Belgian
Eulogy Belgian Tavern is Philadelphia's Premier Beer & Dining Institution featuring 21 drafts & 300 different bottled beers. The food is award winning & noted for plump, juicy mussels in a variety of beer & other sauces, as well as the city's best hamburger made with seven secret spices & the only authentic double fried Flemish Belgian style fries found in Philadelphia. The restaurant is owned by a Belgian American family from Brugge Belgium & staffed with a few employees on visas from Belgium, two other attributes which make this the authentic Belgian experience.

Rated as the fifth best beer restaurant in the United States by ratebeer.com & winner of numerous awards on citysearch.com with friendly & knowledgeable staff, Eulogy Belgian Tavern is a dining experience you must see to believe.
For the more adventurous call for a seat in the "coffin room", a small room in the back of the second floor where the three tables are coffins. In high demand so call early.

This would be a great choice if you are looking for a frat house atmosphere with terrible service. The floors were sticky, the food greasy, the service lackadaisical.

this place needs a really good clean, look to Monks as your benchmark. Beer was warm, even requested "cold" beer was warm. Server seemed really indifferent but somehow came to light when it came to bringing our bill. It's a pity, really wanted to enjoy this.

Our biggest complaint was that the beer was warm. I spend 4-6 weeks a year in Belgium and they server the beer cold, very cold. Not sure why a "Belgian Tavern" does this. Perhaps it was a fluke the day we were there... The food was excellent as was the service. Very friendly staff and just a lot of fun!

The service was excellent, the Beer was fantastic, food ok, Belgian Fritas and Fish/Chips batter was great, but the fish were just undercooked at bit and the Coke was watery. The place is a real dive, but is unique. Have a beer and the Belgian fries..

Six of their tap lines were down the night we were there. They were all Belgium beers. We were offered local and other nationally distributed beers that you can get anywhere. The waitress then suggested the bottled beer list. That started the "we are out of that one" every time we picked a bottle. It was disappointing to finally be at the Belgium beer mecca only to find out they did not have a good chunk of their Belgium beers available. The food was very good.

A group of old friends and colleagues met at Eulogy for beers and dinner. The mussels and fries are out of this world, and the burgers and other sandwiches we had were very good. The beer selection (especially bottled...) is vast, so if you can't find something you like, its your own damn fault.

Unfortunately we did not enjoy it. We were excited when reading the reviews and menu, so decided to go grab lunch - but it was mistake :/ We should have know when we were the only ones there minus a guy at the bar. The staff was super nice, but the mussles less than sub par - they did not taste good at all. Sorry! We could not eat the food. Good fries... that is about it, but nothing soecial either.

I was shocked the mussels were sandy.... total turnoff for me... they gave me a free beer for my trouble... but did not offer to take them off the check... I had only eaten half of them... first one was sandy then had 2 that were fine... then 2 more with sand... then I left the rest Our other food was quite good... service was decent.

Like most Philadelphia eateries located in old Town homes, Eulogy isn't much to look at, but that just sets it up to blow you away. The frites are killer, especially with the aioli - throw that ketchup away. They have an impressive draft list, and an even more impressive bottle list, so definitely worth checking out.

My food was just ok. Great cheese plate, sausages were tasty, but our mussels were poorly cleaned and were very gritty, which was a surprise for a Belgian-focused spot. Great beer list and reasonably priced for Old City.

This place sucks. Great list of Belgian beers but that's it. Awful service, no utensils, mediocre mussels (house specialty?). Disorganized with a clueless staff. Really disappointed since the place pitches itself as a decent restaurant...If you're looking for a crowded bar with a good list,of beers and a dive-like environment, you may enjoy this place. However, if you're looking for a decent restaurant or a true Belgian style cafe/pub, look elsewhere. Philly has too much to offer than settling for this dump.

This is the place to be for the beer lovers. The offer is impressive, but bear in mind that it is not cheap. If you just want to eat something to go to the beer, the menu doesn't offer too much - the burger was a disappointment - but probably if you want some fancier food, the specialties are worth it. Overall, the atmosphere is friendly, noisy and cheerful.

Eulogy is in a historic building near the waterfront and old city. Great beer selection and good food. Have been to Belgium and visited numerous taverns. Eulogy reminded me of evenings there, which is a seriously good compliment. The staff is friendly and helpful. Bring friends to enjoy it with and you'll have a great time.

Best French fries in the city. Love the copper-topped tables and the crowded, historic olde city atmosphere. For beer & ale drinkers the menu is amazing - must be the most extensive in the city. Easy walk to riverfront after dinner. Great proximity to New Year's Eve fireworks 💥

Food has decreased in quality and taste. I went there for their mussels, but they were not fresh and the sauces were bland. I ordered 3 different mussels and all 3 sauces were not good. Their beer is about the only thing I would go there for from now on.

Having returned to Eulogy sporadically since my first visit in 2011 the food in my opinion is good, can be crowded on a Friday/Saturday night as with any small Tavern/Bar in Old city. 400+ beer flavors and types to choose from, while typically not one for drinking beer in general, I found one that I like. Average around 40-60$ for two. As far as I can tell, the food hasn't changed much and it keeps me coming back as well as that I just like the atmosphere.

I am a huge fan of Belgian beers and when I found out that I was going to Philadelphia, I had to check this place out. I was not disappointed. They have a large selection of bottled beers, not just Belgian and around a dozen beers on tap. I got a burger, which was excellent, but they have traditional Belgian fare as well. If you are a fan of imported beers, this place is worth checking out.

Having grown up in Belgium I was pleased to discover Eulogy a couple of years ago. It was then and remains a great place for delicious beers. The atmosphere is lively and people all seem to be having a good time. While the beer is great, the food is somewhat lacking - the burgers are great but as for the mussels -- not so much. The first time I was there I had the mussels with wine which were cooked well but nothing extraordinary. This time I tired the mussels with beer - the broth was very bland, could not discern any beer flavor at all (or garlic or other herbs for tat matter) and they were a bit overcooked. So for mussels I would recommend going across town to Monk's but if you're in the neighborhood and just want a good burger and a fine beer, Eulogy is a good choice.
