Provecho - Latin Provisions
Fri, Sat 4:00 pm–11:00 pm
Sun 4:00 pm–8:00 pm
It took about five minutes for our waiter to come. It was very noisy and it was hard to hear. I understood that the menu was designed to share between your dinner party, but I did not like the appetizers, soup and meal all coming within minutes of each other.
Amazing Food! Great Service! Hand Crafted Cocktails!
Date night with my wife. Everything was exceptional! We had the guacamole #1, we tried all four of the tamales, and had a side of the sweet plantains. We finished with the homemade churros dessert. That was more than enough food! We left stuffed! We each had one cocktail, as well. My wife had the black and gold, I had the sunken ship; both tasty and well-presented. Our server was excellent, the hostess was delightful, and we’ll definitely be recommending Provecho to friends. Chicago-style decor, quality, service—and, oh yeah—Chicago-style price. ;)
Unpretentious authentic cuisine. Value for money! Great cocktails and service.
Everything was so great! Food and service was fantastic! Definitely will be back many more times!
Tortilla soup was excellent. The tamales came before we finished our soup. By the time we finished ours out, the tamales were cold. Service was very attentive, and the waitress turned down the music volume when we asked her to do it.
Celebrating my daughters birthday, we love to go to unique places to eat and loved the food at this place!
I thought they were a bit much on the presentation of the food. We ordered a few different items to get a taste of several things. Guacamole, Queso Fundido, Empanadas, and Carnitas. The guacamole came out first and was brought out on a wooden cutting board. On top of that was another wooden box containing oversized tortilla chips and then a small bowl of guacamole. For presentation purposes I imagine, the ingredients weren’t mixed together and they were overflowing. Because of the small bowl, it was kind of a mess to mix together. The taste was just “ok”. The Queso Fundido came out shortly after. This came with “homemade” flour and corn tortillas. They brought that out on another wooden cutting board. Again the board was so big but the Queso serving was pretty small. The tortillas were brought out in a fancy mesh basket. The problem is the tables are pretty small so space was getting tight pretty quickly. The Queso was pretty good. The tortillas were definitely not homemade, so that was disappointing. The empanadas came out shortly after. Again on a large wooden cutting board for a small portion. This became quite cumbersome to fit everything on our table. The boards were getting a bit much. At least the waitress offered to remove them. The overall taste of the empanadas were pretty good. The Carnitas came out. The cutting board now doubled in size! LOL. Every garnish were in individual bowls, along with a larger bowl for the beans and an even larger bowl for the carnitas, all on a wooden board about half the size of our table. We ordered the Half of pound. This was a good amount, although a bit fatty. Beans had a similar taste to Bush’s Baked Beans, so not very impressed. The takeaway: Food was decent. Not what expected, but I’d like to come back and try more of it. The drinks were good. Tables were too small for their style of food presentation.
Our second time at this place, was just as good this time. Tried a few new items, the "newbie" thought it was great as well. Get multiple small dished for everyone to share. Just make sure you tell the server to space them all out so they don't get cold while you are eating the first dishes.
A great place to sit alfresco on a warm October night. The food was good, a couple of home runs and a few misses. The drinks were awesome. Service was excellent. Prices are a little high for downtown Crown Point IN, but it's definitely raising the bar for establishments in the area. We will be back.
Excellent as always and great service by Amanda!
A fantastic evening with fabulous food!
Ashley was our amazing server.
The octopus was very tender.
Ready to go back again!
Very nice cuisine! Chicago-style restaurant in Crown Point. You can tell that the chefs really try to impress with their food and decor! Will definitely be going back!
Let’s start with the great service from our server Ashley S. Would go back just because of her smile. Food and drinks were excellent and exciting. This is a Tapas Restaurant so expect to take your time and enjoy the food.
Yes, it is on the pricey side, but the dining experience is worth it. I have read the negative reviews. That’s to bad because l had a great time and will be going back.
Great food, drinks, and service. We enjoyed so many small plates that we didn’t even get to the large plates this time...
Best dining experience in Crown Point ! Worth the drive from Chicago for us . The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive .
