Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar – Glen Mills
Not Your Average Joe's Glen Mills
Fri, Sat 11:00 am–1:00 am
Just had a great meal there to celebrate two family birthdays. The place was almost empty, maybe because we went during an Eagles game. The waiter was very nice and friendly and the bartender came over and was goofing around with my 3 year old, it was adorable! It’s very kid-friendly. Margaritas were excellent, tableside guacamole very good. Our group loved the quesadilla, tostada and carnitas tacos. My husband wasn’t crazy about the carne Asada tacos, which were kind of bland, but we will definitely be back because everything else was great. It would be nice if you could mix & match the tacos but that was not an option, although the waiter said they were working on that.
Food was very good, nice atmosphere, casual and fun. However service was disappointing.
I was very disappointed in the service. Took a very long time for someone to come to our table. We had to go to the hostess twice asking why we had not been served yet. Once the waitress came she was not that friendly and it took her a long time to get our drinks to us. We had to ask her what the specials were. Once we got our appetizer it then took a very long time to get our dinner. This is not my first time at this restaurant. Our service in prior visits was very good. The service we received Friday night was very bad. Hoping it was an anomaly. I doubt my friends will go back. The food has been great the few times I've been here. I'll try it again for that reason but, if we experience the same service again, we will not go back
Food was very good, however they were out of short rib which was a disappointment and our server was terrible. She was very forgetful and did not come to check and see how our food was or if we needed anything.
We had chicken enchiladas....the chicken had no flavor and both of our meals were lukewarm at best. We did not send it back. I guess we should have complained.
Disappointing because the place has potential! The guacamole and short rib quesadilla were delish. The fish tacos were bland, pork tacos extremely dry, and grilled octopus had a strange taste to it. Our server was very nice but service was extremely slow considering the restaurant was also relatively empty. Sad to say we will not be going back here :(
Went for the drink advertised happy hours specials. When seated was told it was only available at the bar. Our waitress was able to get Management to honor the prices at the table—good job on her part. The frozen margarita I ordered was piled about 2-3” high with ice and the liquid part of the drink tasted like water—too much ice and not enough flavorings. Again the waitress worked her magic and excahanged it for a drink on the rocks. It was much better as you could taste the ingredients. The chips and salsa served before the meal were very good. We ordered two types of tacos neither of which was very tasty. The carnitas in the taco was not browned and tasted porky. We also ordered a stuffed pepper—Chile relleno— which was not crispy and didn’t have much taste. All in all we won’t be going back. Tolteca up the street has very good carnitas served with 3 tortillas and rice and retried beans.
Wild crowd at the bar.
Noise level was that of a sports bar.
Children running around unsupervised.
You would think employee's or management would have stepped in.
The food was OK at best. The kicker was the bill. It was that of a 5 Star restaurent.
Saw a great article about the restaurant in a local magazine, and since my wife and I are always on the hunt for fresh, authentic Mexican food, we decided to try. The location is in a new strip mall on Route 202 just north of the Delaware-Pennsylvania border, and the noise is more from the road than from the clientele or staff. We sat outside, were immediately and delightfully greeted. The adult beverages are top shelf. While you have to pay for the chips and salsa, they are obviously fresh made and well above what you typically get. We ordered their tacos - terrific! Not the best ambiance due to the road noise, but it’s a great little restaurant with terrific service and first rate food. We will be back.
Our lunch was good. Probably the best Mexican so far in Wilmington. Service was very good and efficient.
The two things that did catch my attention were the tortillas which seemed to be store bought. I would have expected house made in such a more upscale place. The second thing I would change immediately is the flatware. The Matt finish bothered me, it looks like the knives and forks were place in an acid bath. Strange.
Great place for date night! Food and service were great!
The atmosphere is very pretty although it can get a little loud when the restaurant is full. There were five of us and everyone loved their entree. We ordered a variety of food from mole chicken to sopes to enchiladas. We also ordered a pitcher of margaritas which was more than enough for 4 of us. The service was a little slow at the beginning but our server was definitely hustling and checked back with us often. We would definitely go again.
Very happy once again. Guac is fantastic and affordable on the happy hour menu. Spicy shrimp tacos are a nice mix of spicy and sweet. The only thing that could use some improvement would be the carnitas tacos....not bad but could use some more flavor. I had the pomegranate blue (I think) mojito which was delicious and not too sweet. Lucky was our server and she was great. We'll definitely be back.
Our pitcher of frozen margaritas were watered down, the shrimp quesadillas came out soggy, rib-eye empanadas were decent, but slightly undercooked. The middle of the empanadas had a slight chill. Our waiter tried her best to accommodate the kitchen mishaps, but that visit will be my first and last visit.
Loved the spicy tacos and queso! The margaritas were delicious!!!
Food was bland as were the servers. Waitress spilled some of my husbands margarita on the way to table but still served it that way. Ambiance and decor was nice but I’ve had better Mexican food elsewhere.
Been there a few times now and it's been great each time. Highly recommend!
Not a very good restaurant, food was terrible, expensive. Service was average
Greeted by owner, nice decor...comfy and casual. Food was fresh and flavorful
Decided to check this spot out for dinner and were very pleasantly surprised with it. Ambiance is decent-to-good for a suburban spot and the seating was comfortable. Cocktails were above average and clearly hand poured not from a mix. Our waitress, Lucky, was very good. The tableside prepared guacamole was tasty as was my entree. My husband also really loved his. Food has a bit of an El-vez feel to it (I like that—others may have a different view). It was moderately expensive but not absurd. We definitely plan to return. In sum, a nice addition to the restaurant scene in our area.
