George Restaurant is beautiful and the service was very good. The value for the food was below par for me. We had a group of 5 women and we each did the 5 course tasting menu. The food was good and beautifully prepared. I did have hair in 2 of my 5 dishes. The first time I though maybe it was my hair but realize the second time that it was not. The restaurant did cover the cost of one of our bottles of wine ($98). I would have expected them to cover my meal as well ($120). They apologized and were very embarrassed which I appreciate. We each had cocktails, tasting menu, 3 bottle of wine, limoncello and coffee with our bill at over $1000 I just wasn’t overly impressed with the value for the food/experience. The actual service was great and our waiter was amazing. I just think if I’m spending that much money on a dinner it should be flawless.
Excellent service. We had the 5 course tasting. What a great way to experience different kinds of food in a fun way. I eat with my eyes and each course was a beautiful presentation.
Ahhhhhhmazing! Imagine every good thing you could write about a meal out... that was my exact night!
exceptional food - well prepared, presented and explained!
The 7-course tasting menu was delicious and leisurely paced. I think we were there for almost 4 hours. Many of the courses had similar textures and flavor palettes. Each dish was quite heavily sauced and things skewed to the heavy side. It would have been nice to have a few "fresher" items in the mix to perk it up a bit. Presentation was beautiful though, and we enjoyed this culinary adventure.
Excellent service, creative menu & lovely decor.
It was a great night overall.
Slightly on the pricier side, but I believe it was worth it as it was a true experience.
We felt very special and everyone on staff was friendly and went out of their way to show us a great time.
We had the seven course tasting menu and we could have been rolled out of there as we were full!
But every dish was delicious. Loved it
Excellent food and service in a nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it.
My fav restaurant in Toronto! Exquisite food and fantastic staff / service
Classy ambience and attention to detail describes the service and atmosphere at George. Unique wine pairings with the tasting menu. Memorable evening!
We haven't been to George in many years. I was disappointed as the food lacked any kind of WoW. Our server was focused on 1 table, which seemed to be friends of hers. One of the best things they make is their flatbred. We asked for more and were told they ran out. Very surprising since the restaurant was only 1/2 full. In the end, the bill was quite high considering what we ate. I will not return.
Food and presentation was excellent, kudos to the chef. My favourite part was the company that I was with along with very nice ambience on the patio.
It was fabulous! Highly recommend for a special occasion!
Happy to have celebrated my wife's 40th Birthday in style with this dinner! Everything was top notch!
Had the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing. It was excellent, the server and sommelier were amazing.
We went to celebrate our son’s 30th birthday asked for patio table gorgeous we all had the five course tasting menu presentation beyond beautiful flavour combinations out of this world service fabulous every time we took a sip of water refilled table cleared new cutlery timing of courses perfect one of our favourite spots❤️❤️❤️❤️
We had a wonderful experience at George. We had a table of 4. The waitstaff were outstanding in their knowledge and accommodation to food allergies. We each had the 5 course meal. The courses were served with two different chef selections to each couple which was great to try 10 courses total. The wild boar was exceptional with a variety of flavors coming together. I left off one star on the food as it would be great to have a contrast spice sauce on the plate to draw a contrast to flavor and savor.
Lucas was attentive and guided us thru the tasting process.
I have been to George a few times before but this last time we went the service was not good. Our table constantly was missing a fork, servers did not take time to welcome us or explain food. The fois gras was under cooked. Overall the food was not as good as it used to be. I will likely not come back
Tasting menu was delicious as always. We come here all the time for special occasions.
Service was outstanding, we chose the five course tasting menu (blind tasting it’s what ever the chef’s choose) all were excellent except the cheese course which was very good. A must visit!
Great food and service
I went for my anniversary and I was extremely uncomfortable and disappointed.
