Wonderful food with one exception-overly salty side of mushrooms which was still salty even though kitchen purportedly freshly prepared another batch Aside from this one glitch, everything was wonderful soup to nuts

Very underwhelming and disappointing for as much as the reviews stated the opposite. Really expected to be wowed, but did not leave wanting to come back. Daughter’s steak was so inconsistently cooked. Burned and overdone to medium rare. Lobster appetizer had a poor cohesion of flavors, and just not what I was hoping for. All the sauces had odd perfumey flavors. One drink that was ordered was not as described at all. Caesar salad just meh….for a $400 meal for 3 people (which did not even include alcohol) I wanted to crave more and desire to come back. So many better restaurants. Unfortunately, this in was a dud for us and unfortunate, since I chose it for my birthday. Coconut cake was good, but not the BEST I’ve had.

The Rack of Lamb was beaurtilly presented and was delicious. The flounder with crab meat was also delicious. Very pleasant evening. We come to Charleston in March every year and always dine at Peninsula Grill. Never disappointed.

Food was not hot. Actually, it was barely warm. Rack of lamb (3 chops) $65. Best part of the plate was the purée. Service was excellent. We chose to eat outside, which was probably a mistake due to the chill but had we eaten inside, the noise would have been near deafening. Overall-Overrated

I was celebrating the end of an enjoyable solo cruise from Jacksonville to Charleston and asked multiple people to recommend the best restaurant! They all said the Zoe insula and I was not disappointed! The crab soup was marvelous, and I loved the flavors of the beef tartar. My filet mignon was cooked to perfection. My waiter, James, knows his stuff and has the right personality to convey respect for the diner and for the good food they will get. It was my first visit to Charleston, but the Peninsula Grill will call me back!

Great revisiting an old favorite, always seems like quintessential Charleston. You can't beat the traditional décor, amazing food and overall ambiance. Really enjoyed our Birthday celebration - topped off with the amazing coconut cake!

For an upscale restaurant, the server/service was poor. Server was in your face and had way to much profile during dinner. Seafood had confusing combinations of ingredients. For these prices go elsewhere ($150/PP).

Jimmy was a wonderful waiter. He is a seasoned pro. Dean made sure we were seated promptly and his courtesy can not be matched. It is the people working there that make the difference. They obviously want you to be satisfied and pull out all the stops to make it happen. Food was remarkable!

This restaurant is highly rated and it is nice but doesnt live up to the reviews that Ive seen. Food was good but nothing exceptional. A lot of money for an entree and nothing else on the plate. If you want anything on the side, its another $12. Just a few string beans on the plate would make a difference, Otherwise, service was great - and the dining room is very pretty.

The food was pretty good- a bit overpriced for what it was. I do wish they would tell you ahead of time that refills on Sweet tea & sodas are not free!!! We spent a lot of extra money because no one told us! Over all not bad but could have been better.

Great, professional staff. Food introductions were a bit long winded and borderline pushy; slightly awkward. Delicious steaks. Yukon gold whipped potatoes were amazing! Steak sauce and bread rolls were otherwise uninteresting. Ambient noise level made conversation and menu selection challenging; noise negated any sense of date-night intimacy. Happy Birthday desert plate was very nice touch - and a delectable treat. Will definitely return!

My first visit to the Peninsula Grill and it was outstanding. Britain our server was amazing. He knew just when to attend us and knew when to let us enjoy our meal, the surroundings and companionship. Food was perfectly cooked. My old fashion was one of the best I have had. Wine was excellent. According to wife, her after dinner Expresso martini was the best she ever had. A must dining experience if you visit Charleston. In my top 5 resturants in the US.

Classic setting with all the elements you would expect from a signature restaurant in Charleston. The champagne bar is great on its own even if you aren't dining at the peninsula grill. The service was outstanding, and our server Jessica was very attentive. The dining room is classy with the tables spread apart so that you have some privacy and can carry on a normal conversation. Great experience overall.

Both entrees were amazing. Duck breast was perfectly cooked. The chicken was deboned and grilled with amazing sides. The coconut cake is best ever. She crab soup was ok. Service was amazing. Will definitely return.

Overall good experience. Service was uneven but ok. Appetizer of lobster 3 ways was disappointing- very little lobster (the tempura portion had a piece the size of a dime). Grouper entree was tasty as was the scallop entree.
