We visit family in NYC very often and our go to restaurant is Cafe D’Alsace. The food is consistently delicious and we have enjoyed every meal we have had. We recommend the French onion soup and the frisée salad. Staff is very nice and accommodating

Started off with the country board of cheese and meats.....lovely presentation, very tasty meats with enough for the four of us. Entrees very very good: Hanger Steak, Atlantic Cod, Scallops and a Burger. All were good portions and extremely delicious. Cocktails were generous pours!! Definitely will return.

I particularly want to single out the woman who served our table, but unfortunately I do not know her name. We were four older adults with varying needs and she was very patient and courteous and understanding. And cheerful! Each of us was very pleased with our selections, which were presented well. I had the beets appetizer, which was a more than sufficient amount for lunch. My table mates had the salmon and lentils entrees, which were so generously sized, they took some home. All the food was fresh and delicious. I loved the room, the table was comfortable and roomy. My only complaint is that for older diners, the music makes conversation a challenge. That said, I look forward to returning.

Very busy evening on St Pat’s Day. Food was up to par as usual. Cocktails were very slow for some reason. Apps arrived prior to initial cocktails. Bone marrow one of my favorites here - usual portion of 4 bones but very little marrow in 3 of 4. Chicken, cod, sausages were excellent. This remains our standby spot in Yorkville.

Very rude staff. The hostess rolled her eyes when I checked out the back room for the first time and then asked to be seated in the front. The server would come and go in seconds before we could get in a word. He also did not take anaphylactic allergies seriously as I had to insist that he note them for the chef. The bus boy spent more time and patience caring for us than the waiter. Food was great as always though.

Absolutely LOVE Cafe D'Alsace! The food is wonderful, the ambiance is lovely, the Sommelier is always professional and accommodating. The service, however, is not attentive enough! I would recommend Cafe D'Alsace to anyone looking for a great restaurant on the upper east side.

We used to have dinner here on a regular basis when it was in its original location. Now that it's moved, the ambiance has lost its glow. We loved that it had this French bistro feel in the surroundings, it felt like we were transported to Paris. So when we went there recently to celebrate our anniversary, we were disappointed that it no longer had that Paris bistro 'vibe' we had grown to love from before. The food was very good, but somehow we just couldn't get past the atmosphere being so different. For us, dining here was a total experience. I would recommend that the owners please being back that Parisian bistro vibe! That's one of the main draws of this terrific French-inspired restaurant!

The reason for 3 star ambiance: we were seated in the back room which is significantly less nice than the main dining area. Service was ok, but a bit slow. Food was overall very good, and prices not as inflated as in many NYC restaurants these days.

Cafe D'Alsace is a neighborhood find. The food is awesome and the ambiance is lovely. We were there on a Saturday night after 7:00 p.m. and there were two screaming children opposite us whose parents ignored their inappropriate behavior. It was disconcerting as we had planned a lovely evening.

Focusing on the food, my overall sense of everyone at the table was that it was just okay. I, however, ordered the Belgium waffle and I am certain that it was straight out of a frozen package and microwaved. Tasted like cardboard. I really should have sent it back, but wasn't sure whether a substitute would have been that much better. I would not return to this restaurant again. On the bright side, I ordered a cappuccino and it was very good - actually had a second.

Brought friends from out of town for lunch. We spent 3 hours at our table eating and catching up. The servers were patient and food was great very happy with every aspect.
