Hate to give a 1 star review since we never actually got a chance to dine at Capdeville. My wife and I reserved a table at 7:30 on a Saturday and found the restaurant completely closed when we arrived - no sign saying why, just a locked door and no lights on. We received no notification from OpenTable or Capdeville about the closure but were able to run through the rain over to Meril's, which worked out well. Needless to say, we were very disappointed and confused by the lack of communication. Curious to hear what happened and whether Capdeville would have us back sometime.

We went there for the grilled cheese and tomato soup and they were out of not only that but half the items on the menu. And the waiter was grumpy as well

Our waiter kept forgetting us and another waiter helped us out a few times. Waiter forgot to put order in for appetizer so we never got it. We have eaten there previously but this was the worst.

This is just bad plain and simple. How is this a restaurant? Decor doesn’t make sense food should be a lot better. I usually don’t write reviews but I don’t want people to waste the money like I did. The hostess didn’t seem to have an idea what was going on and I asked for a high chair and they said all were being used I mean seriously? Did you even try to care ab customers? Drinks were ok at best food left a lot to be desired. Hopefully they do better.

So very disappointing. This used to be our go-to place for great food. Unfortunately, everything was off this time. From the cocktail having the wrong ingredients, to being out of an appetizer and waiting 10 minutes to be told it wasn't available. We then ordered the fried green tomato, avocado, creole tomato and shrimp stack only to be delivered a few slices of creole tomatoes with shrimp. Had trouble finding wait staff to inquire about the completeness of the order. We were then offered a bowl of chopped avocado to mix in with plate as sent. Never did receive the fried green tomatoes. The paneed chicken was over-cooked, to the point of the crust tasting burnt, the chicken was like rubber and neither one of us at the table could detect any of the lemon sauce. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. So sad, as we have been steady customers since 2011. It will be a while before we venture back in.

Had a very nice experience at Capdeville! The shrimp tacos are excellent, beet salad was great, my husband had the burger special which he was very pleased with!

Midweek lunch with two colleagues. Nice location off of main thoroughfares. Good food, service was very good, noise level started out good, then increased to slightly annoying.

The place has a great vibe, spot on service, and appealing look inside. The food, however, has fallen short. Oyster BLT featured barely any oysters. Fish taco were very dry and hardly any fish. I would recommend coming here for drinks and hanging out. Pass on the food.

For the life of me, I will never understand why they put green peas in their macaroni and cheese. We had to get three different orders from the kitchen before they finally quit putting green peas in their mac & cheese. They could save themselves a whole lot of trouble if they quit putting green peas in their mac & cheese. It is wrong on so many levels.

Capdeville has gone down in quality, not the same restaurant anymore. The portions were oddly sized and priced, and the service was lacking. Food also came out lukewarm.

We first ate at Capdeville almost five years ago, and enjoyed it so much that we went back on this trip to NOLA. Our server was surprised that we could remember everything we ate during our first visit! Capdeville didn't disappoint this time around. Excellent service, delicious food (pork chop highly recommended), and a fun vibe make Capdeville one of our top choices in New Orleans.

It was nice to have HH specials all day on Friday. Food was really underwhelming. My salad had very little on it and was really overdressed. My friend's jambalaya was TINY. I understand skimping on meat, but can you add a little rice? It looked like an appetizer. Won't be back for food.

Small but interesting menu. My steak and fries originally came with the steak cooked far beyond med-rare. But they handled it well, recooking the dish. The atmosphere was friendly as was the service. Noise could be a problem if the restaurant is full. Good place with many nice touches.

Overall really good experience. I am going back again this Friday taking my husband and introducing some friends to place. Truffle Mac and Cheese is delicious. We enjoyed The Shepherds pie, Cuban Sandwich, roasted Pear salad,and the grilled cheese.. Cocktails were First Class!

This place is very punk. We were afraid to order a steak, but it didn't disappoint. The music was VERY loud and by the end of the meal, we could barely hear each other and needed some quiet time. If you're wanting to laugh and be loud with a large group of friends, this is a great dive. The decor has some room for improvement, but it's comfortable. You won't feel out of place in shorts. Great drink specials!

We were coming in for a concert at the smoothie king center and wanted to have dinner before the concert. Traffic caused us to be 20 minutes late, but the staff still managed to have us out in time to make the concert and we never felt rushed or panicked. the food was great and the drinks were tasty. Thank-you to the staff for taking care of us and such prompt attentive service.

So disappointed! We used to love Capdeville! We had a terrible experience here tonight ... very slow service .. drinks were not refilled. Our grilled cheeses were cold and the cheese was hard, as if they had been sitting out for awhile. Someone at our table ordered the French onion soup ... there was no cheese on the soup (strange) and it was cold. We planned to hang out there and drink for awhile but our server took so long to come back to check on us we decided just to get the check and leave. No good.

Savannah was a great great waitress. I got the last ribeye of the day it was delicious! Over all the service was great a bit slow at times but can't complain about the overall dining experience.

I live Capedeville. Its very eclectic and great to people watch. The chef always has a surprise special on-deck which is always a-mazing. and the staff is very knowledgeable

Waitress was amazing!!! Very helpful and gave good advice. Food was great and everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. Only issue was it was a Sunday and they had a limited menu, we were fine with that, but didn't see it communicated while we were researching to go there.

Cool little joint, good music and decor, away from the frat- boy and visiting businessman fray of the Quarter. And a good respite from pure Louisiana fare. Pub- dishes complimented with those with local flavor. Nice beer list. Top service. Casual. I'll be back!

Thought it was odd a restaurant in NOLA didn't serve hurricanes. Our server recovered amazingly well and winged it. Fair variety of happy hour cocktails. Fish tacos were a bit on the soggy side.

Horrible service...20 minutes for first drinks and the place was empty...maybe 10 people all at the bar getting great service but the few tables all waited and waited for our drinks...food was decent and happy hour prices and menu weren't bad. Never got open table points after tell them twice...just shoddy service. I won't be back

Went in for New Years and the (pescatarian) food was great. Sociable and attentative but not annoying. I sat on my coat in the cushion bench seat, try to get a chair.

We dined New Year ' s Eve. Not only did they serve off of their regular menu, they also had a special New Year's Eve menu. Service was excellent . Food was very,very, good. One other thing, they were busy, but we never felt rushed. A very good vibe.
