Mikey was a great server it was good time
Great steak!! Killer au gratin potatoes and incredible cheesecake :)
Messed up on our order.
Excellent as always!
I come here often but this time I was not pleased with the service. Waiter wasn't very friendly and bread was literally THROWN on our table. Food was good but I wasn't happy about the service, especially bc we were celebrating a birthday
Honestly our dinner was very average from the service to the food. Nothing special for the price you pay. We will definitely not be coming back, it's just not worth it!
Food is great- Service could be better and a higher level of professionalism could be obtained by additional training.
Bobby was our server - what a treat! He was helpful with suggestions, very professional and warm. Chef did an amazing job with our appetizers (my husband is craving the tuna against today!) and our steaks were cooked perfectly. We live in the city and try to visit lots of different places but we will for sure be back. It was a great evening :)
They hit a home run. Food was excellent, service was fantastic and the ambiance was great. Recommend it without reservation.
Service was horrible just walking in, the Staff was not welcoming at all (all 3 people at the front desk). Getting to the table first server we had at first Alexis was just as cold as everybody else we met at the front. Wait for the food was the distance from the restaurant to my house which is very long, I could have gone home snackedand came back. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone I should have gone with the bad reviews. Dress code is not as strict as you'd think based on what I read online I wouldn't have dressed up if I had known every jack n jill would be there. It's overrated I can say that. Thought food was too pricey for nothing. It was my boyfriend's birthday on which I mentioned when I made the reservation online coz they'll ask and alike many restaurants they didn't sing a happy birthday for him or bring those mini desserts not that they had to but a lady sitting next to our table got that so i was like I guess maybe not everybody is worth that. One thing for sure is it was my first and last time at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.
Our waiter Ron, made our dinner very enjoyable. Great service, first time in Chicago, would be back!
Always great food and service!! Lobster Bisque is the best!!
We had and confirmed our reservation. On way into city we got caught by a train and then were behind accident on Ryan - called restaurant and spoke to GM David - explained to him we were enroute and would likely be 15-20 mins late but be assured we were coming - upon our arrival he was extremely rude and said he wouldn’t honor our reservation and we’d have to wait. We had no problem with having a cocktail and waiting but his approach was rude and condescending- mind you the bar had plenty of seats and there were plenty of tables with out reserved signs on them . When seated our waitress was great, food delicious just a shame you employ a GM who is so not focused on his patrons . Working in the industry I’d be horrified if a GM treated our guests this way- he’s no credit to your staff!
We put anniversary on our Open Table reservation and no acknowledgement. We weren’t ever offered or served bread and noticed it at pretty much every other table. The food was superb as always, I absolutely love the smell when you walk into Ruth’s. I usually order the filet and they had a special potato preparation as a choice for part of the Ruth’s Classic which was outstanding. Had the chocolate duo for dessert and it was amazing also.
First time there - Best filet ever! Can’t wait to go back!!!
The food was excellent and the customer service was on point enjoyed every minute of it
Good is always good here. I love everything about this place except the prices. Be prepared to spend at least $80-$100 per person. I think it should be $45 for a ribeye vs $59. That would be fair. But it’s still great! 😋
I was very excited about eating at Ruth Chris but I am sorry to say that after dinner I was a little disappointed. It is possible that I had high expectations because of their reputation. Although the service was excellent, the restaurant felt tired. We ordered our filets medium and they came out well done. Again, it is possible my expectations were too high.
the food was a little bit expensive but the taste was amazing. I had the Truffle crusted filet and would recommend it to anyone
Food and drinks were very good. Steaks were done to perfection!!! Great place for 2 good friends to get together and celebrate both B-Days.
Came for a Birthday- nobody told waiter about reservation (birthday)...quite embarrassing to ask the waiter about the usual birthday desert & table decorations in front of my guests- makes it look like my poor planning - not the restaurant’s). Understaffed and very slow. Front desk employees were arguing when we came in instead of welcoming the customers). Drinks are not full pours (& so very very OVER priced) avoid.
Excellent food and service. Steaks done to perfection, as were the sides. Lobster bisque was excellent as well. Highly recommended.
The steak at Ruth's Chris has no equal. Filet mignon melted in my mouth. Another person in my party said it was the finest NY strip ever. Sides were impeccable as was the service. All around great restaurant.
I've been to many steakhouse chains in the US, but this was my first visit to a Ruth's Chris. My perfectly seasoned ribeye was delicious, although it had an enormous vein of fat in the middle, easily over 1/4 of the steak. Potatoes Romanoff were amazing, and the wine was perfect. The food came rather quickly, which was nice, but there was little to no thought given to presentation. White tablecloth, white potatoes in a white dish, steak on a white plate, it was all rather colorless and boring with very little visual appeal; wouldn't hurt them to hire a food stylist to update their presentation. The low point was that the waitress apparently forgot about us after she took our order; I had to waive down a passing waiter to get another glass of wine with which to finish my steak. I'd go again.
My husband and I love to eat here whenever we get to the city. Our daughter received a special award at Loyola so we took her to celebrate afterwards. She was blown away by the filet, as were we with our ribeye’s. And service was amazing, as usual! We will be back!!
Good foos. Good swrvice
Very enjoyable. Thanks for the birthday touch of sprinkles on the table and birthday message on dessert plate. My husband really enjoyed the two different lemon type martinis. I love petite filets and it was superbly cooked.
Went early (6pm) to avoid a long wait. Dining room was about half full, which was nice because it wasn’t too loud. Good service, great food. My husband and I got a little full off of the free bread and our bottle of wine before the main courses arrived, but our entrees were so delicious we made some room! Everything is very rich, so maybe don’t order that third side.
Love the 6 oz filet.
The steak was kind of burnt ( I ordered medium well ) and not worth the price I paid.
Food was great as always. The service given my Miriam was outstanding.
Steak was great...
Was a great meal and they made the bday special
This is definitely a special occasion place. Birthday, anniversary, etc. The ambiance was very nice and our server who’s last name was Love was very attentive and made our anniversary dinner so nice. My steak was cooked to perfection. My hubby had the chicken breast which was also delicious. For sides we had au gratin potatoes, Cremini mushrooms and creamed spinach. We ate everything. They also gave us complimentary dessert- a lemon cheesecake. All delicious!
Very disappointing. Slow service. Ran out of beer. Food was average. Not the McCormick and Schmick's I once knew.
I went to celebrate my birthday on a Monday evening. I made a reservation and was seated near the bar area. We waited for a white for the waitress/bartender to come and great us and even longer for the food. We waited at least an hour for the food and did not order much. I actually started nodding off because it took so long. By the time the food came I asked for the check and to go box because I figured that would take a while. The check came within 10 minutes but she forgot the boxes twice. I finally found someone walking by to get a box and bag to go. The food was delicious but I may think twice before dining here again.
Always great 👍 We go at least 5 to 6 times a year all over the states and have a great time
Waiter and service was excellent and the food was wonderful! Great place to spend our 1st wedding anniversary!
Enjoyable time. Our server was very welcoming but not overbearing.
