    We love Chapeau. Charming restaurant with outstanding food. We enjoyed our 4 course meal with wine pairing. It was our anniversary and we received a happy anniversary plate with candle to help us celebrate.

    Never a disappointing experience at Chapeau. The filet mignon was a perfect medium rare, the sauce is to die for and the onion on top was a perfect touch. I got the cab sauv and it paired deliciously in my opinion. My grandmother had the Branzino, and it melted in your mouth. Exactly what a fish plate should be. The cassoulet was savory, and filling. We got the crème brûlée for dessert and it was the perfect way to end the meal.

    An absolutely delightful evening with my old friend and his wife who live in Fairbanks, Alaska who have never been to SF. Staff created a family style experience out of their perfect menu and even my eight year old son was impressed. It could not have gone better.

    Chapeau is reliably good for French comfort food. It is great for special occasions, as well as casual mid-week dining. We have always been made to feel like special guests, despite not being long time patrons.

    When the executive chef comes out to greet you and thank you for dining with them, you now you will have a great experience - reservations for 5pm, seated promptly, they shared specials, walked us thru the menu, took our order..nice little tomato soup, bread with butter came out..We ordered the moules frites, duck breast, branzino, escargots and the creme brûlée (I was hoping to see the whole fish de-boned head and all, thats how I normally get the branzino in other restaurants), but it tasted great. plating was was very nice for all the dishes..great ambience, I like how they gave most guests the corner for more privacy..the intentionality of that shows they care..will be back soon and go for the filet mignon. thanks for a great experience and meal!

    Family run restaurant with a friendly and warm vibe. Classic French menu executed perfectly. Many options for the three or four course menus. Great desserts! We'll be back.

    My experience at Chapeau was superb. I ordered from the three-course meal menu and every dish was delightful. A superb dinner. We will definitely be back.

    Chose this place because of the floating island, which is my husband's favorite dessert. It was fantastic, and the rest of the meal didn't disappoint. The salade lyonnaise was superb, with salty lardons and an absolutely perfectly poached egg. I had the cassoulet, which was delicious but very, very filling. My husband's filet mignon was also excellent, extremely tender and nicely rare. We chose the 4-course option and had a grilled scallop in an amazing grapefruit sauce. It was indescribably good. Honestly, I'd go back just to have that salade lyonnaise again and again.

    What a wonderful experience! I went to this restaurant with family for many years and it was a wonderful, neighborhood, delicious gem. I had not been there in quite awhile and it was even better than before! I was immediately welcomed at the door and continued to receive extraordinary service all night long. From the Pomegranate Martini to the Profiteroles, everything was fantastic. I particularly love that they have a petit menu on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday that is wonderfully priced. I thought the portions might be small but they were hearty. The mushroom starter was rich, earthy and delicious. The pork tenderloin was cooked to perfection, and the profiteroles...there aren't enough superlatives for good profiteroles with a rich, deep chocolate sauce poured over them. I definitely will return to this lovely gem.
