From the moment our server, Trey (sp?), greeted us, we knew it was going to be a great night! Trey was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and you could tell he really loved what he did. Trey offered to have Bill's Manhattan prepared with Rye rather than Bourbon, which is the way Bill prefers it. I had a glass of Red Zinfandel. We both had the Caesar Salad prepared tableside and it was excellent. I had the special 8 oz. filet with mushrooms in a blue cheese, port wine sauce which was cooked perfectly medium rare and was one of the best tasting filets I've ever had - even reheated 2 days later. My hubby was really into the tableside presentations, so he ordered the Steak Diane. Trey did a wonderful job with the prep, assuring Bill that his steak would be medium rare, which it was. The mustard based sauce (which hubby was worried about) was excellent as was the steak! The only disappointment of the evening were the sides: Bill had the creamed spinach and I had the mushrooms. For dessert, we shared the Cherries Jubilee (yes, prepared tableside - Bill was really enjoying that!) and it was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal along with a cup of coffee and coffee with frangelica. All in all, it was a wonderful birthday dinner for my husband!
Fabulous! As good as any NYC best! Food and Menu were great. The server was knowledgeable. All in all a real gem!
Outstanding service all way round. The barman and our server was very knowledgeable and very friendly! I highly recommend y'all try it out!
First time at your NEW location, we will be back!
Please do not tell me how long of a review I must write, or I will not do one again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!’
In short this was an awesome evening. Our server Danny was the best. He was very personable and attentive to our experience. All his selections were great. We started with the seafood trio which was crab, lobster and shrimp. Oh so good. My wife had the salmon and I had the filet special. Both dishes arrived with a great presentation. The flavor was fantastic. It was not an inexpensive meal but it was well worth the dining experience. We will be back as for a second time this did not disappoint.
The service is outstanding. Pay close attention to detail. The food is exceptional.
The Library has moved to a much better location. The new building is much nicer and in a better neighborhood but still has the rustic character of the original.
The menu is still the same offering old favorites such as Steak Diane prepared tableside and homemade Caesar salad also prepared table side from scratch. I enjoyed the salmon over creamed spinach and my date had the surf and turf with baby shrimp and scallops in the shell with the lobster tail.
We ended dinner with Cherries Jubilee also prepared tableside and served over house made ice cream. Excellent experience as it always is. Thank you to Shad for continuing to maintain such high standards in the new location.
We enjoyed our dining experience, but we felt the menu was overpriced. For example, our screw- top bottle of Moscato was $44 and water was $5 per person.
We had a wonderful meal to end our vacation at MB. Trey was a fantastic server and made awesome recommendations. Easily the best meal we had in years!
Wow what a wonderful meal. The service was excellent w a lot of special treatment. This restaurant will definitely be on my to do list on my next visit to Myrtle Beach. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Fabulous dining experience! Steak was so tender a butter knife cut through it. Josh was a great server! Do not miss this!
Everybody was nice and we had a wonderful waiter, his name was Trey. He provided wonderful service, and the filet he cooked was delicious. We will definitely come back when we go back to Myrtle Beach.
Everything was great.
Delightful from start to finish. Lovely ambiance, friendly and efficient staff, AMAZING food.
We had a little bit of a rough start as 2 men in our party were wearing flip flops (nice leather ones..not beach wear) We were told we would need to sit at the bar due to that. We checked out the bar which only has a bar and no tables so we declined and left.
We were outside discussing where to go when the manager came out. He was incredibly nice and said generally they request no flip flops for men but he didn't want us to leave. "Just remember for next time". He went above and beyond to smooth over the situation
The remainder of the night..... PERFECT! As a foodie, who lives in a town with fantastic restaurants, we struggle when we are in Myrtle to find a truly great place to eat. We have found it! Our party of 4 had Fish, Filet and Lobster, Filet, and Chicken Chardonnay. While rich...they were all perfectly cooked and had great flavor. Even the sides were were very tasty.
Be sure to save room for table-side Cherries Jubilee and Bananas foster. Our table had both and it was difficult to decide which one was best. We loved them both.
Lastly, our server (Noah) was excellent. There when we needed him, not there when we didn't need him. Very professional yet friendly.
What began a little rocky, absolutely turned out to be a wonderful experience!
Fantastic Fine Dinning experience.
