I have been dining at Piatto for over 10 years! The asparagus appetizer is the one of the best ! We love the family owned , completely local restaurant!
This was most authentic Italian in Houston. We were group of 5 and tried many fishes and all were great. Stuffed shrimp was one of the best. Pasta dishes were so tasty. Highly recommend it!
Fantastic food and service. The best gnocchi outside of Little Italy in NYC or the North End in Boston.
Excellent restaurant- always great food, cocktails and service!
Always a great experience. Food is great and waitstaff is attentive. Some of the waiters have been there for over 10 years (for real)!
The staff, service, and food at Piatto Ristorante are consistently very good. Often, the owner, John Carraraba will stop by your table to say ‘hello’ and/or ensure that your meal is to your liking. We have often bright out of town guests here for good Italian Food. Their fried asparagus appetizer is still the best, and their seafood options are also fresh and very good as well!
It is a great restaurant that has taken "hit" due to the road construction on Post Oak. We came from Sage to Alabama and it was an easy way to get there. It is a restaurant offering a great, diverse menu at a reasonable price. We love the fact that we are able to talk with each other without loud, blaring music.
This restaurant is a gem. Not only is the food always on par, but they have seasonal specialties and the calamari appetizer is the best I've had in Houston. It is consistently good, fresh ingredients and good staff.
The asparagus with lump crabmeat appetizer is spectacular. And everything else is good too. Save room for cappuccino too.
Best place for any business lunch
Amazing Food. It was very good. Can tell the pasta was made in house and the food was fresh.
Food and service outstanding. Escargot was a taste explosion! Salmon was the daily fish special, prepared with lemon and caper sauce, cooked and seasoned perfectly.
I am Italian and was raised with an amazing pasta rescipe my grandmother brought over from Italy. It’s been difficult to find anything that’s a close match to the perfection I’m used to. The pasta sauce at this restaurant was unbelievable it was just about as perfect as you can get. The taste was incredible. It is now one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the city of Houston. I highly recommend this place for the food quality. If you are a “foodie” this place won’t let you down. It could be a little more sexy and intimate with candles, soft seating and fancy table clothes and and morph into one of the best places in town. But for now... settle for a food quality that will please the most discriminating customers. Five stars all the way!!’ My compliments to the chef.
It could not have been more wonderful!
Enrique and staff were great! One of my favorite places to go. Mr. John Carrabba is so friendly and personally makes sure you have a great dining experience.
Piatto's has been one of our favorites for years. will always be on our list.
Excellent. We’ll be back sooner than later!
Very nice, intimate, upscale environment that is also relaxing and casual. The food is always excellent and the service attentive.
We've never had a bad experience at Piatto.
The bomb 💥
We came on a Monday night for a HRW outing. Being the beginning of the week was not surprising that the place was almost empty. Winter was brief, somewhat friendly and was on time with drinks and the food. First course, an Asparagus dish was decent, tempura fried Asparagus with crab meat, 2/5. Second course Medallions, meat was tender and mashed potatoes where creamy, 4/5. Third course was a Double Chocolate cake, well made chocolate mousse balanced with the right amount of sweetness, 3/5. Overall experience was fair and deserves a rating of 3/5.
Piatto is consistently fresh and delicious and the food is always the right temperature. The selection is excellent (except there are too many good dishes, so selecting is tough!) and the price is very reasonable for the quality. The staff is knowledgeable and professional.
Great for lunch or dinner alike.
Awesome food. Best calimari and asparagus appetizer in the world, super good wine by the glass. Quiet, convenient and just a great restaurant!!!
First time to try Piatto, even though I work nearby. I was not impressed. The antipasti misti was good - a nice surprise was the breaded veal cutlet - but the cheese was skimpy. Average fresh mozz and a few sticks of a hard parm. Nothing in the middle to give you different layers of flavor. My guest had the Medallions, which were very good and I tried a margarita pizza. Meh. Flavors weren't fresh or savory - kind of in the middle. Tomatoes weren't flavorful enough to carry the dish. Cheese was spotty. But plenty of basil. The crust was the lowest point. Just didn't like the texture or the lack of flavor. Made me think of a frozen crust, not a fresh tossed dough.
We were all disappointed with the pizzas, maybe the rest of the menu is good - but if you can't serve a good pizza then take it off the menu.
We had a most enjoyable dining experience this past Saturday night at Piatto's. We took advantage of Houston Restaurant Week and had the 3 course pre-fixed dinner. Everyone at the table that evening had no trouble finding something that they liked from this menu. The food was great and the service/waiter was very attentive. I will probably go back again in the very near future.
We’ve been meaning to try Piatto for awhile. Houston Restaurant Weeks finally got us there. We enjoyed our meal very much. We’ll be back!
Consistent great food and drinks and great service. Very friendly atmosphere.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Everyone was friendly referred to you by name. Food was A++. Mr. Carraba Mother was very warm and inviting. Definitely will be back.
Been here many, many times. Lots of birthdays, brought out of town visitors, office get together/birthday. (John Daugherty, Realtors)
Even with the streets torn up..very easy to get to.
Food is outstanding, wait staff fun & friendly..
Bar tender makes a great cocktails..martini, bloody Mary.
Very polite valet attendant..
Thank you for another delightful experience.
Always a great meal.
Part of the problem may be due to road construction but the restaurant seemed woefully understaffed / our waiter was too busy greeting other guests & taking orders although there were only 3 tables. Most of the work of serving and follow up was left to the busboy. One employee spent the entire evening on a ladder stocking bar items ( could have been done earlier I think). Additionally the food was not as good as in the past & we were sad as Piatto’s has always been a dependable go to place for us & it certainly was not last Tuesday night. We are not inclined to return.
The owner/manager came by to check on us and thank us for coming in. Nice touch. Great food too.
The food is consistently great! The ownership and staff are wonderful.
I hadn't been to Piatto in about a year, but my dad and I had such a great meal there on Fathers Day that we both resolved to starting going more frequently.
We had the stuffed shrimp and the chicken involitini and both were great. I had a delicious cocktail - a specialty mule.
Piattos is consistently a top choice with my friends, family and business acquaintances. The Owner Johnny Carrabba and his family are always there to ensure a perfect experience. His wait staff has in many cases been with him over 10 yrs and they know me by sight. The food is always top shelf and the service matches that. When seated at the bar, drinks are well poured(they don't skimp) and bar staff is very attentive to your needs. I do not hesitate to take anyone to Piattos--it is first class.
We really enjoyed our first time dinner here. It was great to see the owner. They provided wiki stix to entertain the kids. The food was delicious!
Went to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Everything was as expected. John has long term staff that has been with him since he opened 17 years ago. His expectations are well engrained in them. Goof food and great service make for a pleasant evening
Always great food and service at Puatto!!
It was good!
