Service slow tonight.
They say if the walls could talk, but it certainly doesn't look like they have to. Wolfgang Puck has eclipsed his legendary Spago here and probably doesn't even think about it. Great expansive layout replete with fireplaces and cozy seating. Food is outstanding. Kitchen staff and chefs are top notch. Service is respectful and attentive. Cocktails are unusual mix of creative contemporary and traditional. Gluten free desserts as well. They maintain elegance and historical Hollywood in an unaffected, non-pretentious way, which is highly unusual in LA. A real hit with anyone for any occasion, especially holiday. And if you run into someone you know, rest assured it will probably be someone you really wanted to see. Highly recommended.
Julian was an amazing server and showed us around even! We will be back! Thanks for making our anniversary great!
Top notch and perfect for any special occasion. The atmosphere is stunning and romantic. Good for business meals as well, if you want to impress.
Amazing Wiener schnitzel! The best for a long time! Also, coming from france, was really happy to have really good bread and butter served!
We had breakfast there also the day after, everything was just perfect, from the food to be service which was impeccable. I wish I could remember all names but the waiters were all so friendly and dedicated to perfect service. Thank you again and hope to see you very soon!
I only discovered this restuarant becuase a friend brought me here for a birthday luch -- which was excellent. I really wanted to treat my boyfriend but in the meantime we got married! So I booked it for our first anniversary dinner. We started off with cocktails in the bar -- which he loved -- then had a leisurely dinner. Both the lunch & dinner included a couple of amuse bouche, which were fun. The staff on both occasions were the best (attentive yet never in your face). The drinks were fab (glad we used Lyft!) & the location is stunning. He LOVED it. Also both for my birthday lunch & our Anniversary dinner the chef sent out a lovely celebratory plate. Definitely recommend for a special occasion.
It was very loud - the music was far too noisy than tolerable, we barely could hear each other.
The food quality was very poor, the omelette was a crepe with too much butter in it, bad onions and poor mushrooms. The dessert wasn’t good at all, full of artificial coloring and too much sugar.
A very poor experience. We won’t return for sure.
good food, ok service... really just go for the ambiance. if the same restaurant was located somewhere else i probably wouldnt go
The food was not that great and the service was slow... Very Disappointed
The Bel Air Hotel is magnificent, which is why I thought this would be the ideal Wolfgang Puck location to celebrate a special birthday. The food was mostly delicious, though the salad we ordered was not very good. The disappointing part of the meal was the noise level. We had two large parties seated next to us celebrating birthdays. They were VERY loud and made it difficult for my wife and I to converse. I noticed the couple at the table next to us seemed equally disappointed. I would suggest large, loud groups be relegated to another part of the restaurant. The best part of our evening was our waiter, Mark Anthony, who was outstanding. Should you choose this restaurant, please be aware that it is not as quiet or romantic as you might be expecting.
An absolutely beautiful and serene setting. Food and service was exceptional. They didn’t have risotto on the menu which I was craving. I was told the chef would prepare any risotto I wanted! We all shared the mushroom risotto and it was superb.
My latest visit here simply comfirmed the excellent dining experience I have here. We enjoyed another special occassion at Wolfgang Puck Bel Air. Always a pleasure.
I have been to the Bel Air many times and normally am pleased with the service and food. This time was different. The service was poor and the food was disappointing. We expected better.
Really enjoyed the ambiance. Didn’t feel like we were in the middle of LA. Food tasted good and service was friendly albeit a bit slow. But we had a leisurely breakfast so we didn’t mind. Plan to return very soon.
Loved our ladies lunch at a center alcove table. Great service from hostess to waiter to manager. Delicious food. Discovered a new favorite champagne from their list. Popular reality TV star spotted at alcove next to us. The swans were lovely, too.
One of the most special places in Los Angeles. If you’re looking for a romantic evening it can’t be beat. Atmosphere, service and food are perfect. Go early, grab a drink at the bar and take it with you as you walk around the grounds before dinner. Don’t miss the swans!
For some reason the food delivery was extremely slow. Have never experienced this before - waited an 1/2 between courses - several patrons complained.
I invited a guest for a business lunch. The servers just weren't paying attention or very attentive. They brought the incorrect order twice. Not up to usual standards.
