Established more than 20 years ago, this stylish, renovated restaurant has an ambiance with dark Mahogany wood paneling, mirrors, and scenic photos of Italy to create a warm and cozy dining experience. Despite such seclusion, Joe G's is clearly sought after: shoppers, families, couples and business types are typically found here. Our specials are truly delicious, the combination of ingredients are distinctively paired creating a succulent dish you will enjoy. You can't go wrong with our standards entrées, which are prepared amazingly fresh to order and our pizzas are an obvious specialty. Love Tony at Joe G's. He truly adds to the experience. Was alitte disappointed in the food this time as my Veal Marsala gravy was abit thin and lacked the Marsala flavor. The Veal was tender and a good portion. We shared a Ceasar Salad, which was excellent. Husband had Linguini with white clam sauce which he enjoyed. For NYC the prices are very good. Will be back next time in NY.

On vacation, our last night. One of those small, excellent places. All Italian from the food to the wait staff. We sat in one of those outdoor, taking up a parking space. Well prepared.

We enjoyed our meal at the restaurant. We elected to eat outside which turned out to be quite enjoyable. Prices seemed to be very reasonable for NYC and the food and service were both very good. Our waited was very friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Was very good because everyone ate outside and we were the only table indoors but the big complaint is that it was cold outside but colder inside because it was not heated.

Great outdoor dining experience! Big tent plus very effective heaters. My salad, snapper and tiramisu were all delicious. My server Tony was awesome. The prices were also very reasonable. Excellent dining option in Midtown West!

Dining outdoors. Food was great. Limo be Chicken and Veal Marsala. I would have given an outstanding but both were alittle salty. Tony was a charmer and made the evening very fun. Will definitely be back when dining I returns. Price very reasonable for NYC.

We made reservations for dinner before attending a concert at Carnegie Hall so and early dinner. The staff was excellent as was the service. We had a great time and even as the restaurant started to fill up we could talk and enjoy or conversations with out having to shout. A great place to dine and have conversation with good food and quite a good wine selection. Tony, our server, was outstanding and very knowledgeable about wine and food. Highly recommended for good Italian food at an excellent price.

I was greeted by the hostess and quickly seated. I ordered a glass of wine and spaghetti carbonara. The hostess brought me bread with olive oil and vinegar. I requested crushed pepper. I noticed the neighboring table had larger wine glasses and pours. The waiter was not friendly. I felt like he gave more attention to larger parties. The water boy who packaged my leftovers was charming.

This is our third time here. Our first and second were 5 stars. Unfortunately this time the food was 1 star. The salmon was way undercooked. The veal Parmesan was tough. Very dissatisfied. The service was friendly as alway but the food not so good.

This basement eatery serves excellent Italian food. We've been eating there for almost 30 years. And it's the rare restaurant quiet enough for conversation. If you can't handle the narrow sreps, there's an elevator in the DaVinci hotel above.

Cozy and delicious!! Authentic Italian cuisine and great value. Wait staff was wonderful and made sure we could finish our meal in a relaxed manner and still be out in time to get to the theatre! Can’t wait to go back.

Great Italian restaurant with portions good enough to share . Had pizza first night and chicken parmigiana 2nd visit and both were delicious and served by Uncle Tony who greeted us the first night and remembered us the second time! Typical downstairs small place that I remember so well from my youth when I lived in New York. Highly recommend!

Good food. Small rolls were delicious and they will bring more if asked. The decor was simple. The entry is downstairs. If stairs are a problem, be sure to ask staff to lead you to the elevator.

We had a great time at Joe G Restaurant. Service was friendly. Food was delicious with hearty portions and very reasonable prices. All the food was well prepared, fresh and hot from the kitchen. We ordered a cold antipasto for 3 that easily served 5 of us. Our main courses ranged from fish to veal to pasta. All were delicious. The tiramisu was light and yummy and the cheesecake was just the right denseness. Drinks were average. Our very nice waiter brought us a complimentary shot of limoncello with dessert! We had a relaxing dinner and would certainly return. I have already recommended Joe G to family.

It was difficult to rate this place. We were so excited to have dinner there. Unfortunately about 5 minutes after placing our order the blackout hit. No one checked on us or came to us to explain the situation. After about 15-20 minutes we just got up and left. This would not deter me from going back though. I would still love to try their food. Love the location and ambiance!

Carbonara was not proper carbonara but some Alfredo sauce instead. Ceiling above my dining table at corner had water damage and was kind of moldy looking. Would not have stayed if we weren’t the only ppl sitting there at 6:30p and it was located in the basement and no way to sneak out. Would not recommend to anyone except ppl on budget but want a dining table and service. That said, the waiter was nice but that’s about it. I regret wasting one if my meals eating here as I would rarely if ever come visit NYC again.

Straight out of a movie set, NYC Italian restaurant: waiters were wearing vests and ties, and any moment now you half expect Lucky Luciano to stroll out of the back with a bag of food to go. One just knows skulduggery has taken place here, just behind one of the doors. Solid Italian-American fair, with wine and cocktails prices for the neighborhood, right around Carnegie Hall, which is where we went after dinner. This is the kind of place people should go to when in NYC. It's soaked in the feeling and history of the city.