Our waiter was extremely rude and if I’m being honest sexist in his actions. He refused to talk directly to me, he only talked to my boyfriend. When I would ask a question, he would turn to my boyfriend and look at him when he was answering, when I ordered the wine and my boyfriend didn’t say a single word, he handed the glass to him to taste when he knows nothing about wine. My boyfriend who never notices things like these brought it up to my several times throughout dinner that it made him uncomfortable. When I talked to the manager, instead of an apology, he blankly stared at me and said he would talk to him. The ironic part of this is with a bill over $400 that was being put on MY card, I should’ve been the one he was catering to. It’s unfortunate that this special night was ruined. Can’t imagine paying such prices again for such terrible service.
And not even an apology. It’s 2019, sexism at such a high end establishment is extremely unacceptable. Or any at all. Unfortunate because the food was very good.
One of the best places in Toronto for French cuisine with great service. My husband was there for the first time for his birthday and he loved it.
Nice vibes and atmosphere! Good food...
We have been before and is our favorite restaurant. We not only enjoy the cuisine but the wine pairings as well.
We visited George because it’s my husbands name and this restaurant is like an oasis in the desert ie the area was pretty dodgy but the experience was first class, in fact probably the best meal ever. We had the 5 course blind tasting which including the amuse bouche turned into a 12 course sharing menu . Every course was outstanding. Words cannot describe. . AWESOME
This place is amazing
When I go there with a friend, we always end up with a tasting menu, as there is so much detail in the options, you would need to study the menu for at least an hour, and who has time, when you want to catch up?
The patio is a total haven of wonderfulness...
water feature keeps us cool, and also is the white noise to keep conversations private.
Fabulous wait staff. Having been there every few months for years, I recognize them, and they recognize each.
Food is just downright crazy good .....
As always, the staff create an ambience that allows you to relax and enjoy the company you are sharing and all the tastes of the food that is so eloquently placed in front of us. Thank you for another great experience. Sincerely James Moon
Have been going here for years and it is always outstanding. In my opinion, is by far the best restaurant in the GTA in terms of the overall experience and is as good as anything anywhere.
I know all restaurants have difficulty with obstreperous guests however there was a table of four who were not loud and drunk but also using four letter words at the top of their voice. Dress codes have gone the way of the dodo bird but showing up at a lovely restaurant like George which is also expensive you’d expect guests Io wear something more that a white tee shirt
We had requested a booth off to the side which we didn’t get so we were right in the middle of the circus sideshow . It was extremely unpleasant.
As Well at the table beside us the people were eating with their hands and shoving food in their mouths. I guess there’s not much you can do about these kind of things except to not eat in a public restaurant
I will add that the sommelier continued to pour more and more wine to these people as the evening progressed even though it was obvious they had already had too much
Nice experience, my wife and I were Celebrating our 50th anniversary, we wanted a nice restaurant and were not disappointed. Service was excellent overall as was the person who looked after our table. Appreciated the glass of champagne provided by the restaurant plus the acknowledgement. Overall very pleased, will come back here.
Blind multi-course tasting menu, maybe pretentious (chef telling you what is good) and maybe causes a lack of focus on doing each course well. We had the seven course tasting menu. Most were good but not great tasting. When too many ingredients are separated on a plate, how does one assume they should be placed together in the mouth - especially when some are very minute portions? Unfortunately we have had better tasting menus at other restaurants (some more expensive and some less). Maybe it's me, but I don't want to share every course with my companion. This restaurant may be your style, but not ours.
An outstanding evening, food was exceptional as was our waitress. Wine sommelier was really helpful as wine list offered great choice.
Only slight disappointment was not to have been offered a bigger table, there were plenty for host to choose from.
Lovely touch from them as it was our wedding anniversary and my wife’s birthday.
Thanks for a great evening.
Fantastic evening! Unbelievable food and service. Little wonder why it’s the best of Toronto.
We had dinner on the patio. The service was great , the food was impeccable. It was magical!
Excellent food. Had the tasting menu. It was fantastic and extremely filling! Would come again!
Most incredible dining experience I've had in the city for a very long time. 5-stars ALL around.
Already referred a friend - it was excellent!!!! Can't wait to come back and book room #66