By far one of the best dining experiences in Los Angeles. We produce video and marketing materials for restaurants around the world, so trust me when I say that the food was spot-on, the service was attentive and unobtrusive, and the overall experience was very memorable.
very disappointing. I had been waiting for a special reason to go to the BelAir for the last year. A foodie friend wanted to try a few specific places, but I recommended the BelAir. Big Mistake! No intimacy at all. It was quiet, but that was because no one was there. Brightly lit with high ceilings, it is also the type of restaurant that has an over abundance of waiters standing around patiently to help someone, but disappear the moment they are needed. I was expecting high prices having been a regular at Spago for over 20 years, but this bill surprised me. The quality of the food and service compared to the prices is extremely objectionable. I found better lamb chops at Denny's and Olive Garden. And $52.00 for a plate of corn pasta was absurd. Not sure what happened here Wolfgang, but this place needs a redo all the way around.
Hotel is beautiful
Food was soso
Wonderful food in a beautiful spot! Highly recommend!
Perfect for foodies. Never disappointed. Recommend the tomato salad and halibut.
The service made the special night even more so. It was such a relief to eat in a pkace where we could hear each other speak. The gsrdens are inspiring-you really feel you’ve stepped out of LA fir a bit...and can revel in the serenity. The lamb was outstanding. The Loup de Mer good but not great. Every bit as nice as the last time I was there.
The bar and Wolfgang Puck Restaurant at the Hôtel Bel Air create the perfect ambiance whether celebrating a special day or meeting someone for a first date. The good, service and environment come together and leave everyone in a great mood. Each dish is carefully crafted if very high priced (6 oysters are $28; a glass of Sancerre is over $20). I save the Bel Air for spécial evenings
Great food, outstanding service, will definitely be back.
The amuse bouche of gazpacho was really nice, one of the best i’ve ever had. The bread basket was delightful - warm, soft butter and salt and was a welcome beginning to the meal. The rose mocktail was divine! – the smell of fragrance with every sip, the aroma and taste all were sublime and wonderful.
The air pocket salmon/caviar bite was interesting. the oxtail bouillon soup was excellent, as was the ravioli and the arctic char. We both had the short rib goulash, as the weinerschnitzel is on the regular menu. It was superbly rich and flavorful. This would be great to add to the regular menu. The kaiserschmarnn dessert was a nice ending, as it wasn’t too big or too sweet.
It was a nice touch that both managers came by to ask how our meal was and how we were doing.
One comment I have to make is that the wine flight, while good, featured a white wine for the entree, where a red would probably have been better - in fact we ordered an extra glass for just that reason. Maybe the white was intended for the weinerschnitzel?
Absolutely lives up to the hype (and price), amazing staff as well.
My partner and i tried the Dine LA special dinner menu. While the amount of food was generous, the first courses were not as good as expected. Main dishes were much better, though less in quantity than the first course selections. Waitstaff were exceptionally attentive. Our mistake was adding the beer-wine pairing, with one beer and two small glasses of white wine. With so many dishes, we were expecting a true pairing with each different dish. All in all, an interesting evening, but not as outstanding as we'd hoped especially for the price. To end the evening, the valet service fee was another expensive addition!
We've been going to the Bel-Air Hotel for years in fact we got married there 24 years ago. So we're not "newbies" and they've made changes over the years and some of the changes they made years ago I didn't like but I really like it now. It's more like it was when we first started going there. So we're back in love with the Hotel Bel-Air!
Top notch service, wonderful ambiance and excellent food. The brunch 3 course menu has several options to satisfy palate. The first course fruit, crisp vegetables and crab cakes are nice and light. The second, and main course, ranges from breakfast to dinner dishes (steak, fish, etc.). Great for groups or couples.
Came for the DineLA but not everyone wanted to try it, so had to order from regular menu.
Food was great service was good and it was a lovely evening eating outdoors.
I have always loved going to Hotel Bel Air. Took a Client to celebrate the sale of his house, for drinks in the hotel bar and then for dinner.
Drinks in the bar were lovely, lively and enjoyable.
Since the Patio outside was so quiet, we decided to dine in the bar area.
The Halibut was so overcooked, we had to send it back and were told that to fire a new one would take 45 minutes! (No wonder that it was overcooked). So, ordered a Club Sandwich.
After 45 minutes, when the entire party had finished, I cancelled my Club Sandwich, and it amazingly appeared. Had it wrapped to go. Dissapointing.
Stellar food, service and ambiance. We had the inside dining room to ourselves with extremely attentive wait staff attending to our every need. We can't wait to go back.
Our server, Julian, made the evening special. His service was exceptional and enhanced the entire experience. Thanks Julian!
The ambiance is too casual which loses the sophistication expected for a Wolfgang Puck restaurant. The Thai salad was exceptionally flavorful and service was great.
Awesome restaurant. Two thumbs up.