The food is always great here. Top 3 restaurant in the region...best restaurant in Crown Point. My only complaint was how long it took to get the small plate items out of the kitchen. The last time we were here, they came out shortly after we ordered. This time it took forever to get our orders. We ordered 4 small plates in total. Items like octopus, empanadas, and tacos should come out very quick but we waited a half hour in between each and the place wasn’t real busy. I highly recommend the octopus. Hopefully the next time I go the kitchen is on their game.
This was a first time dining experience here. The food and service was very good. The high top table for four was not comfortable - but overall, we would return.
We were totally surprised by this dining experience. The restaurant is beautiful! The food was just amazing- I expected boring Mexican, and what I got was fabulous Spanish and south American flavors. The variety of choices was fantastic. And the service was outstanding- we never needed anything. I can't wait to go back!!!
The food and drinks here are incredible. We went on Saturday afternoon and sat in the bar. There were very few people in the restaurant at this time. Only issue was the kitchen was surprisingly slow at a time when few customers. However, everything is cooked to order, super fresh and delicious. Don’t be in a rush. We will definitely be back.
Very disappointed. The place is overrated. Food below expectations. Service slow. Pricy for amount of food you get.
Food was OK. Portions somewhat small and overpriced for the money, considering they touted the larger sizes as 'sharable'. Surprised to find they did not offer cappuccino or espresso as an after dinner drink. Coffee only.
My new favorite tapas place and I don’t have to go to the city. Only took a picture of the snapper which was fantastic. Tapas were excellent also
The Chris and his team at Provecho have outdone themselves. The food and cocktails are the best on the square. I’ll be referring to everyone I know.
What a wonderful experience here! Great food, great staff!
We were celebrating my husband's birthday and wanted to try something new and different. That certainly was the case here. Very contemporary ambiance, we were seated right by a window which I love. Our waitress was attentive and charming although we did have some trouble hearing her. Although it wasn't crowded, there were some loud people near by. The margaritas were outstanding, we each got a different kind but liked them both very well, however be aware, they are strong. We split two small plates and one large but when we go again, we'll just have small plates, they were perfect for trying different things.
Interesting options, had small plates & large plate. All were excellent!
Its was a great experience! The service was amazing the food was well crafted and was a beautiful presentation! Will definitely go back and will recommend it to others!
We were here for the first time and enjoyed a number of small plates (salsa roja, guacamole w/lobster, wood-fired mussels, octopus, steak tacos, empanadas). All were delicious! The wine list is unique and pairs well with the food. Justin works in the bar area and is very helpful with food and wine suggestions.
Fantastic spot. Happens to be in Crown Point, Indiana, but it’s an excellent restaurant for anywhere in the world. Wonderful flavors. The lobster guacamole is one of the best things I’ve ever had!!! Absolutely love this place!!!
The staff was great, so was the wine selection. Food was ok, but was served on fancy wood planks. Our food shifted and some of our sauces flew off the edge onto the table. Planks were large and made it difficult to fit everything on the table, or for all to reach.
Mallah was a great waitress. Had a great time. For noise level, outside great, inside can be too loud
Overall great experience. We will be going back soon!
The food was decent and the presentation was amazing. We were seated in the bar area, which had the same noise level as a Motley Crue concert. It probably doesn’t help that the tables are right on top of each other. Not the best place for date night.
Great addition to Crown Point
Food and service were terrific. Was a bit loud - we'd asked them to turn the music down, which they did, somewhat, but the noise level increased again as more other diners were seated. Good value by Chicago standards - prices are lower than equivalent restaurants in Chicago, but only OK value by Northwest Indiana standards. We were excited to find a restaurant of this quality, doing exciting food, in this area. Love the diversity of cuisines represented.
Overall, great experience. Ceviche was excellent! Empanadas were tasty, but the ribeye meat in the empanada was tough. Tables could be bigger accommodate the large sharing plates. We will definitely come back and recommend to others.
Our first visit here. It was outstanding! Food was delish. Port was good. Sorbet refreshing. We WILL be back.
From start to finish a very tasty and enjoyable evening!
Great food, drink and atmosphere. A welcomed addition to Crown Point. The noise level in the bar is a bit much which is the only negative. Food is simply outstanding!
