Tidepools - Grand Hyatt Kauai
Our server, Dallas, was absolutely wonderful! It’s one of our fav places to go when we come to Kauai and this time proved once again that it is worth it. 10/10 will come back.
Overpriced for sure
Such a beautiful restaurant, great food and outstanding service
Unbelievable food, setting and service
Delicious food and drinks. Service was good despite the crowd.
The food is very fresh, fish caught that day, and the service very knowledgeable and attentive. The ambiance is great.
The food was very good as usual. The ambiance is always great. Our waiter was just okay, and for me, that is why I couldn’t give Tidepools five stars.
Beautiful place surrounded by pools of koi and natural materials. Each dish was excellent. Fish perfectly cooked. Good selection and use of fresh native ingredients. Service was on point. No complaints.
Service was excellent, food is tasty, view is great, beautiful Koi pond. Overall great dining experience!!
Went here 10 years ago and came back again for nostalgia reasons. It’s really nice and the staff is great. The food is ok but the koi fish ponds and atmosphere more then makes up for it. Make your reservation ahead of time and request an exterior table so you can really enjoy the koi fish. If your on the south shore this is a must go for sure.
The food was excellent and well worth the money, but the wine list was somewhat sad. $10-$12 bottles readily available down the street went for $50 to $60.
Fabulous food. The crab cakes were outstanding and the fish dishes were excellent. Our server, Les, created a wonderful experience for us. Thank you! We will be back.
Our waiter Les is a Treasure, food terrific, ambiance, chefs supreme
We went here on our last night in Kauai and it was fabulous. Prime rib with scallops was amazing as was my husbands filet mignon. Great service. Great ambiance. Would absolutely recommend!
Slow service but generally good experience for special occasion. Staff seemed upset that we were 5 min early for our 5:30 pm reservation. Their attitude set a dull spirit into our special evening.
A little expensive but good. Great fish and seafood.
Beautiful Location, delicious food, the only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that my dinner date and I were seated in a very loud location where they seat all the bigger groups,...it was very warm and humid...took away from the romantic vibe...
This was exceptional dining! We drove from the north end of Kauai and it was well worth the drive. The ambiance was amazing. Food was amazing. Service was exceptional.
Romantic setting surrounded by water and koi fish
Waiter was slow, not helpful. Forgot about us, then messed up order, then forgot again. Never even apologized
Great food and service.
We were disapointed. If you are sitting in the middle of the restaurant, there is no view. Food was excellent. This is an expensive restaurant. Service was ok but we have had much more attentive service at much less expensive restaurants.
Our meal and evening at Tidepools was magical! Joy was an outstanding server, the food was delicious and our drinks were tasty!!
This is a beautiful, intimate, and airy restaurant!
Can’t wait to return!!
Just had a fantastic meal along the tide pool. All servers were friendly and attentive. Rob was the best!!
A little disappointed. My fish was over cooked and dry and service was just ok. Neat location though just not sure it was worth the price tag.
Atmosphere was great. Food was good. We had the crab cakes which was our least favorite. The crab was very finely shredded and mushy. The sauce tasted like mayo. The arugula salad was very good. I have the poke duo - Ahi was spot on delicious - hamachi was fishy. Husband had the prime rib. It was good - not the best we’ve had. Overall you can’t beat the ambiance - so worth the experience.
The whole Snapper fried with Kimchee fried rice was phenomenal!! Excellent service and spectacular view.
Très bon. Belle présentation. Très bon service. Décor super.
Went here for our anniversary and they sat us at an amazing table next to a waterfall. Food was excellent and the server we had even brought us a special treat at the end for the occasion. I especially recommend the macadamia nut crusted mahi-mahi.
The ambiance was great. The food portions were small and not as good for the price we paid. The server was decent.
Didn’t seat us until 20 minutes after our reservation.
My father was sick and couldn't make dinner, so our 4 top changed to a two spot at the last minute. Heads up all two tops are in the hallway between the pods. Felt very second class having everyone pass us by during our dinner. My recommendation would be to take one pod and make space for a couple of two tops. Food was good and presentation nice. If you're not staying at the Hyatt no need to travel here for dinner.
The ambience here is nice, but I was not at all impressed with the food. There are much better options in Kauai.
Food was excellent. Service was exceptional. 20th Anniversary ...hoping for a table near water...but got seated in middle of room. We put 20th Anniversary on reservation....wished they would have taken that into consideration. Waiter was great. Got a very nice dessert complimentary.
Simply the best for food, ambiance and service. Great location. Easy access. Valet parking stamp. Best island fish.
Had a delicious and relaxing dinner last night. The choices were made easy by our incredible personable server named LES . Please give LES a shout out for his great service and humor. We were two couples... long time friends catching up. Have dined here several times over the years but last night was a highlight. Also enjoyed meeting the manager who dropped by to chat. Each of us loved our martini’s, wine and appetizers. The entrees of fish... outstanding. Les surprised us with a chocolate lava cake/with ice cream. Thank you Hyatt for this wonderful staff! ( starting with the friendly welcome at the front of the hotel)... we will definitely return!!!
Had the crab cakes and scallops for appetizers and they were only okay. The crab cakes were soggy and the scallops were nothing to talk about. Both my husband and I had the opah for dinner and it was very dry. Unfortunately my peice was very boney. To top everything off our waiter was pretty much horrible. Don’t waste your time.
We were not staying at the Grand Hyatt but were recommended to go to Tidepools by a family member. We were in Kaua'i for our honeymoon and this was our big date night splurge. The setting was really cool and we got a table right by the water. We did have to wait about 15 minutes to be seated despite having a reservation. If you're going here for dinner, just know that you're going to spend a lot. There were no meals under $45 and just one glass of wine was close to $20. The food was delicious though and we enjoyed the views as the sunset while we ate dinner. Recommend if you want a romantic experience and don't mind spending extra money for the experience!
Food was excellent. I had a filet cooked to perfection
Service was good also