We were served an assortment of poorly seasoned and poorly executed dishes. Mushrooms were steamed rather than sautéed. The French onion soup was improperly seasoned with herbs causing the onions to take a back seat . The bearnaise sauce was not done correctly. The steaks weren’t seasoned well. They served a single poorly seasoned new potato with braised carrots that were sickeningly sweet. It was the most stunningly poor execution of a meal I’ve ever seen at this expensive price point. Our 12 ounce tenderloins were $65. The appetizer mushrooms tasted like they were boiled in red wine and then had some melted Gruyere cheese tossed over top. They were soggy and unbalanced. The steak was adorned with the exact mushrooms from the appetizer with some blue cheese on top. The combination was unpalatable. It was a shame to spend $300 and literally not have one thing that we’d have served any of our guests at home!!! Terrible! Don’t waste your money
Had a great time, Josh did an excellent job in serving us and preparing our meal. I will be coming back in the near future.
Josh was awesome, food was excellent.
Outstanding Food and Service!!
Went there one night while on vacation based on ratings thought it would be better than it was. Claimed cook to order for gluten free and had nothing but the most expensive steak. Duck was gamy Eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world (NY, Paris,San Fran etc). This place was very pretentious
This is the best restaurant I've ever been to. The food is outstanding. The staff are incredible -- I've been a handful of times and always had a different server. They're genuinely engaging, but somehow also unobtrusive. Expect to spend a lot. Expect to be there for a couple of hours. Expect to be blown away.
Did not expect this type of restaurant when we planned our trip to the beach! The food and the service was absolutely incredible (get the steak Diane served tableside). The decor needs work as we felt we were in a set of a bad movie, and I was shocked to discover the restaurant had relocated there this past year (so is that a recent design choice in carpet, upholstery, and wall art?!) We were grateful to have Trey as our server as he had charm and a sense of humor while delivering top notch service to us.
Best restaurant and best wait staff in Myrtle Beach. The regular menu is amazing, then Chef Shad cooks up out of this world specials. Great wine list and the expertise to talk about it.
Classic cuisine prepared with care. Highly attentive service.
This was a miss for us. We were celebrating a 40th birthday and 2nd anniversary. Placed it on the reservation, no mention. Danny was a good waiter but we could see the other waiters were better engaged. He seemed too focused on upsells and we could tell. Been waiting years to come here and it missed our expectations by far. Saw other waiters wiping crumbs off the table and engaging in conversation. Food was good, but the steak was average st best. Fish was better and the drinks were well crafted but for the almost $300 it missed the mark for us. Would not return on other visits.
Great place with terrific food! Better location and romantic.
We were blown away with the service. Surf and turf outstanding, wine great and table side banana dish outstanding. Couldn’t have been more pleased and we eat out a lot.
Great bartender Josh. Great servers too. Totally enjoyed the food & staff
We came to
Wonderful food, ambiance, atmosphere, drinks- mojito, margarita, martini all great. Lamb and escargot outstanding, and banana flambé out of this world!
The food was overall good for our expectations of a restaurant such as The Library. We were looking for a place to go that required more than shorts and flip flops for our last dinner while on vacation and this restaurant provided for such an atmosphere.
Nice upscale place. Small dining area. You need reservations. Food was outstanding and service was excellent.
An absolutely fabulous meal.
Great food. Good wine list. A bit pricey.
Josh is an Amazing waiter, and made the experience that much better. Food was some of the best I have had. Great Redemption Ole Fashion and largest Lump Crab meat ever!!
Old school in a very good way. Steak Diane is to die for - unlike anything you’ve tasted anywhere. Caesar salad is excellent as always. Rack of lamb is amazing. Wine selection is awesome. We’ve been dining here for over 15 years. They’ve still got it!
Honestly wasn’t what we were expecting from other reviewers on open table. Our server was what you call a “used car salesman” and tried to up sell anything he could. Even when my kids wanted sprite he quickly requested strawberry dacquries instead. When ordering our dinner he made the comment: there’s 6 of you and so far 4 of you are having chicken...very rudely and once we ordered chicken and not a higher priced item, the service quickly disappeared. I do appreciate the napkin folding when leaving the table and the prebussing but not a family restaurant for sure. It’s more for first year daters or husbands who are in the dog house. Totally one and done.
Was disappointed in the food. My husband and I went her on our first date 26 years ago, then got engaged here, and dined here for our 5th Anniversary. Wanted to try the new location and was disappointed. I don’t we will return unfortunately.
Good food, an entree averages about $45, water costs $5, (just get tap water). This is one of the many restaurants that are promoting the idea that tipping to pay for the restaurant's employees should be 18 percent or even 25 percent. The bill will have a suggested gratuity, but it is only for stupid people who don't know that you don't tip on the sales tax. If you tip, it has always been 15 percent and you tip on the cost of the food, not the food and sales tax.
