The food is fantastic! I have dinner at this place at least once a month and lunch a couple of times a month. Every time I bring a friend to Tisza for the first time, they become regulars. The service is outstanding!
It felt like we had traveled to San Francisco , to a high end, culturally relevant restaurant. The chef and staff were gracious. Wonderful food!
The food was perfect and the staff amazing.
When I saw that the restaurant was located in a Holiday Inn property I was skeptical. Skepticism misplaced. Great food and service.
Atmosphere is a little cold, but the food and service was great, particularly the chicken with mushrooms. We will go again.
This upscale restaurant is consistantly pleasing. Though the menu is somewhat limited, the dishes are fresh and delicious. The decor is lovely, and, there is in-person piano music several evening a week.
Everything was good. Would have loved it to be great. My wife's rack of lamb was not as tender as she would have liked. But my Goulash was outstanding. The wine list is decent. Service was good.
We love coming back to this restaurant for the quality of food and service.
The check in process seems a little odd almost every time, you are not sure who is the front person and if you need to approach them or wait.
Once you are set at the table though everything is great and everyone is super nice and helpful.
Oscar did a great job for us last Saturday, but the two young ladies working with him were fantastic as well. Glasses were filled with water all the time and the recommended cheesecake was a wonderful finish of our dinner. Both the goulash and roasted chicken breast are a must.
We will be back.
Ask for Oscar he is a great server. He was generous with his time to explain what was in a couple dishes we asked about. Very pleasant experience.
The restaurant is surprisingly amazing for its location at the Holiday inn. Holiday inn not make me think of a quality restaurant and chef such as this. However Menu was great and meals very tasty. All the staff and chef are very nice and approachable.
Pricing was fair.
Will be back for an enjoyable dinner soon.
This is my fifth time to the restaurant and the food is consistently phenomenal.!! Maybe the best food in Sonoma County.
In town for a Board meeting.
After a long day at separate venues a nice quiet meal would be appreciated. Spouse and I were looking for someplace close. Tisza was recommended by Hotel and it was a good one.
Oscar was a phenomenal server, waiter and "recommender". (Listen to him!)
Would recommend if you're in Windsor.
We dine there a lot and the food is always great. Had the salmon for the first time and it was just the way I like it with crispy skin. They potato pancake was also excellent.
Food was excellent. Sadly service was harried, not enough servers for the crowd. Also a large group raised the noise level to an uncomfortable level. The chef came out to apologize which was nice. Go for good food but if crowded you may want return at a different time.
We loved sitting outside with the heaters! Inside was too lid and we hate seeing TV while eating dinner. There is an inside area which is not near the tv. Food was Fantastic !! Loved watching the chef/owner prepare every dish! The only thing i would recommend is white table clothes and candles to warm up the ambiance... the tables felt too cold and too Holiday Inn for such wonderful food!
We will be back-!
We arrived a few minutes early but were seated right away. Good waiter, friendly, fun and knowledgeable. We were there for pleasure and did not feel we were rushed. This is the second time I have dined there and would go again. Reasonable prices, as well as good choice of items to order.
Great food and Nick was an excellent waiter. We will definitely come back.
Don’t let the fact that this is in a Holiday Inn hotel deter you. Excellent food, authentic Hungarian entrees + fresh California fare, great service, good cocktails. We were happily surprised!
Don't let the location deter you from this restaurant! It is one of the best in the county, the food comparable to John Ash. The staff are friendly and attentive and know how to make you feel welcome, including the chef who took the time to ensure our steaks were cooked to perfection! (and they were)
We left filled with excellent food and the feeling that they were looking forward to seeing us again soon! (and they will)
Wonderful food, but still a bit of a learning curve on service and detail. No small forks for mussels or shrimp. One server was wearing too much scent....I mentioned it to the gentleman who appeared to be management. Server was charming, but needs experienced. She came close to spilling hot mussels and broth in my lap. I didn't say anything, but... I will return for the food. I think once they've been open for a while, they'll work out the kinks.
Surprisingly good Eastern European food, large servings in an open, well-lit room in a roadside motel. The schnitzel was huge, its coating delicate.
It was an amazing experience, second time I ate there! Fabulous food!
Our second visit, and the place continues to impress. The food was delicious and creative, good service, and a fantastic value. We LOVE this spot!
Had read reviews about this restaurant, all which were good. Had a friend in town so decided to try it. Didn’t realize it was inside the new Holiday Inn in Windsor, not that it mattered. We sat near the window where the food came out from the kitchen. The first thing I noticed were the portion sizes, very substantial. My husband and I ordered appetizers which not only were delicious but filled us up. Our friend vascillated between a Chicken or Petrale Sole entree. The waitress said the chicken was her favorite, so he ordered it and loved it. Didn’t find the noise level too bad at all. Also have limited outside seating. Would definitely recommend to friends which have already done.
The food was fantastic! We all had duck confit which was cooked perfectly and the vegetable accompaniment was delicious!
Really nice restaurant, we will return, really enjoyed the food. Parking not great and the entrance a bit confusing because it is a Holiday Inn as well.
Great food but not hot enough. Out of 4 meals, only one came to the table hot. We also ordered 1 'share' dish, a great concept by the way, and that too was only warm. Restaurant was not busy enough for this to be a problem.
Finally, I had a 6:30 reservation, arrived 15 minutes early, restaurant and bar NOT busy at all. I was not addressed or seated for 5-10 minutes. I just stood there at the entrance waiting. Several couple came and went, tired of waiting I suppose. Need better staffing, only 1 wait person and 1 bar person.
Wait person was excellent.
Food was exceptional in taste and presentation, and also the service.
Been to lunch and now dinner. Both were very good but lunch was much quieter. Both times the owner/chef came to our table and interacted. (Very nice) We will make this one of our regulars that's for sure.
I would say the food is better than the service we had a reservation the hose had to continually ask us our name and the number of our party and we had a party of four. The food was good basic our service was awful when I go back probably not
Don’t let the fact that this resteraunts is in th seamen building as a Holiday Inn . They are not associated, the food is awesome and the service was great. A must do if you are stayin in Windsor.
Don’t let the fact that this restaurant is in a Holiday Inn stop you from going! Food was fabulous, we had lunch during our trip up the valley and food was outstanding!
I didn't realize it was in the Holiday Inn. The service was excellent but I was expecting a nicer restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, the service was excellent.
Such a great restaurant! Amazing service and the food was even better!
We found the menu, and the dishes we chose to order, gourmet perfect! The lamb shank. The petrale sole. The mussels were the best we ever tasted and they were also beautiful and big.
Several different wineries in the area highly recommended Tisza, and we wish we had
dined here sooner.
The service was great and the food excellent. Highly recommend dining at Tisza, we will
definitely be eating there again.
Great food. good variety in the menu. Owner/chef Christian knows what he is doing. Only suggestion I have is:
1 - Completely close off the opening from the patio to the street - - too much wind and vehicle noise
2 - Put some sound absorbing materials on the floor and walls of the indoor restaurant. The hard surfaces reflect and increase the noise level, which is pretty high.
OMG! What a way to start our vacation with friends. We all agreed, best food we have had in a long time. Service was wonderful. Would recommend Tisza highly.
Food preparation and presentation always a wonderful experience.
We often go here for lunch however we decided to try dinner. Lunches are amazing, dinners are spectacular!!! We shared the lamb shank and it literally melted in your mouth!!
No attention to detail, the lighting structures had cob webs all over them. Mediocre food.
Don't let Holiday Inn setting fool you. A warm modern ambience with creative dishes and very friendly service. Chef has a creative European background and the mushroom chicken with perfect spaetzle was out of this world.
