Everything was good..Food was amazing.
We had to wait on drinks because the Resturant did not have enough glasses for the patrons. We were eating and we’re asked to give up our glasses because they needed them. I carried my sister for Sunday brunch. It was her first time in the resturant. Not s good first impression and embarrassing for me I’ll think seriously about returning and we have been before. Disappointed
We were seated late even with our reservations made in advance. Food was excellent and table service was good, but Bar service was very SLOOOOW and has been that way for all our visits. The Restaurant space also needs better sound baffling as this place is always very loud.
Very good brunch menu, lots of appealing choices.
Great choice for a big family birthday with kids.
Very noisy. No ambience. Not a date place or a place for good conversation. Service is cheerful but overwhelmed by the volume.
We had a great time and are so happy that they are accommodating to people with food allergies! Thank you!!
I love supporting local businesses. Chicken and The Egg is a restaurant that I really want to enjoy. The service, ambiance and noise level is superb. The food needs some major improvement.
My husband and I got the soup (which was excellent) and the wedge salad. The salad had a huge hard piece in the middle that looked as if it was going bad. The salad didn’t have enough of the toppings to be a wedge. I felt like I was eating a head of lettuce plain.
I got the shrimp and grits and didn’t care for the dark gravy that was on it. My husband got the salmon and quinoa. The salmon was very small and not enough quinoa. Luckily I didn’t care for the shrimp and grits so my husband could have the rest and feel full.
This restaurant has a great deal of potential. The service is great.
Used to be a regular, now I don't think I'm ever going back. This establishment doesn't understand the concept of the word "reservation", for clarity here's the primary definition:
the action of reserving something.
"the reservation of seats for non-alumni is limited"
The very definition of the word requires that something be set aside, "reserved". After showing up promptly for what I assumed was my reserved table I was notified by the seating hostess that I was "checked in" for my reservation. After 20 minutes of waiting I overheard the hostess talking with management about issues with seating arrangements, all this while seating walk in customers. After overhearing the conversation I alerted the hostess that waiting this long without any info was unacceptable. The staff made no attempt to explain the wait and were unapologetic. I got the impression they couldn't have cared any less about the situation. The service has always been on edge, but I used to frequent this establishment regularly due to how delicious the food was. Unfortunately the food isn't tasty enough to cover the complete lack of tact and service.
I took my friend here for a birthday brunch. The food was delicious and the we highly recommend the donut appetizer! Their hash brown casserole is so good!
Chicken & the Egg is a great spot for brunch on the weekends. Definitely make a reservation on Open Table and skip the wait. Food is always great modern Southern fare and their service was outstanding (ask for Heather)
It was my first time dinning at Chicken & Egg. I really enjoyed the food and the service from the waitress. However, the check in procedures were not good. I made reservations and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated.
Great brunch experience. Flexible reservation process and quick seating. Food and Beverage (despite waiting for 12:30) was amazing! My only complaint was that it was noisy and difficult to talk to others during busy service times.
Service was horrible. I ordered a cocktail and they brought me the wrong one. Then 10 minutes later came back and told me they couldn’t make the one I ordered. They ended up comping the drink. The waiter seemed inexperienced and frazzled . Food was just ok. Something I could easily make at home. Probably won’t go back.
Was excited to dine here but left thinking it was not as good as I had hoped.
I though the food was excellent. We go out every Friday night and this was an excellent choice. We will return!!!!
We've eaten at the Chicken & Egg several times before and its always been good. However this trip had us wishing we had passed. My wife ordered Shrimp and Grits. The dish was way too salty so she could not eat it. I ordered the meatloaf. It was OK but nothing special. The mashed potatoes were obviously reheated. Had this been my first trip there I would not think about returning. Based on past experience we MAY give them another try in the future.
It was very good. The wait wasn’t long(we had a reservation)
Loved the Sunday brunch menu! Really impressed my friends who were from out of town.
I reserved a table for 3 at 12:15 for Sunday brunch and the two hostesses seemed inattentive to my concerns when at 12:35 we were still not seated. But eventually we were seated and were greeted with the most awesome waiter! He was friendly, helpful in making appetizer decisions, and he always came back at the perfect moment when the group was ready for another round of mimosas! The restaurant has an open floor layout with a delightful, farmstead theme. Most importantly, the food. was. DELICIOUS! It was brought out super quick, too! FGT Benedict all the way!!!
