The distinctive décor featuring rough-hewn beams, antique farm equipment, and walls covered in Basin Harbor nostalgia makes The Red Mill Restaurant a resort favorite. The renovated sawmill features the best fresh and local food ingredients, along with signature Vermont brews, including our own Red Chair Ale. It is a casual dining experience you will appreciate.

And where else in VT can you fly in for a burger? Our grass airstrip is a great destination for small planes. The Red Mill also has an enormous outdoor play structure, guaranteed to provide hours of fun for the younger crowd…Just another reason we are family approved! Tax and service is additional. Open seasonally, late May to mid October.

Although the staff were all kind and friendly, the time spent waiting to get a server to come over was excessive. We waited more than 15 minutes. My husband and I both ordered soup to begin with and it took a very long time to get that, as well. The fish and chips consisted of two pieces that were not very large, and the “chips” were 3 potato slices. The price was $25 and that was way out of line. The cheddar ale soup was tasty and the Caesar salad was good, also. I’m my opinion, there were not many choices.

We’ve been boating to the Red Mill Restaurant for many seasons and have always enjoyed the experience. While the staff remains friendly and the food quality generally good, we’ve noticed the menu has continued to shrink over time. This season, it’s become especially limited and, unfortunately, quite disappointing—with no specials offered during our visit. We sincerely hope to see more variety and exciting options return to the menu in the near future.

We were seated indoors and the noise level was so high we couldn't have a conversation.

What a great place to dine as the summer season begins. The rustic nature of the restaurant makes it relaxing and casual. The service was great and friendly. Very attentive to our needs. The adult beverages were done well. The food was delicious and portions were the correct amounts. We celebrated a birthday and they were generous by offering the birthday boy a free dessert!

Potatoes were cool and wrong salad was delivered. Cocktail came with main course. Too noisy. If not the only place openon Monday i would not go.

We had a great time at the Red Mill with our (mostly well behaved) kids. We sat at a high top - watched a football game and enjoyed the food. Service and other patrons were quite friendly. Will come back.
