Great vibe and great food. Fries came out a little cold but they were really good still. We would come back.
Great place for lunch, dinner, brunch or late night! Service is great and the food is fantastic!
The food was okay but I found it overpriced and very small portions. I probably wouldn’t run back there but a fabulous atmosphere.
Fiance and I went for lunch, I ordered the french toast. It was decent, but the eggs are powdered. The hash was good. Ok overall but nothing fancy.
Great salads for lunch. I loved the interior look and feel of the restaurant.
LOVE this place more and more with each visit.
Chose this restaurant for its proximity to a concert venue and for its good reviews. The food was good (calamari and shrimp appetizer was excellent, salmon entree was very good but too salty). The seating was very cozy (almost too cozy, the tables were crammed so close together). What killed the experience however, was the waiter who was MIA most of the time, and the fact that they were out of coffee (how is that possible?!) and out of one of their dessert options. It ended up being a moot point however, since the waiter took so long to return to our table, we were going to be late for our show and just asked for the bill. The hostess was very nice and accommodating, however, and the valet was excellent. It's worth a try if in the area for a show, but not worth a special trip.
Service was bad. We felt ignored/forgotten. Got our food before we got our drinks. Part of our order was missing. Waiter never came by to check on us; we always had to flag him down. After we finished our meal, we sat for so long waiting for a dessert offering that we simply got tired of waiting, so we flagged him down to get us our check. The service ruined our night out.
The food was excellent! And our server was so attentive and knowledgeable.
Beautiful room, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Only complaint is food was very salty.
Very disappointed. Had a 6pm reservation for a Friday .. they were not busy multiple downstair tables available however we were taken upstairs and sat right next to another table. The other table looked like they were having a business meeting and the area did not look open. Went back to hostess and requested to be sat downstairs which they finally accommodated. Ordered a glass of Chardonnay... it was served warm.
Sent it back and watched a waitress swirl multiple ice cubes into the glass... she brought the wine back several minutes later claiming it had enough time to “chill”... it had obviously been cooled with ice cubes. So now it was watered down too. I kept the wine and said nothing... at some point it’s not worth the effort.
Great unique, delicious food and service that matched the food with a good value on top of that. A gem in downtown Houston!!!
The building is the best thing about this restaurant but pictures online can do just fine. I would not recommend eating here if you expect even average service. The waiter seemed annoyed the entire time and everything took twice as long as it should have. Food was cold when it arrived and pork not cooked through. Drinks were good but refills were hard to come by. Honestly, you could enjoy those same drinks from the grocery store. Sad but true. This could be a cool place if the service and food matched the ambiance.
The food was great but the service was very slow. 30 minutes for 1st drink is unacceptable.
This was my 4th visit-never disappoints! Interesting cocktail selection. Appetizers were delicious. Had the French Dip sandwich-YUM!
I’ve been to Hearsay several times, and had been satisfied . Last two visits have been unfortunately disappointing. Food was over cooked, service was very slow.
Took relatives from out of town there and were lucky enough to sit upstairs where it is a bit less noisy. Eclectic menu and we all enjoyed it.
There was a seminar going on upstairs, with a loud microphone, that never stopped the entire time we were there. The service seemed very slow. Our server was nice but not attentive. The food was just OK. I would not recommend this restaurant or return.
Great place! Beautiful ambience and delicious cuisine.
Fabulous food and great atmosphere. Outstanding drinks
The ambiance and live music was great and the food was good but i was very disappointed with their service. We were seated upstairs and our server disappeared for extended periods of time. I was given the wrong order, and it took 40 mins for them to bring me my correct order! Meanwhile, i watched from above as people came in, ordered and received their food. All I received was a quick, “sorry”. This was AFTER we went downstairs to track down our server. I really wanted to love this place but this was the worst service I have received at a restaurant in Houston.
Too loud very business lunch! Service was fine but no one willing to cut music volume down so bad choice for lunch desiring conversation.
The ambiance is great and the food makes up for what is otherwise spotty service
Normal, exposed brick, wraps and burgers affair... functional. Nothing special. Nice building.
Our server was excellent and the food & drinks were great. I was annoyed with the TVs playing the Simpsons during our nice evening dinner. If I had known it was going to be half sports bar and half nice restaurant, I would have chosen a different place.
Celebrated my husband's bday. We had a great time. Live music was awesome and we didn't even know there would be love entertainment. Food was great!
Food was really great. Place was very busy but service was still good, very friendly. Definitely would go back.
I ordered Seafood pasta after the server mentioned they ran out of pork chops. Worst decision, the pasta was something that could have come from the frozen aisle section.
The service was great. We sat down and the table was so wobbly that we we’re scared to put our drinks on it. We asked to move, but we’re told the table next to us was taken. After asking a second time and showing the server how bad the table was, she moved us and a gentleman took the table away, fixed it and brought it back.
My husband had orzo with shrimp and lobster that was very good. I got the pork chop and ordered it medium. It was extremely dry and no juice was left in it at all. I had to gut it out because we had tickets to an event and didn’t have time to ask for them to fire another. My husband ordered a drink and the garnish was a grapefruit peel that was also super dry and starting to shrivel up. It would have been better to not garnish the drink at all. The drink tasted good, but we eat and drink with our eyes. I was given a free margarita by our server. Someone ordered it and changed their mind. That was a nice touch considering the other snafus of the evening. We expected more from the Hearsay.
The food was righteous. One of the best HOUSTON has to offer. Outstanding
Wonderful atmosphere with good food and service. Would definitely come back and recommend to others.
Had originally tried to get reservations at the sister location at Discovery Green but was booked for an event. Wound up here and was delighted. The venue is somewhat cramped (my friend and I were stuffed into a small high top in the upstairs corner) but the ambiance is warm, the service outstanding and the food wonderful. Had the jalapeño drink and it was to die for. High recommend!
It was extremely slow service due to not enough wait staff. The guy did the best he could but for the price service did not match
Horrible customer service. Reserved a certain table twice and when arrived both times they gave it away. First time we went they did not check us in to open table. Staying away.
My friends and I dined at Hearsay to celebrate a special birthday. We all had a wonderful time. The food was fantastic, as was the service provided. Although it was a hike for us, Hearsay was worth it! We will definitely be back again (hopefully soon)!
Always a very good experience
Great service, amazing food, and great drinks! Highly recommend!
We had 4 in our party. My son and Daughter in law . Visiting from Birmingham. Great food and excellent service
Ok food but good service
Sebastain the bartender was great! He was very friendly with a really good sense of humor. We felt welcomed the moment we walked through the door. I have visited the restaurant before, but it was very busy that day and the hostess curt. I didn't plan on coming back, but i was in the area and wanted to have lunch with a friend and im happy we did! The food was awesome and the drinks were good.
