Socarrat, the quintessence of the perfect paella and for which the restaurant is named, is the delectable, sensuous crust that forms on the bottom of the paella pan when the liquid is rendered and the rice reaches its peak of succulence. The menu, an authentic array of delicious dishes from the regions of Spain specializing in traditional tapas with an accent on paella that can be characterized as a true exploration for the palette.

Socarrat Nolita's ambiance denotes feelings of warmth, comfort, and hospitality. Building on its sister restaurant's identity as a small, intimate space comprised primarily of one large communal table, the restaurant also offers banquet, bar and table seating.

This place was SO FUN! We went last night for Flamenco Tuesday (they do it every Tuesday), and the music and dancing was so fun! Food and drinks were also amazing. Ambiance is fun and family-oriented. Absolutely recommend!!

Went for restaurant week. The appetizers and paella were delicious. The dessert was just ok, but didn't matter because the food was so delicious. Service was excellent. Kept a cool vibe (literal and figurative) even though it was 90degrees outside! This restaurant has a fun atmosphere.

Such a great place! Did brunch with a group. All the breakfast dishes were amazing and the paella was super cool. Only recommendation to staff is to bring drinks out a little more quickly during the bottomless because sometimes we had to try to flag them down

I was really wanting squid ink paella. Their version is apparently a Valencian version that is really dry. The rice has to be scraped off the pan. There was no real flavor of the ink mixed with the juices of the seafood, which is what makes this dish so delicious. Very disappointing.

Wow!! The food was incredible. We had many of the Tapas plates and a board. Also…the dessert was really good. Every staff member was nice and actually smiled when they spoke to us. Atmosphere is fun!! Patricia was really great and guided us on various dishes to try.

We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Tuesday which is when they have the Flamenco performance. It was a great choice! The staff is super friendly, the food was great and the performance was amazing! Would highly recommend.

Of the theee Socarrat restaurants, this is my favorite for ambiance. Croquetas and Brussel Sprouts were excellent starters. The "Socarrat" namesake paella was delicious - shrimp, fish, mussels and chicken, with flavorful rice. As we were near finishing the dish, a server kindly offered to scrape up the crusty socarrat at bottom of the pan. That's an entree and dessert in one dish! Had room for churros, dipped in chocolate. Nice selection of wines, some by the glass. Service was friendly, upbeat, attentive, and helpful with suggestions. Outdoor seating was comfortable and good for people watching. Inside tables had open air feeling because the wall facing the front was removed. Wonderful evening.

we had a drink at the bar a few days ago, and enjoyed the ambiance. We noticed that there is a weekly Flamenco night on Tuedays, so we returned for dinner and the show. We arrived a half hour before the performance so we could order before the show began. Our server was prompt and attentive, and we ordered a variety of tapas and champagne sangría. The sangría was delicious and all of our tapas were perfectly prepared. The show was a lot of fun, combining flamenco guitar and dance with some numbers where patrons could join in the dance--people who knew how to dance to the music, and some of us who did not! Throughout the show, service was attentive and unobtrusive. Our server even sang a number, with a beautiful voice. We plan to return to try the paella and will bring our friends.

One of the best paella experiences in NYC. Sometimes, I think the paella here is better than what I have had even in some places in Barcelona!!
