Very good service and the overall ambiance is fantastic. We booked ahead to get a table overlooking the falls. My wife got a truffle pasta dish which really was a 10. However I got a beef tenderloin for $58 that was just meh…. Coupled with the fact that I asked for medium fully expecting it would be slightly under that, and instead it was overcooked and closer to the well done end. Unfortunately on a cut like this it robbed the meat of most of its flavor. The accompanying au jus that went with it was also lacking in taste and the small potatoes and rutabaga were also very bland. However the waiter was very accommodating and was also disappointed for us and included our post dinner hot drinks and crème brûlée for no charge. Crème brûlée was one of the best I’ve had and it’s pretty much a staple for my wife and I whenever we eat out. So overall, I would suggest this restaurant to try if you’re in the area, but hopefully if you are considering the beef tenderloin they improve on the dish on every level. The resort and spa with the hot springs and the 2 person hot tub on our back patio also made the stay truly one to remember.

Sangria was watered down. Tasted of club soda had to ask for additional cranberry juice to add bit of taste.. Latte was 1/2 full I. A small cup. It looked and tasted like dirty water. Asked server and she said it’s from a machine. For a high end restaurant to have a machine latte was disappointing additionally the machine was not working properly. Had to ask server for extra milk so it was drinkable. Overall I expected better quality of food especially for the prices being charged.

My husband and I used to dinne at Millcroft a few times a year for special occasions. Lately, the service and food quality are not at the same high standards as they practiced before. The prices are ridiculously high compared to the quality and quantity of food served these days. Starting with the hostess who had offered us a table with no wiew, in the middle of the way in an empty restaurant claiming that all other tables are reserved. We made this reservation weeks prior but were treated like walkins , it made us feel that some customers are more important than others and for a returning customer it felt quite insulting, given that the restaurant remained not even 50% occupied by the time we finished dinner. The food in general is OK , some appetizers come in large portions, especially the greens salat, two can comfortably share. For mains we had steaks that came in very, very small portion, overcooked and no taste, that were accompanied by some wired potatoes selection and consume (soupe like souce) that did not enhanced its flavor but actually made the potatoes soggy. For a $58 steak, we expected perfection! This was not nearly satisfying. Perhaps other dishes may be more appealing, but we recommend staying away of this one foresure. All in all, this is just an ok restaurant located in the countryside where one can have a quiet dinner but their prices are no longer justified relative to what is offered and the service is lacking charm and skill, sad to see that it lost its edge over the time!

The food and service is great. The state of the accomodations and condition of the hotel is horrendous. It is essentially a tear down. No significant upgrades have been done to this place since probably the 90's (maybe longer) and it shows. I felt like I was staying in a haunted house when I stayed in Room 103 of the Crofts. I would not return to this place unless there is a major renovation.

Portions are ridiculously small and taste is only OK. The dessert was embarassingly stingy - the smallest scoop of ice cream I've ever been served atop two pieces of pear that look like mini carrots. Even presentations were on the amateurish side.

The Headwaters was a highlight of our stay at the Millcroft Inn. The ambience and decor was appealing and somewhat fresher than other parts of the Inn. The food was very good, and the menu imaginative, the presentation lovely. But special credit goes to the Headwaters staff who were not only professional and well-trained, but genuinely friendly and gave every appearance of enjoying their work and their guests.

We were not happy with the meals we had for breakfast.( eggs were overcooked, hashbrowns were dry and had a hint of fish taste to them. They were over fried or fried in old oil.) We spoke to the manager at the restaurant , she informed us that she would be talking to someone in the front. She did not seem to care that we were not happy , I thought that she'd do something about it besides offer us a mimosa... very disappointing to say the least...

Our dinner was delicious. Only rated 4 stars as tenderloin was rare when medium-rare was requested and meat was under seasoned. Could have used a tastier sauce than the truffle jus, ie a bernaise. Accompanying potatoes were overdone while rutagaga was underdone. Mushroom croute appetizer was packed w flavour. Greens w figs so-so as figs were bland. Halibut other main was exquisite and the desserts were over-the-top: rum crème brûlée and assorted sorbet w berries. Just gorgeous!

We have been to Millcroft several times for dinner. We were also married there in July. Every time prior to this experience the food was absolutely outstanding. Guests were impressed by the quality of food at our wedding. This time, however it was very disappointing. When booking on OpenTable I specifically put in the notes that we wanted the Pod and to let us know if this wasn’t possible so we could come at at different time. Additionally, we all had the filet mignon and it was VERY underwhelming. There was no flavour and the servers poured a soup like substance over it which also had no flavour and took away from the steak itself. The potatoes were just ok but soggy from whatever they poured on it. We were planning on returning for our first year anniversary dinner, but are reconsidering.

Honestly a huge disappointment compared to our experience pre-Covid. The service was a little ‘un-refined’ (and they twice got our orders wrong?!). We had read a lot about the Chef (he was off the night we dined) and we were super pumped to try the food - very dissatisfied with most of the flavour profiles (bland). Given the price point it really should have been much much better.

It is a very nice upscale. It was our first time and we had very high expectations. We went when there was a set menu for Valentine’s Day I’m sure their menu on a normal occasion could be better. The soup we had and the tenderloin made us both sick. We went home with sore stomachs into the morning

My following comments are fair, given the price of the dishes. For $55-$58 per entree, I expect perfectly cooked and presented dishes. The garden greens salad appetizer was meal size. It was good but overwhelming for my friend. I think an appetizer should not be large enough to spoil your appetite before the entree. My mushroom app was delicious but also too large, again, I was full before the main course. My scallops where tasty, but too salty. They also were not evenly cooked, with a few heavily carmalized, and one small one with no colour at all. One was also a tad gritty, a challenge with scallops. The raviole, which were described as having a goat cheese filling were actually empty, no filling visible at all, although there was a faint whiff of cheese flavour. The server asked if we were celebrating and we were, my friend’s birthday was Feb. 1, and mine was to follow, two days after our dinner. We dined on February 12th to celebrate both. There was no offer of a celebratory dessert, or even a chocolate, to share.

We went just for afternoon coffee and dessert. Grounds are gorgeous, ambience is great. Specialty coffees were disappointing as one was cold and other was lukewarm and they had no whipped cream left (Irish and Spanish coffees). The cold one was replaced with a warm one (not hot). Desserts were great. We will return though to give it another try.

The bill I signed was $360. Way too much for one couple. Meal was sub par in taste. The only thing that was okay was the shrimp side. And the desert - cheesecake and crème brûlée. Otherwise extremely overpriced for dinner. I know they are a part of the vintage hotel brand but this place is sub par to all other vintage hotels. On the plus, service was amazing. They take care of you very well and wine was delicious. Dinner coupled with one night stay and breakfast was $1000. Not with that. Maybe worth half that. Left disappointed. Breakfast was very good and was par for price. Very delicious and filling. Dinner, not so much.
