What Insiders Are Saying
One of the best options for both Indian and a fine dining experience in the city.
Wonderful experience .... food was great (as always) ... excellent recommendations ....
desert on the house for my birthday 😍
Our waiter was great and informed on all of the dishes, helping me find the right drink and suggesting appetizers and main dishes that paired well.
raskia was a great experience! I had asked for specific seating and we got the perfect spot. Food was delicious.
Great dinner and a very knowledgeable server, Sarah.
I just love this place. You cannot bear it for fine Indian food.
Great restaurant and outstanding service. Very careful with allergies and gluten free options
Blackcod was cooked perfectly!
Great Indian Food in Penn Quarter. The fried spinach appetizer is outstanding. We also enjoyed the goat and tandoori chicken.
Best spot in DC
Rasika is one of our favorite restaurants for entertaining guests. The Indian fusion menu is very tasty and
not overly exotic and thus always pleases. The recommendations by the servers are always spot on. We are
delighted to be able to make reservations in advance, unlike at some other popular restaurants.
Love this place!
I asked for a red rose to my wife . Guess what? They were not able to provide a red rose for us .
This was the most amazing dining experience, from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service exceptional, and the food outstanding. Thank you!
The food was wonderfully fresh, flavorful and not nearly as oily as many other Indian restaurants.
I took some friends for a meal, one of whom had never had Indian food before, and he loved it.
We ordered the Cauliflower Bezule and another friend was still talking the next day about how he'd like to have more of it.
And the desserts were wonderful. The Gulab Jamun, Carrot Halwa and Kulfi were sublime: extremely tasty without being overly sweet.
If you like Indian food, you owe it to yourself to visit Rasika.
If you don't like Indian food, visit Rasika and you'll learn to like Indian food.
I can't keep track of how many times I have been to Rasika, but I can say that each and every time it has been fabulous! Service, food and ambiance -- all spectacular.
Need a special or nicer place for lunch, this is it. Of course the crispy spinach is not to be missed and I haven't found an entree that I haven't loved!
Rasika is an excellent "upscale" restaurant that is fine dining without being too expensive. The Palak Chaat is absolutely amazing and so is everything else. Definitely a great spot for a fancier bite to eat for a date or special occasion.
Overall a fantastic experience!!
The food is amazing, the service was good, only the waiter told us there would be a “break” between appetizers and entrees, where we were just sitting there waiting for more food. Shortly after it arrived, we all felt full-so maybe the break helped us realize how much food we had already eaten or our stomach was able to signal “no more food” resulting in no dessert or anything after.
Believe the hype! Outstanding food and service. Yum!
This was the best Indian food I’ve EVER had, and I lived in London for 2 1/2 years. Truly excellent in every way. Many thanks!
seated 20 min late. they offered a nice glass of champagne while we waited. food took a very long time. food tasting needs some variety added. same old dishes each time we come in. love the food but spice it up.
The food was delicious as usual and the service was attentive. We especially liked the Bhurani Gosht lamb dish and the Chicken Tikka Masala.
Best Indian food I’ve had ! Food was delicious and service was also great ! We had the crispy spinach , halibut curry, and lamb curry. All was phenomenal . There was a good amount of food for the price as well. The naan was also delicious . Drinks were also good I had a sparkling rose. I would come back and recommend this restaurant to anyone .
Meal and service were top notch
My husband and I love, love this restaurant. Romantic, food is excellent
Tried to get a table on many occasions to no avail. Finally, I was able to make a reservation. Was worth the wait. Rasika's dishes are unmistakably Indian but with an interesting interpretation, resulting in palatable dishes, with a surprising range of flavors in each bite.
TL;DR: White person's idea of 'great Indian food'.
Tried 5 different items from the menu and still struggling to understand what justifies Rasika's reputation in this city! One saving grace was the salmon in the mixed grill and the crab pepper masala - neither typically 'Indian' if I may add - the rest infused with mediocrity. Prices are alright, but the place is overhyped.
The service was on spot. Attentive, providing good insight into the menu. The food was delicious. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
Inventive menu perfectly prepared. Lovely service. A favorite spot.
Had a great meal and the best salmon in my life. The waitress was outstanding, the atmosphere was very nice. We would definitely return on our next trip.
Wonderful food, service and ambiance. The meal was delicious; everything from the baby spinach to the sorbets.
First time hosting a business dinner at Rasika ... wonderful experience! The food and service were top-notch as usual. Highly, highly recommend.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The server was very good. His recommended dishes were excellent. You made our special day more extremely special. Thank you.
Not expensive! $100 for 3 glasses of wine, an app, two entrees, and a side!
Perfect for my visiting parents 53rd wedding anniversary. Food was delicious and unique and the valet parking was very helpful in that part of town.
Read much about this place in the Post and we like occasional Indian. Turned out to be a bit of a disappointment after all the hype. The spinach bhaat appetizer was the highlight. Lamb dish was very average and wife's duck vindaloo was indistinguishable in the over powering tomato base.
Service, though polite, was not particularly timely or attentive.
First time at this location and will definitely be returning. Both service and food were excellent.
