I wasn't sure what to expect but when reviews said "expat French waiters", I was pretty sure I'd love the food. It is hard to find French restaurants that feel truly French and this one fit the bill. The food was authentic and wonderful. We had to add someone at the last minute and therefore, our choices were a table at the very back or one at the very front. Neither was optimal. In the back, you can't see the entertainers and near the door, it's cold in winter. Anyway, it wasn't their fault but in the future, I'd book more in advance and specify a table with a good view of the music. The jazz was not too loud and certainly added to our enjoyment. I had feared it might interfere with conversation but that did not happen. Léo was a great help with wine selections, very professional and kind. In short, a great choice for a Saturday night with our daughters who live in the city. Both the food and the atmosphere will please multiple generations. Nous allons revenir!

Lovely French restaurant. Food was delicious, our server was wonderful. The atmosphere had us feeling like we were back in Paris. We missed the Live Jazz as the performers were running late, but otherwise a great evening. We will return.

Lovely but way overpriced. More attention to the musician would have been better, could barely hear him--not his fault. Not sure why they had the poor fella trolling with a bucket for tips when there's a cover charge (albeit small). Food was marginal. Service was excellent. Probably go back to Dizzy's next time.

I love this place and the brunch is so affordable and fun for a big group. I took a brunch crew here and we had a blast. Be sure to go early as music does cut off but the band was a great touch to our dinning experience.

I love this restaurant and come here very frequently with my girlfriends, thus I decided to book reservations for Valentines Day to spend with my boyfriend who lives out of town. The food was great but I have to say I was very disappointed with the service throughout the evening. We were cramped into a table where we sat so close to the two tables next to us we practically all had dinner together (no intimacy whatsoever), we find out there was a prix fixe menu for $75 a person once seated (there was absolutely nothing online or said over the phone when confirming about this), and the restaurant was freezing cold. We ended up spending $210 because a “weekend cover” was added per person AND the 20% tip was automatically included. We weren’t the only people surprised at the fact that there was a prix fixe, it was apparently happening all night. To be honest I was very disappointed and feel played, I understand that it’s a very busy night but there was no transparency whatsoever from the start about some pretty crucial things. They have lost my trust as a customer.

Celebrated our anniversary here, first time dining there and it was fantastic. We were greated with a glass of champagne which was super nice of them. The food was great; the terrine is very tasteful though I would’ve liked it just a bit more acclimated. The steak tartare was also perfect. The risotto was perfectly done, a big dish so it is definitely enough, we also had the steak frites and the meat was absolutely amazing. And the butter you receive with the bread was too cold for easy use. They do a great job on the food! Had malbec and pinot noir, both very good, malbec absolutely velvet. Prices are reasonable, and match the quality of the portions (big!) and taste of the food (delicious). And the jazz!! That is fantastic!! The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, perfect for any kind of evening. Music in between jazz also well chosen. The only small thing I would offer as feedback is that the service is good, but a bit French...so not too cheerful, but polite and kind enough. Jules Bistro is a gem and we love it. Felt like home!

Great romantic date on a weekday (less crowded) dinner with live jazz. If you want your large fare jazz club go uptown or west village. We sat right behind our pianist and had great conversation with him all evening. Appetizer portions are small so load up on French fare here!

A wonderful New Year's Eve dinner accompanied by Angele Williams vocals. Was expecting access to the whole, regular menu as seen on the Jules website but we were offered only a pre-fixe choice. The pre-fixe menu was not ever mentioned on the Jules website. Food was good and service was better. A bit hectic but when the music started the place was rocking. I will return with friends.

Stumbled upon Jules when looking for a restaurant with live music. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy and the music was perfect - just what we were looking for. **previous reviewers complained about the inattentive service, but I think their style is to let you stay and enjoy the music until you ask for the bill. Great place! Look forward to going back.

Lovely staff at Jules... we had a show to catch so thought 2 hours would be plenty. Miscommunication, and we had to take our entrees to go. Only 3 tables in the place at that hour on a Sunday Night... they gave attention to the larger party beside us... so that was a bit disappointing but not entirely their fault.

I loved Jules Bistro, the ambiance was amazing, such a diverse group of people. The Jazz musicians were so talented, the food was excellent and the waiters were so attentive. I had such a great evening, I would recommend to anyone who wants to listen to great music and eat amazing food!

I love this restaurant and everything about it. It is authentic, comfortable, has a great atmosphere, amazing food, and excellent service. It is a very special restaurant and we will return many times. The duck is fantastic as are the other dishes on the menu and we love the desserts too. The waiters and staff are very attentive and provide great service. We will be back for the jazz as well next time!

My friends and I reserved a table for Friday night (7:00p.m). I arrived first 15 minutes late due to weather related issues. I was seated by the door (which was quiet cold); the matre d' immediately let me know that I only had the table until 9:00. The service was unfortunately poor. I waited for a while before the waiter came to ask if I needed anything while I waited. My friends had the same experience. The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere and the music was great ( just a little too loud). The singer was absolutely amazing. It was a little odd that someone from the band went around collecting tips (we all just gave once). The food was amazing but way too expensive.

The food is AMAZING as well as the service. The staff is very friendly. The only downside is how small the space is which might have influenced how loud everything was. The live music is incredible though! The menu is a bit pricey so if you’re ready to splurge (well worth it) for date night this is the place to go to.

I've been going too Jules for over 20 years. The food is consistently good. This time we decided to have Thanksgiving dinner there. The portions looked small at first, compared to typical American portions of over-eating. However, the portions were just right and the food was delicious. The turkey was juicy, the stuffing outlandish, and the dessert rich and made to perfection. We left sated and not overstuffed as tends to be the norm on Thanksgiving. We would definitely go back to Jules for their holiday prix fixe. The whole experience was a wonderful treat, no prep, no cleanup, and lots of fun.
