                                  With what seems like too many options to eat in the Reno Sparks area. We decided to revisit the steakhouse at the Tamerack Junction named Nevada Steak. We had visited before, but seems like they changed the layout of the restaurant. What initially got my attention of the restaurants menu was their options for fish, they had 2. A halibut and a salmon, two of my favorite fish to eat. Although names NV steak, no one in our party ate steak. We did however have the prime rib, pork chop, salmon and the halibut. All were delicious but felt the pork chops could have been juicier. We all enjoyed their wedge salad, and their lamb chop lollipop appetizer. The manager also helps recommend wines in case you can’t decide which wine pairs best with your meal. He made a great recommendation and we had a Pinot Noir. The whole serving crew were great, and made sure to check in to make sure everything was good and if we needed anything. A great meal at a tremendous price point. There is a lot of value in dining here. Although our meal and dining experience was great the dessert stole the show at the end. Save room! You will become addicted!! I don’t recall the name of it. It had ice cream, hot caramel, candied nuts, and a cake bread almost like bunt cake at the bottom. You must try. Nevada steak should be highly considered if you are looking for a solid steakhouse in the Reno Sparks area. It’s become difficult to find a good solid steakhouse in Reno that is packed with value.

                                  Have enjoyed this restaurant many times. This time we were a bit disappointed in one of the dishes. Shrimp Scampi consisted of a very large portion of pasta with 5 smallish shrimp underneath with no flavor of garlic. Very bland. Of course we were eating from the discounted “Sunset Menu” so I guess you could say we got what we paid for. BTW, the other dish, salmon, was quite good with ample portion.

                                  This is the second time I had a terrible experience with the food. I placed my order with the waitress, and that was it. Never saw her again until the bill. Does one think they deserve a tip for writing something down? I ordered Shrimp Scampi. It should have been presented with jumbo shrimp. Oh no, that is too expensive to serve! Six tiny shrimp with enough pasta for four people. How disgusting. Am I paying for a meal of pasta? If that was what I wanted, then that would be all I would order. I used OpenTable to book my appointment. I wanted a 4:30 pm appointment for the early bird special. It only showed 6:00pm as the 1st booking. My first thought was, they are booked at 4:30 or so. Until, I entered 4:30 in spite of, and there were plenty of reservations to choose from. One more restaurant to try to scam people. This trick was used to make people book for the expensive menu only. I am through with Nevada Steak.

                                  I had the pork chop with asparagus and dining companion had filet with crab add-on plus mushrooms as a side. We also shared the wedge salad and a dessert (caramel pudding?) with a shot of espresso. Food was good (sauce on pork chop was delicious!) and service was great. A relaxed and enjoyable dining experience.

                                  Association betwen waiter's group and kitchen staff was not in sync as usual; this causing delays and food at a cooler temperature than normal. We will return, everything happens for a reason.

                                  Past years we have enjoyed NV steak, but there is a definite difference this year in quality of food, service and overall experience We've felt like it was a high end experience in the past, but obviously things have deteriorated. Even the rib-eye steak didn't seem like the same good quality previously. Perhaps it's because we came on a Monday night after Father's Day and we got the B team??? Probably won't be back this season unless we hear of improvements.

                                  Delicious food. The menu contains a variety of appetizers, entrees, sides, and desserts. Our meal choices exceeded expectations. Outstanding service. Our server provided friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt service. She answered our questions and offered suggestions. The seating area provided a relaxed ambiance, thus creating an enjoyable evening.

                                  We have many options for fine dining in Reno- Tamarack is our go to every time. Amanda is amazing with her service and congeniality, the food was excellent - there's always more than enough to bring extra home! If you are lucky enough to live in Reno or the surrounding area- this should be your special occasion place!
