The food was tiny portions and so much more fussy than it used to be. Overall, the portion size and fussiness of what used to be exceptional and accessible farm to table food made us decide that sadly we do not have a desire to return. We have been coming to Flea Street for more than 15 years and have loved it as a special neighborhood staple. We are sad that it has taken this turn.

Flea Street is the place we go to celebrate. Today was my friend’s birthday and we had a wonderful dinner and great service, as usual. At the moment they have a lamb chop appetizer that is so delicious. I also recommend the Jalisco Flower cocktail.

Over the past six months, they appear to have changed their quality of food. I’ve been coming for many years, but this time was very different. Food was very bland. This would not matter as much if the prices reflected it, but they are still pricing as though they are serving well thought out dishes. A meal for two with two drinks each was $350. I am OK spending that occasionally for interesting food and great service, but this was neither. Also, the dishes were not timed, and they kept bringing out our next course before we finished the previous one.

Food is great. Very Freud my service. But they are too aggressive to clear the table. Very polite but they cannot stand a part empty plate. Had to ask three times to please let us take our time. Appetizers canes with drinks. Instead of a few minutes to enjoy the drinks. Felt like they were ruching us.

What a wonderful meal! Everything was fresh and well prepared. The potatoes with the filet mignon were not crisp as advertised (buried under the steak, they were soggy and steamed). Missed riesling on the list of white wines available. A $15 beer was disappointing to be served in a can! Could have been poured into a beer glass. The prices were high, but it was a special meal. Flavors were all delicious. Filet mignon especially good. Best lobster bisque I've had in decades. Will certainly return, but not for such an expensive meal.

After dozens of dinners at Flea Street over several years it never fails to delight me. It’s as close to perfection as a restaurant can be, and believe me I’m a very difficult person to please. From Eloy’s cocktails to the creative desserts and great espresso (and why is it that so many restaurants just cannot pull a decent shot?) restaurantress Jesse Cool nails it.

This was my second time at Flea Street and it was such a wonderful experience. The staff is so calm, kind and accommodating. I asked about their to-go gluten-free rolls and the chef was so kind to prepare a tasting for me, with beautifully carved butter, baby carrots from their garden with a savory herbs and olive oil, along with bread rolls for my +1. The food is delightful, the ambience calming and again, amazing staff.

food was very good and innovative as usual. i enjoyed the broccoli soup and crab cake. my husband had the pork chop and the mixture on top was delicious. i was taken aback a bit by the prices. we were there a few months back and they've gone up more than expected since then. i guess it may be due to the crab season making it less available. but most things seemed to be up. i guess that's what happens these days. Still a lovely meal with friends.

Warm and cozy ambiance, excellent service and knowledge of servers. Food is unique with interesting twists, and of course delicious. Every dish we ordered was fantastic. Presentation of the food was done just right, not over the top. Portions are respectable. Flea street cafe is a must if you are in the Palo Alto/ Menlo Park area.
