   The Hamilton boasts an ambitious menu including sushi. The yellowtail carpaccio was very good; I would consider it sashimi as it was thick slices with a light citrus sauce. Our server was pleasant and helpful. The bread is good. Our entrees, steak, were ok. I think there are better options in DC.

   The Hamilton is my go-to spot when I have visitors from out of town for three main reasons. One: The food is consistently delicious and there is something on the menu for all types of cravings. Two: The location is fun for exploring before or after you dine! Three: The ambience inside the restaurant is lively, yet stately!

   When family and friends come to town The Hamilton is one of my favorite spots to take them. The food is excellent, the service always great and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.

    Good crab cake. Filet was good, especially with adding carmelized onions and mushrooms. Servers seemed overwhelmed and the service was slow.

    Received dirty glass after dirty glass. When me and my partner sat down at our table we were greeted by two very dirty glasses. In addition both of the bourbons I ordered came in glasses with sticky spots. In addition my partner was given a dirty napkin with a large sauce stain on the underside did not appear to have been laundered.

    The Hamilton is more about experience than food in my opinion. It's a massive restaurant, so that may be why I felt the food was just ok for what we paid. There wasn't anything wrong with it, but it was just average tasting. I think it's probably a good option if you are going to a play and need something convenient, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back just to eat there. The 4 of us had the potato wrapped flounder, shrimp and grits, filet, and steak and frites. Everything was just ok and our bill was $300 each had one cocktail and one app.

    Friendly service, but VERY, VERY slow; waited almost 30 min for main course and then 30 min for dessert. Server stopped by once to check on us, but was never around to refill soft drinks or water bottle, so glasses were often empty, especially since the iced tea glasses were very small. We had to ask multiple servers to find our server and send her over.

    We ate outside on a lovely day, so it was fun to watch people go by. The food was good, but not perfect (of course that's very subjective). I would go back.

    It was supposed to be a celebration of two birthdays with our daughter and son-in-law visiting from Scottsdale Arizona. We sat at our table for an eternity before the wait staff brought water and a bit longer for the gentleman to take a drink water. Then it was a good bit longer before the drinks appeared. We ordered promptly, and three of the orders came out correctly. One did not, and had to go back to the kitchen to be remanufactured. It just wasn’t the best experience. Which was disappointing, because we had had dinner there the night before and it was quite good with a brilliantly attentive server. The food at the Hamilton is nothing special, which is too bad because other restaurants in this group are special. They need to pull up their socks and go for some consistent good food and proper attention paid to the diner.

    Everything about the experience was wonderful! In town for a short visit. Our server, Ziti,was PHENOMENAL. She made sure we were able to be seated outdoors, had a command and was fully knowledgeable of the menu making great recommendations for both food and drink. Every restaurant should have a Ziti.

    If you go, I’d recommend the gooey cake and the Hamilton burger. We also had the chipotle bean burger and fried calamari, which were subpar. The fries also tasted stale and were nothing to write home about. But overall positive experience because of the delicious Hamilton burger and gooey cake!

    Overall, a positive experience, and our server, Courtney, was very friendly and helpful with her knowledge of the menu, recommendations, etc. There was, however, a gentleman at the restaurant, presumably the manager (in a suit), whose behavior I found off-putting on two occasions. First, as we stood right by the hostess, we overheard him speaking against sitting people early. We were there 10 minutes early for our reservation, and while it wasn’t 100% clear he was speaking about us, it sure sounded like it. Meanwhile, no eye contact, no smile, nothing. Shortly after we were seated, this same gentlemen walked by our table and abruptly (borderline-slammed) a water bottle on our table. He did not look at us (in fact, looked away from the table as he did this) and did not say a word. Overall, it was a pleasant evening, but - manager or not - anyone who behaves this way inevitably makes one feel a bit unwelcome. Take it for what it’s worth… We will probably return on our next visit to DC, but this classless behavior isn’t what one expects at Panera - never mind at a more upscale restaurant.

    We always make a visit to The Hamilton when we’re in DC! The food is fresh, flavorful, and the menu offers something for everyone. Any restaurant that can handle a Cubano, Salmon bento box, a milkshake, and a burger within 20 minutes gets our family 5 star vote!

    Absolutely fantastic. Our server Robert Haggarty was one of the best waiters I have ever had in my life. Not only did he answer all of my tables many many questions about allergies and foot intolerances (which we're expertly handled), he also provided some fantastic conversation and was just an overall great guy. The food was good too, but the service was the reason why my friends and I will be visiting the restaurant (or another in the group) for a weekly dinner in the future.

    This really wasn’t a good evening or experience. Unless you want a drink at the charming bar, I would not recommend. The server was personable however, being seated by a makeshift bussing station -with clanking silverware, plates heavily tossed into bins, followed by glasses of water being poured into pitchers was really obnoxious. It was continuous. Made conversation nearly impossible. It was that loud. We get it, it’s a restaurant, so we expect the noise, people are working hard to get you in and get you out. However the food… The oysters were prepared as described, but seem to have be en obliterated, making us both question if they were there. 3 out of 4 were there- but the other seemed to have gone AWOL. We “smiled it off” and waited for the main. The order was hurriedly dropped at the table and was wrong. When the order is wrong, then the customer has to either be a jerk, or settle. I hate that. The signature “Hamilton burger” was really disappointing. The egg, which looked like something from Denny’s, very commercial, was sitting on the side of the plate as if it were in time out. Rare was grey, the wrap was a bun, and it took some time to flag down condiments to make it appeasing. 2 orders, same thing, both wrong. By the time the server came round - he did spot it immediately- bun not lettuce- we sloughed it off because we wanted out. It’s a beautiful property, with beautiful pictures on Open Table , but if your looking for a nice dinner in DC, I would think twice.

    Some of us got fish and they loved it. One of us got a hamburger and it was the plainest thing I have eaten in a long time. The last person for the gnocchi and thought it was pretty good. Our waiter was great and I loved that they immediately asked if there were any food allergies they needed to be aware of since one person in our party is gluten intolerant.

    The steak was excellent, calamari was good, the truffle fries were OVERWHELMINGLY seasoned so I couldn’t finish them. The gooey cake dessert was a solid dessert, while the drinks were very good

    Our waiter was great and while most of the food was good the steak my daughter ordered tasted like bad fish leaving a really bad after taste. It was very unpleasant then made her really sick to her stomach. We sent the steak back and while we weren't expecting anything other than having it taken off of our bill still would have thought someone would have followed up with us or something. Too many options in DC these days to put up with bad food and lack of customer service.
