Portions were small for such an expensive experience. Parts of the food were either overcooked, undercooked and broccoli was soggy. Got a 22oz steak and half of it was all fat no meat...waste of money. I Had to send sweet potato casserole back. A side order portion for two for $10 was more like one spoonful.
Everything was amazing! Definitely going back!!
It was on the higher end of price for a Steakhouse but everything we had was delicious. Staff was tentative and friendly.
Always a great dinner. Steaks were done perfectly. Lobster voodoo a nice touch. Bar seating and the live trio made it all the more enjoyable. Christa our server was very attentive. Thanks Ruth!
Never had a bad steak at Ruth’s Chris, but petite Filet was tough and grisly. Usually tender from the first bite, this one was disappointing.
Ambiance, Service, Food....Fantastic! Family birthday celebration!
We dine here often, love the food and ambiance.
Sherry assisted us Saturday and she was AMAZING!
Great smile, personality and amazing spirit. We throughly enjoyed our experience with her!
Food and service was very good. Room for as noisy and tables packed closely.
We thoroughly enjoyed our (first) dining experiencethere, celebrating a milestone anniversary. I rated it good value because we were able to take advantage of a “Prime Time” special offered from 4-6PM. Our experience included extraordinary hospitality and service as well as well prepared, delicious food. We’re looking forward to another special occasion that will warrant fine dining!
First and last time here as we were disappointed in our experience.
Requested quiet table through Open Table. They tried to seat us just inside a crowded side room where everyone would be passing by our table. Asked for back corner table instead and then had to ask for extra place settings to be removed?
Ordered salads as there was only one non-fish appetizer offered? Salads good but blue cheese on Wedge was lacking some flavor/quality.
Main courses not up to our standards or expectations. I’m not a steak fan but love fish and was disappointed they only offer 2 main options. King salmon was perfectly done but nothing special. Ribeye was cooked to appropriate med-rare but lacked a proper sear to create yummy crust. We are used to well-prepared meat and fish when we dine out (at less expensive restaurants than RK’s!) and at home where we sous vide for great flavor and texture.
Requested baked potato toppings on the side but came drowning in melted butter/oil?, little sour cream, littlebacon and smgreen onions. For $9 should have sent it back but didn’t bother.
Brussel sprouts tasted and smelled strongly of bacon fat or slightly rancid grease and were drowning in mixture. Unappetizing waste of good sprouts.
Complimentary bread VERY good but butter was tasteless. Expected top quality European style or equivalent. Same with butter on potato.
Was celebrating a bday and manager brought a card and $25 GC for future visit. Nice touch, but would have been good to be told about complimentary bday dessert which arrived after we ordered and were sharing a dessert off menu.
Overall cost of mediocre dining experience was over $250 including tip. Fortunately that was somewhat offset by $125 in GC’s from our credit card points.
Hence the ‘first and last time’ remark. StL has a lot better dining experiences to offer.
Food and service were excellent as usual. Eat here 3or 4 times a year!
Ruth Chris is consistently good. Service was outstanding and very friendly.
The waitress was terrible! She was quite rude and literally over charged us $43!! We ordered from the “summer price fix menu” — But when we only ordered one dessert rather than one for each of the four of us, she said she rang it up individually to save us money. We did not ask her to do this and in fact she didn’t save his money she charged us way more by doing it al a cart. The individual pricing clearly cost us $43 more. We tried repeatedly to explain it to her and she just didn’t understand. Since we had another party with us we simply just gave up and paid and will never return to this restaurant again! The food was terrible also — medium rare steaks were cooked beyond well done!
Ian was our server and he knew the menu and explained it to us with ease. We went for my husbands birthday and they made it very special. We sat outdoors and were very surprised that they had a band playing. It was an amazing experience and we will definitely be back again!!!!
Wedge salad need more bacon and some onion would of made it flavorful
To loud, waiters in the back kept dropping the F bomb.
did not receive any recognition form the management. when he was clearly going around to the tables in back and in front of us. just because we were celebrating our 31 anniversary. our waiter almost did not give our three chocolate dipped strawberries till the last minute.
We love our regular server TC. The GM always greets us personally. The food is always great. Nikki the bartender is reason enough to stop in. We’ll be back soon!
We took my uncle for his birthday, we knew the food would be well prepared, we were pleasantly surprised by how special they made my uncle feel!
