I ordered the chicken Parm. It comes with “Gnocchi” what arrived on my plate was dollops of mashed potatoes. It was gross and distracting to the dish
We had a wonderful dinner with friends before the Opera. It was very busy for a Tuesday night but the Wild were also in town. The bar area was very crowded so I am glad we made reservations in the restaurant. The food was very good and the service was as well. Our friend is gluten free which I didn't even think about when I chose Pazzaluna but they had a very nice gluten free menu. I had the angel hair pasta with shrimp and it was very good. The wine prices are not over the top either. I recommend making a reservation if you want a nice dinner otherwise the bar area is very fun to sit in as well...just much louder!!
The happy hour is really nice but dinner was disappointing. The food was bland and the service in the restaurant was spotty. Our entrees came out before we were even halfway done with the salads. They took the entrees back and held them under heat lamps for a couple minutes and then brought them right back out. The whole dinner felt rushed disappointing.
Great place to eat they never disappoint. Well worth the drive.
The food and service were amazing. Highly recommended.
Excellent!! Also amazing food and service!! I am gluten free and you accommodate gluten free customers so well!!
Table wasn’t ready until 30 minutes after our reservation time. Armrest on one of the chairs was broken. Food and drinks were good, but overall experience was middling.
Best restaurant in the Twin Cities. Curtis and Lois are just the best servers anywhere. My wife and I met the new owner/manager since it sounds like Morrissey will no longer be managing it. Daughter of the original owner, sounds like she and her brothers will now be managing. Delightful young lady, the restaurant continues to be in good hands.
We had a wonderful evening, despite the snow and horrible roads. Valet service is so welcome. Food was amazing as usual. Cozy and romantic dinner, tucked away in the corner.
The worst duck I've ever been served. Had the best ever last week @ Grand Velas Piaf, Riviera Nayarit, Mexico. Locally, I'm sticking with Phil's Tara Hideaway - worth the drive. Restaurant only half full, but NOISE level was HIGH.
This is a place worth checking out for yourself at least once.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Somewhat expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Very nice dinner. Service was excellent. Lighting in the dining room was too bright. Overall it was a great experience.
This was a special occasion and the first time bringing my friend to Pazzaluna. I called ahead and requested my favorite table. The hostess immediately agreed to reserve the table for us without hesitation or the usual attitude I get from some restaurants. The food was fantastic as always and our server Conrad was fun and gave us the perfect amount of attention. Thank you to all of the Pazzaluna staff for such great service!
Another beautiful dinner with my love of my life at Pazzaluna Urban Italian Restaurant ...my butternut-squash soup was nice and thick, halibut was phenomenal, maybe a touch dry but the entire composition with spinach and zucchini was really nice, duck was juicy and fresh, pistachio gelato - what can I say ❤️, this time cappuccino was HOT, just like we like it. Jacob thank you for taking care of us tonight. Hamsa thank you for your service- you are the best as always. SPCO concert, right after the dinner was long but very interesting with choir this time ...Bach music made a great conclusion of the evening.
Best in St Paul. Adding up food and value. I like the Grill and Meritage but they are really expensive. Pasta’s and Rissoto’s are very reasonably priced, and they have some excellent bottles of wine for 40-60. All in all, my go to place in downtown St Paul. And valet is still $10, unlike the Grill at $15.
Love this place. Great for theatre night!
We call this our go to place in St. Paul when planning a concert or theater evening!
We’ve dined here many times. While we will likely return, dinner this evening was disappointing. The appetizer was excellent, but the entrees were less so. The chicken in the chicken piccata was very dry and the risotto runny. The chicken risotto was exceedingly salty. We have had both dishes before and found them delicious. Our experience overall was decidedly underwhelming.
We ate at Pazzaluna before a concert so it might have been a bit more crowded than usual. Because of thT and most of the restaurant is open tables, it was very noisy. I spite of that the service was very good. The chicken piccata with risotto was excellent. I would definitely go back.
Outstanding experience, from the food to the service to the ambience to the people. Recommend as a not to miss spot.
