Food was good except for the corn chowder. tasted like you opened a can of corn and ate it. It was not a chowder. Other items that we ordered were good (Carrot lox, Salad, roasted chicken)

The experience was good but the waitress was a bit odd. She was unwilling to make recommendations to us about what to order. She was a bit snarky and made our experience less enjoyable. The food was good and the ambiance was pleasant.

The menu items are sparse, so I'm wondering why Baby Vegetable Crudite is still on the menu in the fall. It's not really baby vegetable season. What we got were large chunks of carrot and radish, and there wasn't a lot of sauce. I'd still recommend the place, but this was odd.

Terrible place: we ordered beer and two dishes and only one came. We waited and waited and finally had to go find a server to ask where the other dish was. 10 min later a server came and sort of admitted that our server - who left for a break after we got our only dish - had failed to communicate with the kitchen for half of our order. We paid and left after nearly an hour. No tip and never to return!

The Drawing Board was a beautiful space with plants and natural materials, in a chic and comfortable setting. The lighting, especially over the bar, was beautiful and the flowers and candles on each table were a perfect touch. Most of he food was good, especially the Corn Chowder which was exceptional. Some of the food had more bitter flavors than I care for, such as the chopped greens on the tacos. The Sweet Potato Glass Noodles gets very high marks for creativity, but too much "sauce" and had an odd bitter taste which I couldn't place. Would definitely go back and try more, especially the creative cocktails.

We did not know what to expect with The Drawing Board. It’s not really a restaurant: no entrees or multi-course meals. The food choices were very limited so it was a good thing we weren’t famished. The cocktails were interesting, the plates were tasty and a good portion for a light meal, and the desserts were good. Our server was attentive without being intrusive and answered all our questions. We had an enjoyable experience. If we lived in the area, we might return for a drink and/or a light meal.

Not the best experience at one of my favorite restaurants that I recommend to many. Service was scattered with only one server visible, and at least one of the entrees was tasteless and gluey. This made me sad. Since this was a get together with friends, we did not complain at the time but thought you should know. Never saw a manager type person to speak with.

The high ceilings, pseudo vine-chandeliers, and dim lights accompanied with twinkling lights provided a classic rustic and vineyard-y fell to the atmosphere. The food and service was also very pleasant, which seems to be hard to come by in most restaurants. They are definitely doing dining right. Also, the restaurant decor would serve for great ig candids.

The food was so good. Simple dishes and simple presentations but the quality was superb. So much flavor in every dish. But the crafted cocktails were the real star. The best we've had outside of San Francisco. We even had a custom drink made and it was better than we could have hoped for. Can't wait to go back!

Love this spot. The food is super fresh & tasty. Drink menu is creative & fun.
Prices could be a tad less, but hopefully they will realize that & adjust things a bit.
Overall, a great addition to Petaluma’s dining scene.

The menu was eclectic and very good, but the price is for each item was beyond reasonable. I had the black cod entree and found out later that each dish ordered was $25. That was for maybe 3 ounces of fish. My check was about $225 and I thought later where in Petaluma I could have gone.

I was just completely underwhelmed. Bar menu (drinks) looked great for those who want an interesting cocktail. But food was just OK. Menu very limited, service was fine. They were out of an item on the menu (we were at 6:30 pm and the place was pretty empty when we got there). They tout themselves as being vegetarian friendly and my vegetarian friend had very few choices. She had "carrot" tacos. Absolutely nothing to brag about. Very greasy tempura battered asparagus. My fish was very nice and the side preparations were very good and interesting. Just not enough for me to go back.

Beautiful space and really tasty food. We went for brunch where the avocado toast and sweet potato noodles were the stand out dishes. Service was attentive but not overly so. It’s a long drive but the memories of the meal elicit the desire to make the long trip back to see what’s for dinner.

This was an off night in the kitchen. The carrot lox were fairly awful, not up to the usual standard at all. The roast chicken was soggy. The brisket tacos were dry and in need of seasoning. The fennel soup was under-flavored compared to a week before (when a friend ordered it). As a generally pleased regular this is hard to report.

On a positive note, the server (Natasha) was friendly and fun and made up for much with delightful energy.

