but our meal was so slow in coming-- people came in after us and left before us! our friends say that is always their experience there. so be forewarned.
So glad that Punjab is open again after their renovation. Always a wonderful experience. Hard to pick what to order given how good everything is, but servers are great at making suggestions.
Excellent food, but very slow service. It was the second time we had bad service, so they seem to have a problem.
Went with friends. Food was fantastic but you had to keep looking for the server.