A friend and I had supper before a concert at The Ordway. Our table was ready even though we were a little early. Our server was at our table promptly and suggested wines. We ordered from the special menu, and we both enjoyed the soup and the pastas we chose. We appreciated the pacing of the service, and also the table in a less noisy area. Overall we had a very pleasant experience.
We have been eating at Pazzaluna since it opened years ago, and don't even live in the twin cities. It is so reassuring to be in a restaurant that serves high integrity food in a relaxed setting with servers who have been there as long as we have been going. Wonderful
I like this restaurant, we found it by accident one night after going to the Ordway for a show. I knew I would have to go again, I brought my sister one night and she liked it as well. It was her idea to celebrate her birthday there. The service starting out slow, we didn't get our drinks for approximately 15 minutes. Once it started it was good. Also I was not too please with the blandness of my entree, the lasagne, it needs a little more zing but was filling. The soup was too big, I got filled up on it but the bread was delicious! The dessert was great and the value of future coupon was an added unexpected benefit and I was happy for my sister because she thoroughly enjoyed her day! Thank you.
The food was OK. The salad was great. but are main dish was not hot and dry!
Excellent food and a pleasant surprise of 20th anniversary menu prices.
Booked reservation two + weeks in advance. Stated we had a party of 7 with one child and prefer a table not in middle of room. Also celebrating two birthdays. Our waitress never mentioned the birthday celebrations although brought up several times. Brought wrong meals to table, suggested a larger adult meal to the child in group and then brought the wrong bull to table.
She did not return for drink orders, had to ask another server to get her. Absolutely the worst service ever experienced. Food for the price was sub-par.
20th anniversary celebration. Reduced price menu items and free slice of tiramisu!
Great food and atmosphere! A St. Paul gem - perfect before a Wild game or Ordway performance.
We have been going for 3+ years and won’t go back. It has slowly declined in both service and food quality. The lasagna has gone from good to mediocre. There are a few dishes left but overall sad to see the decline. We were also rushed thru our meal. Not offered desert or more wine. Sorry to leave this review as it WAS one of our favorites. This has been a steady decline over the past 12 months or four visits
Went for their 20th anniversary celebration. Enjoyed the food and prices from 1998 & even remembering some of the staff that have been there since the beginning.
Our Tuesday reservation accommodated us arriving 15 mins early. Great server. 2 of the 4 dinners were lukewarm, but the manager gave them a new order on the house in addition to free desserts for all 4 of us. Delicious food.
Antipasti smoked salmon will make us return. Marinated olives with Surly and Fulton beer is a great local combo. Spinach Ravioli was very good, Caprese salad was an interesting presentation, but maybe not what I expected? It was worth trying something way different, and it was delicious. Our server Sarah was very good on a busy night before the Fleetwood Mac concert at Xcel. Thanks, we'll be back.
Have been to Pazzaluna before but the Service (great server!!) and the food was exceptional this visit.
Always a great experience. Outstanding food and service.
Seated next to a large group that made it impossible to have a conversation. Table was also next to a vent that blew cold air making us very uncomfortable. We should not have been seated where we were.
Waitress was exceptionally busy taking care of the large group and other guests. It took a very long time to receive our orders and waitress indicated she was trying to locate our dinners. She eventually found them but both the chicken piccata and shrimp linguine were dried out from sitting under a heat lamps. The kitchen manager should never have allowed these plates to get to our table.
Overall a poor experience
Went with friends for the 20 year anniversary specials. I thought it would be a bigger deal. There was one throwback menu on our table and it was never brought up or made into some special occasion. We never got our appetizers from that case, which is a weird concept anyway. Slow service. My chicken piccata was just ok. Dissapointed, usually have better experience here!
Food was good but the service was very bad. One of the worst experiences I’ve had with service. We were greeted when we sat down by the waiter and then it took him like 10 minutes before coming back. We ordered a drink and our food and then received bread a little later and never the drink. We got our food very fast and didn’t get to enjoy the drink because I had to ask again for the drink and got it 5 minutes after our food. The service was still awful the rest of the night and I had to go out of my way to get anything and the check took forever to get. Ruined the night.
Pazzaluna is a great place to go before a play or concert at the Ordway.