Very limited menu, which is OK is everything is presented and prepared with outstanding quality. The best items I have enjoyed at The Drawing Board were a hamburger and a hearty stew when they first opened up. I have been there three times since and have been underwhelmed. Cocktails are interesting. The service has gotten progressively worse. Not bad, just not professional. Slow, not aware of what needs to be done, not trained. They need to step it up if they are going to compete with other restaurants in Petaluma. I would recommend other restaurants in Petaluma to friends at this time.

One of my most favorite restaurants in Petaluma since the day it opened. The menus (drinks and food) are created with such care and passion. Rosie and her people truly understand local, seasonal, and high quality (hormone free, chemical free, local purveyors) ingredients. There are a few delicious staples on the menu as well as brand new dishes each time we visit. It's fabulous whether you are vegan or whether you are craving animal proteins. There is an across-the-board love of food and it shows in every way.

I ordered the grass fed beef sliders of which three come to an order with nothing else on the plate for I think $13. Am not such a fan of grass fed. My dining partner had the chicken in cabbage leaves similar to what you might get at a Chinese restaurant but done in a different way, she did not really enjoy her’s with the blue cabbage.
The cocktails are fantastic! Great bartender.
The ceiling has hanging boxes of half dead green plants that need to go bye-bye. Windows were filmy. Not sure I would return.

The Drawing Board is a great restaurant. I have taken 3 different friends there and they agree the food is creative and delicious and I like that they use local ingredients. The handcrafted cocktails are great, the service is friendly, efficient and really outstanding. The restaurant is clean and decorated artistically. I recommend this restaurant to all my friends. I hope you start opening up for lunch on Fridays soon.

This was the second time I've been to The Drawing Board but it's been about a year. I really need to come back more often! The experience was wonderful! We had an amazing server - Jacob and everyone worked as a team to provide excellent service. The food was a "10". We had the deviled eggs and fennel soup to start, then the sliders and the asparagus and barrata. All amazing. Then the chocolate pot du cream for dessert. The only challenge was the noise level - intense! I hope they find a way to muffle the noise a bit. All in all - I need to go back soon!

Our party of four enjoyed delicious food and unique cocktails. Particularly recommend the chickpea "fries" and tempura asparagus. The restaurant offers something of a tapas-like menu, with appetizers, small and large plates which may be shared so everyone can sample. Our server was excellent - helpful, friendly, knowledgeable. We particularly loved the appetizers and small plates, a bit mixed reviews on the large plates. I ordered the tacos with pulled pork and they were on the dry side, though a bottle of house-made sauce was offered which I added, I found the meat itself dry and bland. A friend had the tasty beef sliders and another ordered the lamb which had an amazingly unique sauce and was quite delicious. Dessert: special pistachio cake with cream cheese icing was excellent, chocolate pot de creme less so - too liquid and somewhat weak chocolate flavor. Overall, an excellent dining experience. We plan to return!

By far the best place to eat and cocktail in Petaluma. If you like bright flavors, well sourced ingredients and a hip vibe this is the spot. I’ve been many tines. The only problem is that the food comes to fast or often all at once. They need to course the dishes better. The food is amazing but if it all comes at once or b4 you’re done with another dish there isn’t time to savor it.

I have a vegetarian friend who has a difficult time ordering vegetarian dishes at restaurants. I am trying to embrace the plant based regime myself. This restaurant was recommended via Facebook. Although we enjoyed the choices we made from the menu, we also thought it was very pricey. The prices did not make up for the lack of volume in food. For instance, my husband ordered the Pea & Pistachio Pesto on whole wheat spaghetti with pickled shirataki mushrooms ($19) & it was served in a very small plate. He said it was flavorless & had to ask for salt. The Carrot Lox was delicious with a wonderful smoky flavor, but was more like an appetizer & listed under "Small Plates." Cocktails had interesting names for their concoctions & ran $12-13, as well as wines. So, in my opinion, this was more like a pricey tapas establishment & while I was glad I tried it, & I enjoyed the food "samples," I wouldn't return. I would recommend this restaurant create well rounded meals because to order samples of food is like ordering a bunch of expensive side orders. Not worth it to my pocketbook, especially for plant based foods.
