The best eggplant parmesan I have ever eaten. I can’t wait to go back!
We love Ralph's food is great! My husband loves the mussels!
It was my wife's birthday and we had a party of 7. We asked for bruschetta for an appetizer and the waiter brought 4 pieces of bruschetta for the table. We were not asked if we wanted soup or salad with our meal. We had to flag the waiter down to get drink refills. The food was mediocre, and lacked taste. This was our second time eating at Ralph's, and unfortunately our last. The first time everything was excellent, this time, not so much.
Food was very good! We ordered bruschetta as an appetizer, then i had the Chicken Florentine which was delicious!
Ralph's is an institution! We took friends from California and everyone was delighted with their meals. If you haven't been there before, it is a tiny place. Be prepared to get friendly with the table next to you.
Ralph's was a recommendation from friends who had also visited Philadelphia. It is a small place, in a local Italian neighborhood near South Philly. The ambience is simple and authentic of 100+ year old Italian restaurant. We enjoyed escargot, ceasar salad followed by the braciola and pappardelle with pancetta and peas in alfredo. The food was wonderful!
Great restaurant. Lots of history! Professes to be the oldest Italian restaurant in the US. A little noisy.. but overall a great restaurant!
My family has been dining at Ralph’s in Philadelphia for over fifty years! The owners/management have kept the standards and food quality in this establishment above par! The food is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced! They do also have a bar for wines, beers and cocktails! The Italian dishes served bring me back to Grandmoms table! A definite great choice when looking for a place to dine in South Philadelphia!
I`ve been here many times and never disappointed.
Mussels, either White or Red or both to start.
Glass of Chianti..
Veal Rollatine and pasta.
Everything is great, but above are my go to most of the time.
We all enjoyed our meals. The ravioli was not as heated as I would have expected. Flavor was non-descript. I expected something more than just the bite of the pasta and flavor of the meat sauce. Sampled chicken and shrimp from other plates - very good. Bread was excellent as was side salad with house dressing.
The food was phenomenal - most notably the sauces were done so well. We dined upstairs and it was a cozy atmosphere, quiet, intimate, dimmed, and perfect for a nice date. The first floor was much more energetic and loud. The wait staff were very attentive and gave excellent service. We will most definitely return!
This is a great historical restaurant and for the most part lives up to its hype. Very cute neighbor restaurant in the Italian District of Philly. Service was not bad, just not that friendly. Glad we went.
Always Great! A place I have frequented since the fifties. Biggest problem is deciding between many favorites
Ralph's will thrive for another century because you get exactly what you pay for - a good meal, lots of food, quite reasonably priced, nice wine list (actually, surprisingly varied), very good service and consistency. Families with small children are welcome; this is not a place for a fancy business meal and does not try to be. You won't leave hungry or disappointed; plan to take some food home and leave some room for the homemade desserts.
Restaurant was very nice and friendly, food was very good. Authentic and places like this should be cherished.
Its a historic restaurant in a historic town. Congratulations for this family for keeping it going.
Everything was great. Food, service and atmosphere.
I had the mussels red with linguini. This is my go to at Ralph's. The best ever!!!! My wife had the gnocchi. They were tender and light. Meatballs were also very tender and flavorful. The bread they serve is excellent.
We had a layover in Philly on our way back from Portugal. I just had to go to Ralph's for dinner!!!
Best veal parmesan I ever had. Awesome food. Service was great. Price average especially for quality of meal.
On my visit to Philadelphia, I was told this was the restaurant to try if I was looking for great Italian food. I wasn't disappointed. Also, the Tiramisu that I had was the best I've ever eaten. Would definitely go there again when I'm in Philadelphia.
We LOVE this restraurant! The food is amazing! My husband has had escargot in several countries and this ties number #1. I try different entrées every time and they all have been SO great!! We come every few months to Philly from Charleston SC and have gone to Ralph’s every trip and plan to continue the tradition. The hostess Lauren is by far my fav hostess ever and I used to work in the biz! She knew who we were when I called to place the reservation and she has her own spunk that we love. Thank you Ralph’s for giving us something to look forward to every time we come to Philly for not so fun medical appointments! Y’all are the BEST
The good was good but the noise level was so uncomfortable. Could not talk to each other at all
My husband and I were at Ralph’s for our anniversary. We arrived a bit early for our reservation. No problem they sat us immediately. The service was excellent the food so delicious. I love real Italian food and Ralph’s never disappoints. Great evening!
I was there on a Saturday at dinner with relatives I hadn't seen in years. After we finished eating we were able to sit and talk without any of the staff saying anything that made us feel rushed. Food was just as good as what I expected. Will certainly go back.
Always a good meal @‘Ralphs. Expect good food and authentic Italian from Ralph’s. Since it’s always crowded, the service can be rushed and hit or miss, but you leave full and happy every time.
Food is always absolutely delicious, love this place
Service was especially poor. The gravy lacked taste.
A really delicious dinner after the Eagles’ win. We also had dessert this time which were excellent.
Our family celebrated a birthday at Ralph’s and frankly the night was perfect. Outstanding food and service capped off a great night
First time and Ralph's. Didn't know what to expect. We were seating by the bar on the second floor, so it was a bit loud. Other than that, most food was amazing. I would not recommend the alfredo. RED SAUCE, MEATBALLS, CHICKEN PARM AND CHILEAN SEA BASS WERE TO DIE FOR!!!!!!
Best restaurant ever. The veal parm is amazing. First date with her couldn’t of been any better than dinner at Ralph’s.
Best Italian food out there! Truly is the best chicken parm I’ve ever had in my life.
This is old-school Italian food with turn of the century ingredients! Quaint place that captures the history of this family owned restaurant. Great food and a must see
Love Ralph’s. Great place if you are looking for authentic Italian food. It’s my new favorite place to go. We have been to South Philadelphia & King of Prussia. Both are great.
The food was fantastic. Felt like I was eating in someone's home -- FRESH and AUTHENTIC! Worth a return trip.
I am sorry to say that I was not impressed. We were seated in a stuffy attic room, up many flights of steps. Not good for someone who would have breathing problems. My dinner was not hot. 2 out of 4 meals were very good. My husband had the mussels and shrimp over linguine. Raved about it. The server, Mark, was great. I don't know that I would go back. If you are on the 1st or 2nd floor it's very noisy and crowded. It is a landmark restaurant but I think it's overrated.
Great service and loved the ambiance! Food was amazing as always.
Third time at Ralph's and the food was great. Veal Parm is outstanding!
Food and service were excellent! Oldest Italian restaurant in America. Recommend chicken parmigiana and linguine pescatore.
First time at Ralph's. The food is great. It has a real old school atmosphere. There servers are good. You have to try the Veal Parm.
Ralph’s is a true treasure in south philly. Excellent Italian food very friendly wait staff. If you have the chance to talk to Lauren ( sometimes waiting tables or hostess) she is a delight. This is our new best stop we drive from Langhorne just for dinner here