We both ordered the spicy shrimp wrapped in bacon which was very good. We also both had Margaritas which were weak and overall tasteless. Otherwise the experience was very good.
Chips and salsa were excellent. Enter was very well done. Service was ok, could have been much better in terms of quickness and responsiveness.
Slow and poorly trained service, food came out cold, weak and small cocktails- overall really dissatisfied especially given the cost
The nachos here are amazing! I love the atmosphere of this place, it is very colorful and inviting. Our server Leslie, was awesome, she was knew the menu very well and was super friendly. The flight of tequilas were good too. I would highly recommend this place, the food is great, I had enough left over for lunch the next day. Oh, get the corn side.
My wife and I had a wonderful early dinner. The restaurant was not busy, and our service was friendly and prompt. Food, from the chips and salsa to our entrees (chile relleno and enchiladas) was excellent, with large portions reasonably priced and delicious!
We will return.
I thought the margarita was just average, I like my margaritas in a margarita glass not a water glass.
Guacamole was excellent, though over priced for the amount you got. Tacos, we had shrimp and pork, the shrimp were better than the pork, pork had little to no taste. Rice was very good.
Service was very good. Will try it again just for the guacamole, and something different on the menu.
Avocado sopas and mahi mahi tacos are delish!! Excellent service. Outside patio is great!
We tried LaPina because we were looking for a fun rehearsal dinner venue for my son's upcoming wedding. We enjoyed the food, the waitess was very nice and knowledgeable, and we liked the atmosphere; however, we waited a very long time for our main courses which consisted of tacos and a fajita bowl. There were only 4 of us in our party, and the restaurant was not busy at all on a Sunday night.
The waitress did realize that we were waiting far too long and was nice enough to provide us with a complimentary dessert tray, which was delicious , but unfortunately we cannot take a chance with a much larger private party so we will keep looking for a rehearsal dinner venue. That being said, my husband and I will most likely return because we really enjoyed the food and drinks.
We went to La Pina for dinner. The food was not your typical Mexican fare. The red sangria was very good. I had the spicy shrimp tacos and my family had the chicken and beef. Everyone thought they were great. The tortilla chips seem home made and were crunchy. The service was great. Itis small so I would make reservations.
Such a clean and cozy Mexican cantina. Funky decorations and authentic menu. Very friendly and attentive attentive service.
Wish the salsa was hotter, but we liked the food.
Overall a great place. Will definitely be back.
Extremely slow service- we waited for our drinks for at least 20 minutes. Which appears to be a bartender issue- because there was no one at the bar and only a few tables full- so not sure what the delay was. 2 out of three of our orders were wrong. The table side guacamole and the chips were very good. Upon paying we gave an extra 20 to be broken because we needed more than just our change for the tip. Change came back $20 short- turned into an issue asked for the manager who apparently can never be found according to the bartender- or he refused to come out. Either way our $20 was eventually found. Unfortunately, yet another poorly managed restaurant has opened. We had a good experience a month or so ago by sitting at the bar with a much more professional bartender but tonight (father’s day) was a hot mess. And considering it was practically empty- there is no excuse.
Four of us went to watch a World Cup game, have brunch, and enjoy a gorgeous Sunday. We all had different dishes [savory, sweet, brunch, lunch] and drinks and even enjoyed a tequila flight.
The drinks are always yummy and the tequila flight was nice as well. We left it up to David to choose the three tequilas, but we asked for 1 blanco and 2 anejo as our only stipulation. We weren't disappointed.
The table-side guacamole is really great and you may request the ingredients and the heat level that fits your palate.
The staff are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. They don't rush you and they don't make you wait for anything. I haven't had a bad experience there and I always recommend this place to my friends, even though it's new.
The bar is great to sit and talk, watch sports, and eat. If you have a large group, they'll accommodate you in the private dining area that can be closed off from the main dining area.
They have patio dining with umbrellas as well. They also have a children's menu and children's night, if you're looking for a great place.
It wasn’t crowded at all, we had a party of 7. The waiter was knowledgeable and made good recommendations. Definitely want to go again!
This was our second visit and it was as good as the first in every way. The only negative was the cocktail special: mango and jalapeno mojito. Not good.
While the restaurant is very nice inside and the service is good, we were very disappointed in the food.
It is still a somewhat new restaurant, so hopefully things will improve. The decor is nice, the people are friendly, the food is pretty good, but the service is quite slow.
Food was ok. Service was poor; 4 waiters were busy having a conversation for 10+ minutes while we were trying to get their attention to order
The creativity of the menu was good but It would be worth fine tuning either which ingredients you chose to put together into one dish or possibly the proportions of the ingredients. It also would be good to have a few gluten free options, corn based tortillas not cooked with other gluten foods or in the same fryer. Then don't dim the lights so much it became very dark. The staff was very friendly though. We're hoping this is just growing pains of a new restaurant and wish the best for its future as things are worked out!
Food was just ok. Chicken mole was not good...had no flavor. Salsa tastes like spaghetti sauce but chips are good. Would go back for happy hour. Margarita mix tasted like a skinny girl margarita.
