   I truly wish I could remember our waitress name but he had a section outside, and had long ish hair and blue eyes. He was amazing!!! Me and my boyfriend took my mom out for mother’s day and he was extreme attentive and nice and explained any questions she had about the food! The food was also amazing, genuinely one of the best salmons I’ve had. He also checked with us frequently!

   We hadn't been to Mariposa in a while, but we are adding it back to the roster! Good food at affordable prices in a great setting.

   The lamb burger & Greek salad we shared was DELICIOUS & the baklava frangipane tarta was the 💣😋😋😋 Adam provided excellent & attentive service!👏🏻🙏🏻

   This was our first trip to Charlotte to visit the Mint Museum and it made sense to have dinner at Mariposa since it's in the Mint. This is a restaurant that isn't afraid to turn up the heat. So many restaurants seem to add spices as an afterthought or just keep things nice and mild to not upset customers. Mariposa proudly proclaims that dishes should be both innovative and authentic and that includes an authentic level of heat. We started with Oysters Rockefeller which were perfectly cooked (oysters just barely warm) with a lovely topping of breadcrumbs spinach and butter. We also tried the Saffron Arancini - coated with a crispy dusting of activated charcoal and spiked with a spicy harissa tomato aioli. For mains we thoroughly enjoyed the Moroccan Pie and the Southeast Asian Street Tacos. The Moroccan Pie had wonderful spices without heat. The tacos had slices of chiles (Fresno?) which could be pulled out or kept, as you like. Our server, Carlos was engaging and a great resource for understanding the dishes. All in all a wonderful experience.

   Arancini was spicy and very nice. Enjoyed 2 creative twists on Osso Bucco (using lamb shank and cous cous) and Paella (w oysters). Kind of a Moroccan influence to traditional Iberian dishes.

   Lovely venue to enjoy Mother’s Day brunch. We enjoyed the pain perdu (French Toast) as well as the shrimp and polenta. Service was great- just the right amount of attention and did not feel rushed. The live jazz music added a special touch!

   There were problems with the kitchen that caused major delays for the entire restaurant, which was acknowledged by staff that came around to every table to apologize. It wasnt our server's fault, and he was great. Once we got our food, it was lukewarm (which isn't the best for egg dishes), but they were obviously in the weeds and it was still edible although I can't say enjoyable. We did tell our server after the fact. There was no offer to comp anything we ordered or offer for complimentary dessert or even our coffee. Despite all this, I didn't get miffed til I saw they did auto-gratuity for our party of three (insulting) and tacked on 3% for credit card processing. Processing credit cards is the cost of doing business. Restaurants have been using their customers to subsidize the cruddy wages they pay their staff for years, and this is just a new way to stick the customers with what should be their cost.

    Their food is creative! The restaurant is gorgeous. Beautifully presented entrees. And our service was really awesome.
