My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Vitae. We each ordered the chef's tasting menu which was a great way to sample across the menu. Each course was outstanding! The service was excellent - highly attentive. We dined on a Saturday night and were able to take our time, relax and enjoy the experience. Highly recommended.

This restaurant is a welcome addition to this area of the city. The food was superb; a little pricey but totally worth it. Everything we had to eat was excellent. Service great too; everyone was welcome, efficient and professional. I would go back as well as recommend to others.

Food was good. The server was smiling and kind it seemed, but she kept interrupt our conversation, middle of eatings, to ask if we’re doing fine. We weren’t eating slow, nor the place was busy. Nothing was abnormal. Because it was so uncomfortable interruptions, made us push out sooner. Maybe it was what she wanted.

We questioned doing NYE dinner out with our two boys (8 and 10 yrs old.) We needn’t have worried- the experience was wonderful! From the friendly hostess, to the bartender who made the boys “mocktails” to our server who was genuinely kind and engaging- we felt welcomed and well taken care of from the moment we walked through the door. The food was excellent- we all did the 3 course prix fixe, and the chef send out a beautiful arancini amuse as well. My son has a mango allergy, and ordered a shrimp appetizer without the mango sauce- the chef not only happily accommodated the request, but came out to the table to make sure we knew it was made without the mango, and even made him some extra when my son told him how much he was enjoying it. My other son ordered a filet and the reduction that accompanied it was among the best I’ve ever tasted. The duck with pomegranate hit all the right notes and was a beautifully crispy confit alongside a perfectly cooked breast. The scallops were also a hit with everyone at the table. The cheesecake with passion fruit purée was the star of the desserts. It was a delicious meal and a lovely evening all around. We’re looking forward to visiting again!

Wonderful dinner. Shrimp & crab dumplings and halibut were outstanding with the selection of a red wine flight. Topped off with wild blueberry bread pudding. Great service too.

It was overall ok. Not sure I will return anytime soon. I will say the Food was amazing. Tasty, delicious, a little twist on classic dishes. Very good. The service was below average. The waitstaff was a different person at every point. Not working together. The first waitress poured us a glass of wine from the bottle that was literally the tiniest pour I ever had. Like what you get at a wine tasting. Another women came, spoke so softly I still do t know what she said. We then said no thank you to dessert, they bring the check?? We actually wanted another glass of wine instead of dessert and they weren’t happy. Maybe they were rushing us out. Not sure. Rude behavior. Prices are high Service is poor. It’s a shame since the food is great. Oh well

This is the last place to consider for a productive business conversation. It has to be the noisiest restaurant in Manhattan. But perhaps the food was the biggest disappointment. Vitae had been our favorite restaurant for years. Perhaps there’s been a change in the kitchen. There’s certainly been a change in the prices, and not in a good way. $100 per guest with no drinks is unreasonable, especially when the food is insignificant. Fortunately, we are blessed with so many other, better choices in that neighborhood.

The food was good as long as you don’t mind having to constantly wait for the waiters. Would have got a bottle of wine too but it took to long to help us, as our meals were almost ready when we finally got a drink order in.