Ruth's Chris never disappoints. Upscale and delicious. Had a lovely evening on the patio dining and listening to the Ralph Butler Band.
Superb customer service
Easily a 5 star restaurant
Exceptional steaks and seafood! Great menu options for kids too! The service was excellent! Not too close but always there. They made our Birthday celebration feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. The ambiance is upscale! The desserts were to die for! Thanks for giving us a memorable experience!
I was treated for my birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our server, Chris, and the Manager, Chris, ensured everthing went perfectly. The three-course-meal options fit my taste and made me happy. Thank you for the card too!
Service was wonderful however food was really unremarkable I even had to send my steak back as it was not cooked correctly. However the staff was very kind to us for our anniversary
Once again we were treated to a great meal with exceptional service. This place pulls out all the stops and is a reliably good choice for a special occasion.
Very unhappy with our evening. Took 45 mins to get our first drink and then water came after that. Second drink not any better. Excuse was “the patio was busy.” Slow to order, slow to get our food..... The server was not very professional but she was nice. Everyone around seemed frustrated with their evening. No interest in going back.
My wife and I dined here for our anniversary. They rolled out the red carpet for us. The food was exceptional and so was the service.
They rolled out the red carpet for our anniversary dinner. Their service is spectacular. The on-floor manager worked the room and gave each table personalized attention. We love Ruth’s Chris! Oh and the steaks are the best! Can’t wait to go back!
Excellent experience as always. Would have preferred option to reserve a booth but the table experience was fine. Food & drinks were excellent as always. Service was top notch and responsive. It’s an expensive but worthwhile experience each time.
Food was pretty good. Waiter kept excusing himself and interrupting our conversation. Very annoying. Not a good place for a business dinner for $65o+
At first the server was great. The appetizer came out and it was fantastic. After that we waited quite a while for our food and had to wait for staff to remove our appetizer plate. Had to ask for another drink. Felt as though we were a burden. Steaks came out and they were just ok. Steaks were not seasoned properly and were not cooked as ordered. Unfortunately we wint never be back and it was our first visit.
Food is incredible. Wait staff... not so much. When we go to a fine restaurant, we expect a lot. We specifically requested a booth, and the hostess tried to put us at a table. I said no thanks, we’ll wait for a booth, and was quickly met by a put out attitude. Twenty minutes later a booth is available and Miss Attitude shows us the way. Hands us off to the wait staff with contempt. Waiter is for the most part cordial, but a putz. After repeating things a few times on the order, I’ve grown frustrated with the whole place. Not sure if we’ll go back. Way too many choices for fine dining...
It was my wife and I’s wedding anniversary and I took her to Ruth’s Chris. It was an amazing experience. Our waiter, Bill, was awesome and super friendly. The food was literally the best meal I’ve ever had. We can’t wait to go back!
Great food and service. Thank you for the Anniversary card and gift card.
This is, as always, one of the premiere places in St. Louis to get an outstanding steak, and it's even better during Clayton Restaurant Week with the special deals. You're always going to spend a lot of money here, but it's perfect for special meals and business. I'm still not sold on the 500-degree plates they bring out with the steaks. They warn you, of course, but even an accidental brush against it can leave a welt, as it did for my wife. I just don't get it and don't think it's worth the risk. The steaks are already unbelievably delicious, so I just don't see what the hot plates add, other than danger.
The service alone at Ruth's Chris would be worth a visit. However, having a steak that almost literally melts in your mouth would bring me back in a second. My only "beef" with the place is that some of the items are a little overpriced. $10 for a baked potato seems excessive, but I'm sure that keeps people from coming in and just ordering sides.
For a night out with that special someone, Ruth's Chris is hard to beat. We were treated like royalty from the second we walked in the door, to the moment we left. My wife and I came in for her birthday, and were dressed casually. She was treated as though she was decked out in diamonds and myself in Armani.
Go check this place out for the next date night!
Ian was great.
We went for restaurant week. My steak was fatty and tough...I was disappointed with the meal. Otherwise the experience was OK for what it costs.
Our waiter Christopher was excellent. I have high expectations for dining, and Christopher didn’t disappoint. The food was excellent as expected, but t was the staff that made the experience.
We had a great evening with our sons. The food was spectacular and Christopher provided great service. This is my families favorite restaurant.