Breakfast is great, everytime. When family is in town, they always want to have breakfast or brunch here. ✅🍳
I usually love this place, I’ve went many times for lunch and it’s always been great. However, we made reservations for dinner and it was the complete opposite experience. Food was TERRIBLE. We started w spring rolls that were awful. We both ate half of one and called it quits. I ordered a medium rare steak which I assumed would be best bet since it’s pretty hard to mess up a steak. It was so thin it looked like a Dollar Tree steak and was cooked medium well at best. The side salad was just a hand full of lettuce and THATS IT. My girlfriend couldn’t even eat her food (I forgot what she ordered but, said it was really bad). And all of this cake with the price tag of $100. Needless to say I won’t be going back.
The speed with which food arrives is ALWAYS a welcome feature of returning to C & E. The catfish was perfectly cooked and the greens are always good. Squash casserole wasn't as flavorful today, but is generally the side they run out of because it's a favorite. Always enjoy the ambiance as the restaurant is a really clean aesthetic & comfortable place.
Please add pimento cheese fritters tobthe brunch menu.
We LOVE the Chicken & Egg. My food was just a little off Friday night (a little dry) but it is one of our favorites and we will be back sooner rather than later. Our son devoured his Chicken &Waffles that we took home for him, no complaints there!
Usually, we have a wonderful experience; however, it had been quite some time since our last visit. We were a little disappointed this time. Our server seemed rushed and we were early birds so the restaurant was not crowded. The food was acceptable, but, not great. Almost as if it had been reheated too many times. The fried okra on the other hand was fabulous. Given this was a “one off” we will come back. Love the concept and have enjoyed the food on all other occasions.
Great food at a great price. Can not beat the two for 25 Thursday specials
Disappointing night out. Our server seemed friendly and was even accommodating when I sent back a drink (I didn't ask for it to be removed from the bill, though they did so, and I ordered something different). However, on our way out, we overheard her telling a coworker everything we'd ordered (including what she saw as an off-putting drink and dessert combo) and complaining about us. The food was good (nothing was outstanding), but we definitely won't be back thanks to the weird ending.
Absolutely love Chicken and the Egg. Their brunch is a fantastic value and great way to start a Sunday morning.
Love this place! The food and the service is always excellent!
The food was not good. My guest had to send her dinner back as it was inedible. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for dinner.
Love this place
Great food and service. Very quiet on a Friday night
food wasn't seasoned well. but the mimosas were amazing !
We took our daughter for a birthday celebration brunch. Our server, Heather, was very knowledgeable of the menu and attentive to our questions. She provided excellent service and remembered to bring a little birthday treat at the end of the meal! We will definitely be regular diners at this restaurant!!
Both of us enjoyed our brunch dishes. I loved the Fried Green Tomato Benedict.
Outstanding fried chicken. Don’t miss the pimento cheese fritters. Ask for Cal as your waiter.
This was the first visit and the food was outstanding, the omelet was the best and my friend got Eggs Benedict was was also great. I loved the bacon but not the sausage. The service was excellent all the staff was extemely friendly
Short ribs good but egg roll not to my liking. They did take it off our bill which was nice. Would have liked ice in our water. Rolls were yummy! Iceberg wedge salad ho hum. Server was nice. Restaurant was very clean. The girl that showed us to our table had on a not so clean shirt! I noticed it right off the bat. You might consider black attire!!
The food was wonderful (we ate Sunday brunch). We had great service and there were options for everyone. The only reason I gave it four stars was because the chairs we sat in were extremely uncomfortable. We had five adults of all different shapes and sizes and we were all complaining about how the chairs felt. Other than the physical discomfort, it was an excellent experience. We will definitely be back—but request a different table. :)
Even though I rated the experience high, we still had to wait up to a half an hour to be seated and we had reservations. Don’t understand why?
I thought it was fine. The fried chicken was good. I had a very simple dish. Fried chicken with eggs and hashbrowns. Oh plus biscuits. Everything was fine except the hsshbrowns. No salt was present in the hashbrowns in the one bite I had. The biscuits tasted a bit processed or too much grease? I am spoiled by homemade biscuits I eat on a regular basis made by family so my standards are higher. The service definitely could use improvement. One person at the table complained that the waffles were lukewarm at first bite. All my food was hot so not sure what happened. I would go back and get the fried chicken and eggs and try and hold the biscuits and hashbrowns.
