KICK is an amazing restaurant. They feature spice-influenced dishes and their ambiance reflects that of a volcano (open flame, ash and lava colors, molten wall) which adds to the overall experience. The food is delicious. You cannot go wrong with anything on their Brunch Menu, and their Dinner Menu also hits the spot. Try a green bloody mary (made with tomatillo) or any of their delicious appetizers to highlight your meal! You can't go wrong at Kick!

Kick has been a great spot for the family to gather for Sunday Brunch. Waitress is outstanding. We generally beat the crowd in, so difficult to assess noise level. Moderate amount of heat in most dishes, which you would expect with the name Kick. There are items on the menu for those with a "cooler" palate. an enjoyable experience with great food.

Slow (but friendly) service even though the place was almost empty on a Cubs Saturday night around 6pm. Food looked mushy and sloppy as plated. Not impressed.

I'm not a fan of spicy food, but I was able to find a few things on the brunch menu that would work for me. I chose the French Toast Crunch (coated with Cap'n Crunch!) that was just delicious! My boyfriend liked his spicy eggs benedict, and he took home some spicy mac 'n' cheese for later. Definitely a place we'd be glad to return to!

They don't call it "kick" for nothing! If you like spicy food, this is your place. Personally, I prefer some non-spicy food/drink for contrast. Tip: order the regular (not spicy) fries.

The food was ok. Nothing impressive. The service however was slow, even if there weren't that many people. I went there for brunch, I don't think I'm going back for brunch again but I would give it another chance for dinner since they have a very nice outside seating area (we couldn't enjoy it because it was raining).

We were able to sit outside on a balmy early summer evening. The drink menu was great and our service fabulous. We started with several appetizers. We had the ragin chicken roll which was very good. Just the right amount of spice. We also had the lettuce wraps, I liked the heat. The bacon ,gouda fries were yummy. Our entrees however were disappointing. I had the pork belly blt. There wasn't much meat on it and the bread was soggy. My friend had the hot fried chicken which she felt was just ok. However, the third party of our group had the noodle bowl and really enjoyed it. Our desert was awesome, it was the salted caramel cheesecake with caramelized bananas. Would recommend this place for nice outside dining, but stick to drinks, apps and desert.

Just found this restaurant while looking for a place to go for our weekly date night. I love spicy food so it seemed like the ideal choice. By far the ceviche was the best thing we had. Absolutely delicious and filling! The Burger was also awesome! Not too impressed with the steak wrap or fries. However - we will be back to explore the menu further!

Reheated dry biscuits with very, very bland sausage gravy....not what I would consider a good brunch item. Crab cake benedict was mediocre at best. Bloody mary was good. Server was very nice and attentive.

Once we were sat by the host, we waited for 10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge we were there. The staff kept passing us...and at one point the host and hostess just stared at us unsure as of what to do. It was super awkward. The food WAS really good! I will probably go back, but not because of the service.

Our waiter was very nice, friendly and attentive. I wanted to love this neighborhood spot, I really did, but I really didn't. The corn fritters were ok, but should have been more substantial so it wasn't greasy crunchy corn. I guess I just don't have it a taste for kick because I had asked if it was spicy and the waiter said the sauce was. It actually wasn't that spicy compared to the fritters. I asked if the fire fries were very spicy, he said not too spicy, but my friend and I both found them very spicy and even worse, lacking in flavor. Not just missing salt, the spice didn't seem to have flavor other than hot. The pitfire burger was fairly tasty but it was so spicy hard to tell how good the burger itself was. I do like food with a kick, as does my lunch-mate, however, this just seemed very hot. I also had asked the waiter about a few burgers and certainly would have expected a little warning.

We found Kick on a lark from Opentable and decided to give it a try. I'm not a huge fan of of overly hot spicy foods, but this was not Heat for Heat's sake. With interesting menu items and good flavor in every bite I'd certainly recommend Kick.

Service was very slow. We had 5 restaurant waiters/staff members merrily chatting behind our backs. None of them made an attempt to approach our table until 15 minutes after we settled down. That said, the place was literally empty for brunch. Food was ok, something that you can get in a neighborhood bar. Good ambiance.

I can handle spicy, but everything we ordered was way over the top. They need to find a balance of spicy on the plate. The menu is creative and the place interesting, but if you can't feel your tongue you can't enjoy yourself. Back off a bit chef!

Our first time, we stopped in on a Saturday night on-spec and were delighted to get a table. The staff are really friendly and attentive, but most importantly, have actually tried the dishes for themselves so are knowledgeable about the ingredients and level of 'kick'. Obviously the spiciness of the food is the theme here, but don't let that distract from the variety and quality on offer, and the cosy but modern feel of the decor. I had the Churrasco steak and it was delicious. The lettuce wraps packed a lot of heat, similar to Thai curry. Definitely a place we'll return to - it wasn't busy because it's fairly new and tucked away off Lincoln - I hope it gets busier and stays the course, but not so busy that I can't get a table, of course!

We had a group of 14 for brunch and this was a first visit the for all of us. Service was great and the food was delicious! The menu was not the typical brunch menu. We pretty much sampled the whole menu and no one was disappointed. They were agreeable to modifications of an item as requested. We ordered red velvet pancakes for the table and they were superb! Portions were big, only a few of us were able to finish. We also enjoyed the Bloody Marys- the special version had a real kick, those who love spicy were well rewarded. We will definitely return, especially for the red velvet pancakes!

Sola, the previous restaurant in this space, was fantastic. Thus, we may have had unrealistically high hopes for KICK. However, the food was a disappointment. It was, surprisingly, not very spicy. It was actually pretty bland. The menu is also pretty limited. At least it wasn't very expensive. The house cocktails we tried were fine, but nothing special. There are too many other really good restaurants in the city to justify ever returning here.

The food was great, but not worth the cost. We spent $110 (with tax and tip) for the wing app ($12 for 6 little wings), $15 for a burger, $23 for chimichurri steak, and $38 on drinks (2 signature drinks, a draft cider, and a coors light). I would say based on the size and quality of the items they should have been priced around 25% less. This was more of an $80-85 dinner, not $110. We will probably not be returning because the value just isn't there, which is unfortunate because the concept and food are good.
