   Food lacked flavor but wasn’t offensive. Avoid the meat and cheese plate- the items on there seem like pre cut cheese from the grocery store with cold cut meats (not high end). Portions were very small for the price. Piano player was very good. Servers were friendly. Highly suggest for drinks at the bar but wasn’t impressed with the food. Bummer.

   Did not live up to the expectations or standards. Have previously dined here and had an excellent experience but not the case this time. I understand it was Valentine's weekend but the restaurant was not full and the fact that you had to put a $50 deposit with your reservation would have on thinking the restaurant knew the number of covers for the night. The service was very poor. Very disorganized and no clear direction. The food was okay mostly because by the time it arrived it was warm at best. Don't think I will return as there are many great restaurants in the area. This is disappointing as I have recommended several people to this restaurant.

   This is a beautiful spot. Unfortunately, the service was extremely poor. Long wait to be acknowledged, longer time to get the meal. Main course delivered shortly after appetizer, which we hadn't had time to finish. Never checked back to see how things were. Basically ignored, except the friendly person pouring water. The food was just ok. Nothing that would bring us back.

   We have been frequenting this restaurant for many many years and have always enjoyed everything about it. We have known a few of the managers and the great bartenders throughout the years. Tonight we took four of our neighbors to dinner for a celebration. It was Valentines weekend and so I I called to make a reservation to sit at the bar. Unbeknownst to us when we sat down I asked for the bar menu and they told me because it was Valentines weekend they were not offering bar menu due to the holiday weekend. Don’t you think when I asked to be sat at the bar that the person who confirmed the reservation would have informed us that due to the holiday weekend the bar menu would not be offered. Well unbeknownst to us

    The staffing for a Friday night was too sparse. The staff was friendly and helpful when they were in the area, but it seems they were very overwhelmed. As a result, our meals arrived barely warm. Flavor and presentation was nice. It just missed on temperature. We probably won’t return.

    There was no part of the experience I did not love. The parking is tight this time of year but that happens everywhere. The setting, the décor, the staff, the food, the drinks, the entire experience and was outstanding.

    My husband and I were in Kennebunkport for a long weekend and came here for a nice Valentine’s Day dinner. It was pretty disappointing for the high price we paid. The waitress seemed overwhelmed. The food was just okay. Salads were bland, and our dinners were lukewarm. Not a ton of flavor. I can’t believe how much money we paid for such a mediocre meal. We will never return. Wish we just spent the evening at one of the casual dining spots in the area instead.

    We love going to dinner here, but our lunch sandwiches were awkward to eat. My husband had to deconstruct his turkey club. It was good, but no way could he get his mouth open enough to eat it as a sandwich. My haddock sandwich was on a small brioche roll that was also cumbersome to eat. I had to pull out the lettuce and tomato and ended up eating the haddock without the roll.

    What a great surprise! We loved the building and ambiance from the moment we walked in. The menu offered some great selections, our server was outstanding and the food was delicious! We will be back for sure.

    Out of all meals. Duck was dry. Husbands beer had a floater in it. Everyone unhappy in restaurant. Pretty place though. Maybe just an off night. Heard they also served a woman with a spinach allergy her meal with spinach on it and woman next to us had a fit because they even ran out of mashed potatoes

    The food was subpar. We ordered 6 different meals and none were good. The food was bland, not cooked properly and overall big disappointment. I can’t understand why so many positive reviews.

    We waited more than 30 minutes after being seated to even get a glass of water. My husband had to go out to the hostess desk to request service. The food was barely mediocre . We ordered oysters Rockefeller to share for an appetizer and were shocked when they were brought to our table. They were barely an inch in diameter! The main courses were no better. I had a wedge salad which came with 1 cherry tomato, a few bacon bits and 3 croutons. My roasted tomato soup was very, very sweet and so thick I could stand my spoon up in it. My husband’s Haddock Meniere a very thin tale piece over soupy mashed potatoes. Overall, a very disappointing evening.

    All the warmth and charm of maine, A diverse menu a bit on the high end pricing wise but great quality. As a detailed oriented individual beginning and middle of the dinner went great but the finish was off because my espresso was crappy. Love your place will keep coming back but please invest in a good espresso machine for those of use who enjoy a great finish to out meal. :)

    A group of 6 of us had dinner here during Prelude weekend. WE LOVED IT!! The service was wonderful and fun, the food (all different dishes) were all terrific. We had a beautiful table, lovely wine and a great Christmas experience. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and had a piano player during dinner. This was our second time there and I highly recommend it for a beautiful but comfortable dining experience.

    On the Marsh has never disappointed us. The menu has sufficient breadth, the food is always excellent and the service is exceptional and friendly. The physical setting of the restaurant is spectacular. An evening there is always wonderful.

    The decor was lovely . We especially enjoyed the singers. Overall the food was good, some dinners were excellent other choices were ok. The sour note involved the bill. My credit card was charged $250 when booked . When the bill came that night the $250 was not subtracted . When I called it to the servers attention she said my name wasn’t on the list. It took a while to get it sorted out. Thankfully I caught it before we double paid This was awkward for me and my guests and unacceptable .

    First of all On The Marsh was an amazing restaurant for a birthday celebration. The restaurant decor is absolutely lovely as was meeting the owner, and unexpected generosity and hospitality. We will definitely be back.

    We always dine at On the Marsh when we visit Kennebunkport. Always a fine experience. This time, oyster and shrimp first courses were excellent, as were the rack of lamb entrees each perfectly prepared to our desired wellness. The ice cream sundae and cheesecake desserts were very fine.
