Scallop dinner with rice and vegetables was very good. Other dinner was prime rib, but unfortunately, the prime rib was tough. side dish was mashed potatoes which was excellent. Ambience was fine and noise level was very low.

We chose The Heartline as the TripAdvisor highest rated American cuisine restaurant with an available 6:00 p.m. reservation when we visited Sedona on Valentine's Day. Our last minute decision limited our choices. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is nice. The staff and service were excellent. They have a nice wine list. My sole quibble: For this special day they adopted a prix fixe limited menu at an elevated price. The quibble goes more to the practice of the restaurant industry than to Heartline specifically. The practice allows the restaurant to turn their tables by serving assembly-line food. To that end a couple of observations. The service was a bit on the rushed side and I was called two days before my reservation and had to give all my credit card information in order to hold my reservation. As to the food, I'm confident the very good filet spent the day in a sous vide. The soup and salad were fine but of course they were all the same as every other diner received. For me the desert didn't not measure up to the rest of the meal. It had a real off-the-shelf feel. Bottom line - would I return - yes and I'll bet the regular menu is top notch and the service more relaxed.

The Atmosphere and Service was absolutely amazing and Great. However, the food was not impressive. My Girlfriend and I Both ordered a Ribeye steak Med Rare and mine was very good, cooked to perfection. Her’s, on the other hand was very tough, hard to cut. We thought maybe the knife wasn’t sharp enough but we traded knives and that wasn’t the problem. The salad served along with the meal left something to be desired as it was bland and no taste. Bombarded with nuts and cranberries yet no flavor. Desert was the worst part of the meal. Dry chocolate cake and Strawberry Cheesecake so tart that my taste buds went into shock. How the chef could put something out so un-edible is beyond me. It would seem the chef may have no taste buds left from eating his own food or none at all.

We were there for Christmas dinner. The best part of the dinner was the full pour of wine that was included in the price of the dinner. The salad was tasty. It was a price fixed menu which was limited in its offering but acceptable. Two of us ordered prime rib. It was so fatty, you could barely cut through it. It was inedible! One of us had the trout. It was dry and tasteless! One of us had the turkey dinner which was very mediocre at best! We were highly disappointed in our meal and will not return.

Kudos to the chef as all the food was really good. The restaurant is a dump. They only had 2.5 menus for our six top and the restaurant was half empty. Waitress seemed intoxicated, didn’t know the menu and acted odd in general complaining about how tired she was. Overall I feel bad for the chef who puts out good food but the front of the house and dated/tired dining room are bad enough to never go back.

Decent appetizers and soup, but the puttanesca was a major failure. We were told the chef wasn't feeling well and his father was helping, which is why the dish wasn't made right!! We just ordered off the menu, it wasn't a special order. Excuses dont fly for expensive dumb food.

The Heartline CafeResponded on December 5, 2019i found this review to be upsetting. you came in with 3 dogs and your friend. phyllis seated you on the patio which was closed but she wanted to accommodate you your friend and the dogs. she started the heat devices and even built a fire in the fire place. the puttanesca was sans artichokes. had you mentioned that to phyl another item of your choice would have been served. in any event we are sorry for the episode. what the server told you was not correct and he is being retrained.

Thanksgiving Dinner while camping In Sedona Good flavors, however at $233 for 3 people for Turkey, it seemed a bit expensive for the value. 30-40 a plate would be much more reasonable then 60 plus mandatory 18% tip. Plus they served us everything really really fast!

The Heartline CafeResponded on November 29, 2019happy you liked the food. thanksgiving always a tough day. we served over 225 people. we checked the finer restaurants in sedona. our pricing competitive and when you add the complimentary cocktail a bargain. there were several restaurants which charged more. everything thing we serve is organic hope this reply helps

$180 thanksgiving dinner for two!! I had a hair in my first plate so they brought me a new one. Food was nothing special, they clearly took advantage of out-of-towners by serving an overly priced dinner plate. The dessert was served in a small aluminum pie tin, it was supposed to be pumpkin cheesecake and was more like a runny pumpkin pudding. The atmosphere was anything but intimate, felt like a diner. The views advertised are non-existent, even on the patio. So disappointed in our experience. Service was marginal, took 10 min or so to even have a server approach us and all he wanted was our dinner order, we had to remind him that we also wanted a beverage. Wouldn’t go back here on a dare.

The Heartline CafeResponded on November 29, 2019sorry you were not happy with your visit. the executive chef checked the dish we picked up after you complained of a hair. it was a fiber from the sweet potato. everything on your plate was organic. we checked our pricing against the finer restaurants in sedona and we are competitive with those establishments. when you add the complimentary cocktail we are a bargain. there were quite a few in town that charged more. the dinner was 60 per person prix fixe plus tax and grat. patio was close

The Heartline CafeResponded on November 29, 2019interesting because we received several compliments on the desert. the soup is one of our signature items. as far as price we checked the finer restaurants in sedona and we were very competitive. in fact, even on the low side. several were much higher. lastly, our menu with price was posted on the open table site as well as others. Excellent all the way around! My rib eye was prepared exactly as I requested, the mashed potatoes were to die for, the sauteed veggies were nice and firm and everything was just seasoned to perfect for me. Not too salty and not OVER seasoned. Husband's trout was also cooked and seasoned perfectly for him. Same with the mashed potatoes and veggie medley. We had the house vinaigrette dressing on our dinner salads and it was just delicious with enough variety in the salad. House red wine was just right, the Myers rum hit Husband's spot, too. We both highly recommend the Creme Brule, too. Crunchy top, creamy custard and plenty for us two after such a delicious dinner. Our server (I can't remember his name, darn it), was just wonderful, engaging, on time, great suggestions, not over-bearing and just fun! P.S. It doesn't hurt that the chef that we could see looked like Aaron Rogers (Green Bay Packers QB) LOL! Excellent. I can't believe we waited 2-1/2 years to try this jewel of a restaurant in Sedona.

We ate at this restaurant several times during our stay in Sedona, AZ. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. First our server Juan was amazing and anticipated everything we needed and wanted. He even brought us a sampling of the sweet potato chips on our last visit and they were outstanding and still warm! He was quick to bring us more water and our food and just great to chat with as well. We also met Phyllis who was also great to talk with and found out we had some things in common in PA. And we had a really great server the first night of our visit who was very personable and friendly as well (my apologies with her name escaping me). Now the food! This first night I had the ribeye and it was prepared just right and had the perfect sauce with it. The plate was beautiful too! My husband had the filet and he enjoyed it as well. We started that night with the crab cake appetizer (very good plentiful dungeness crab) and the scallops (grilled on rosemary skewers). The second time we visited there we had the free range chicken with bacon and garlic and it had the most wonderful sauce with it. We actually had some chicken and steak left over which I ate for lunch another day and it was just as good!!!!! And my husband is still raving about the warm poached pear in puff pastry with cinnamon ice cream! All the food was wonderful and picturesque. And the chef prepared the most amazing sauces with everything. We did recommend this restaurant to other travelers and told them how wonderful the food and service was and we will definitely be back when we're in the area again.

The service was excellent but then there were not many people in the restaurant. The soup was good and the salads were OK. The trout had insufficient sauce and was smothered in way too many pecans. The ribeye steak was difficult to eat because it was so tough. Hard to cut even with a steak knife. The vegetables were nearly raw and without much flavor.
