We came here for the Valentine’s Day special $50 pp three courses. The waitress Jamal was very friendly and we even got complimentary small glasses of champagne! The environment was great and lounge-like. We ordered six different menu items from the special menu. Some of the items were very good (desserts scrumptious) but they were very small portions. The oysters were very briny (moreso than the west coast oysters I’m used to). The ravioli was a little dried and came in three small pieces, as did the sweet potato gnudi (both were flavorful). The lobster claws were very good but were no larger than a small appetizer size for one and finished in 2 bites each. We went to Portillos after dinner to feel full with some Chicago dogs. It made for a great night in the river north area and I know this place is very fancy/could’ve been much more expensive, but I wish the dinner was filling enough!

Wanted to try their restaurant week menu a few weekends back and was really looking forward to it. We came in and got seated at the "over flow" cocktail tables upstairs at blue violet. Our server gave us both menus and proceeded to say that one menu wasn't served upstairs- not sure why she even gave it to us in the first place. That immediately killed the mood to even want to dine there. I asked if we could wait for a table that opened downstairs and she said no there wasn't room. Not sure why you would overbook yourself and then place dinners upstairs on wobbly bar stools and tables. we couldn't get comfortable enough to dine so we gave up on that idea and just had a drink. The server recommended a celery based drink and it was awful! Super bitter and just not smooth at all, she was kind enough to swap it out for the Cloud Nine and that definitely made up for it! Overall just wish they wouldn't have over booked the dinning downstairs or at least had as wait for a table since we gladly would have.

Pricey for shared portions. I really liked the burger sliders and the rose Panna Cotta. The others we ordered were decent but not super impressed. We ordered from restaurant week prixe fix menu which saved us some money but even then, it was still very expensive. I'm paying more for the food creativity and presentation. Service and atmosphere was excellent and enjoyable.

We went to this restaurant based on a recommendation of a friend. upon entry to the restaurant i noticed the opened space with tables and booths around the walls with a U shaped bar in the middle. It is trying to resemble an old speakeasy but the furniture itself looks dusty and old.. Our server approached us to take our order...We had to re order twice because our first two selections were not available due to them "retooling" the menu...I will say that despite this...we started with oysters....the presentation was amazing and unique...served in a large wooden drawer. beyond the presentation the oysters were EXCELLENT...perhaps better than the oysters we had in Seattle recently. The shucker deserves props for leaving the oyster liquor in the shells with the oyster. I then had a tuna ahi appetizer which was served on little cracks..the size of the dish was small so perhaps it was a sharable plate, but it was very good, just not much tuna on the plate. Also ordered was the lobster skewers, which amounted to a few pieces of deep fried lobsters..My friend asked for butter and pulled off the breading and enjoyed the dish much more than how it was presented. Anyway i couldve done without coming here but the oysters sure made it worth it certainly.

What a great remodel. 10/10 they have 3 floors. First floor is a restaurant with amazing food try the salmon.! The second floor is a hidden gem cocktail lounge with tons of flowers all over. 3rd floor is a nightclub lounge very classy. One stop shop must see in river north!

Food was very good except for the flatbread. It was very basic. Nothing special. Our server was excellent and very attentive. Support staff were a little overbearing - filling waters when we only had take a sip or removing plates before we were finished, but always better than inattentive service. Wine menu was good and well priced. We will go back for sure.

Not sure how to rate this. I shouldn’t have been able to make a reservation for an establishment that is permanently closed. Also shouldn’t have been able to buy a Groupon for brunch. Bad form, guys. Ive been here before and this is not something I’d expect you.

Food was good, drinks inventive. Loud even though not packed. Service was slow, I think the fault was staffing not the server. Had to ask twice for someone to find the waiter. Another table just helped themselves to more plates and utensils. This was 7pm on a Friday night with other restaurants up and down the street, not the way to effectively compete, I don’t think

Food was so so but expensive, not up to the quality I’d expect for the price we paid . It was a Friday night so it was busy but we had at least three waiters at first and towards the end we waited for 15 minutes for a drink order.

I think there was only one server for the entire place! She did a great job considering how busy it was, but management should consider upping the staffing because we would have spent a lot more if the drinks didn’t take 15-20 minutes.

Menu looked great which is why we selected it, but the food we received was really disappointing. We went for brunch. Ordered Tuna Tartar; Kale Salad; and Burger. Burger was dry and overcooked Kale salad was terrible (limp, and overall not fresh) - dressing not tasty Tartar was ok The place was empty during peak Sunday Brunch time (12:00 p.m.), and it's not surprising. Waited with empty water glasses far too long; Got unlimited Bloody Mary's, but didn't get them timely, so that was a waste of investment.

In fairness, it was a Monday night. We asked them to turn down the music twice and they did, but it was still quite loud. The food was very good, the service was fine, except for the dessert/coffee. Our dessert took 45 minutes to arrive and the coffee never did - eventually the waiter said the coffee machine was broken.

A cozy place to dine and refuge from the cold on a February Winter night in Chicago. Appetizers were terrific, we sampled our way through the menu and also enjoyed the Old Fashioneds and the Wine List.
