Neighborhood gem. Excellent food and service. Wonderful find.
No wonder this place was so packed. The food was outstanding, esp the sushi/sashimi very fresh and memorable.
It’s two days later, but as I write this, I’m back at Asuka. That should tell you all you need to know. Enjoy!
PS: try the Samurai roll!
Great deal on sushi! Fabulous waiter! Service was excellent. Delicious drinks! We were very pleased with this restaurant and will certainly visit again.
Great food, but when super busy they screw up orders and dont seem to care
Great sushi, atmosphere, crowd, and prices. Definitely will come back.
Very nice. Exactly what you would expect for a good Japanese place. The service was very good and friendly too.
It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. Service was average to slow which was fine, but the food (soup, sashimi, rolls) was average. Kind of a bummer as this place has a lot of great reviews.
Very American sushi lots of sweet sauces. The rice is not good quality but the fish was pretty good. Overall everything was ok. Nothing was great and only one thing was bad
Great sushi and entrees, great prices, very hopping restaurant - it's always busy, but you never wait long if it all; there's an amazing and unique self serve salad bar; great spot for catching up with a friend and really good food. Come here all the time!
Amazing as always. Can’t wait to return.
My second time here even though I live over a 1000 miles away. There are pricey Japanese options in NYC that are cramped, have no pretty decor whatsoever (like stark), and don't offer much uniqueness except your wallet will hurt when you leave. I love this beautiful place with its shiny tiles and backlit stone columns, the service is very friendly and prompt, nice cocktail options, and very fresh, delectable fish perfectly prepared and a great value. Also very close to the subway. I would eat here a couple times a month if I lived here.
Asuka Sushi had wonderful service and the food was very tasty. We all enjoyed our time there!
Average food, good service, price in line with quality of the food
Great sushi, service. Good drinks. Good value.
Best sushi in the city!
Hidden gem! It was our first time visiting this restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. Service was outstanding, our glasses were never empty, our server was friendly, and our table was cleared almost instantly after eating something. The sushi was fresh and the rolls were huge!! Word of advice, don't over order. You can always order more. The rolls are bigger than you are used to! The specialty cocktails were amazing. Prices were great. $9 cocktails. Soup $3. Seaweed salad $6. Regular roles $5-$6. Special roles $12-$14. Super jumbo roles $16-$20. Really loved this restaurant!
The rolls were fresh & delicious and the bento box was also very.good. Their prices were reasonable. The happy hour was also good.
We had a wonderful dinking experience at Asuka. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. I have a gluten allergy and they adapted rolls for me and brought out the gluten free soy sauce. My friend brought her baby and our waitress was so sweet and understanding with him. The sushi is high quality, fresh fish and the prices can’t be beat. Thank you Asuka for your kind, amazing, attentive staff and our delicious delicious sushi!
Stephen is the best. His service brings us back so much to Asuka.
The food and the service is always impeccable. I bring all my friends here and they all go on their own. Reasonably priced and the quality of the sushi is so high!
Sushi and rolls are good, and service is fast. Good recommendation for a local place in Chelsea that is good for sushi.
Could not have been happier. From the moment I arrived the staff was attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely spectacular and fresh as could be. I started with the Kumamoto oysters Served with their house with a tad of Tobikko and caviar. Wonderful. The seaweed salad was a great refreshing side dish. I finished up some of the freshest tasting sushi I never had. They had baby yellow fan, and Toro. I had an assortment of individual pieces of sashimi. Topped it off with a small glass of Sauvignon Blanc. I have a nice selection of cocktails and it was a 2-for-1 happy hour. Definitely a place like a miss.
Great sushi spot where you get the bang for your buck. Don't be surprised by the line that's out the door, it moves fairly fast. However, I do recommend scheduling a reservation.
Happy hour is great - drinks are BOGO free!
Service was amazing ! The happy hour two for one It was great especially the lechee martini . They are very nice staff of people
Everything was very good. We got a window seat which was awesome. I could see the Empire State Building from my seat. Waitress was wonderful and gave us good suggestions. Food presentation was very nice and the food was delicious.
I don't recommend this restaurant. The service was slow to start; but did pick up. The food was average to below average. The soup was pretty good; but the sushi overall seemed less fresh and disappointing based on the reviews. It's expensive when you compare to the competition. The noise level was exceedingly high. Almost unbearable. Distracted from enjoying your experience.
Food was amazing and our waiter was fantastic!
Why I don't see my 100 points for this???
nice place for Japanese food and sushi. the salad bar is excellent. service is nice. gets busy in the evening so good to have a reservation.
Great service, generous portions and very reasonable price. The fish tasted very fresh which is the most important aspect of a sushi/sashimi meal.
Very nice spot. Wasn't sure at first because of the website. Not much to see. But we took a chance and was very pleased. Our server was Awesome!!! Food was Amazing. I'm not a fan of plum wine but that one was very good.
We love Asuka! The sushi is consistently great and very affordable. The service is always wonderful, and their happy hour cocktails are great, too. We love meeting friends here to catch up - they never rush you out.
Asuka is a very popular reasonably priced neighborhood sushi restaurant. Plus a very good salad bar instead of the usual iceberg lettuce and ginger glop salad.
Service is fast and friendly. They like to turn over tables. Food is very good.
Amazing as always!
Sake tasting was lovely and educational. Very good miso soup.
Good food, low lighting and vibe made everyday dinner seem more special
Fresh, we’ll presented and reasonably priced menu. Efficient & friendly service. Great go-to neighborhood place for folks that like sushi!
Amazing amazing sushi! Waitress was very nice and polite. The bartender was super nice as well! We had a great time!
Overall a good experiences. The food was good and it‘s a great value.
