My mother’s birthday
We enjoyed the excellent food and quiet atmoshere. Our friends found the oysters on the half shell to be perfectly prepared. We felt the same way about our shrimp cocktail. Meals were excellent. 3 of us had the filet mignonette perfectly prepared and the 4th had the scallops which she enjoyed. Dessert was outstanding...Appel strudel cheesecakes! We will be back.
This was my second time at the SouthPark Grill. Both events were great. The atmosphere is sophisticated. The menu is varied. The bar is a perfect meeting spot. I recommend you give it a try.
I had the Park Salad which is always excellent and the scallops which were quite good. I was a little disappointed that the menu has been changed and the French Dip sandwich is no longer available. The service was excellent as it has always been when I go there.
Have read many varied reviews so wasn't sure what to expect. WAs here over a year ago and was underwhelmed but decided to try it again. Service was wonderful. Our server was very attentive but not intrusive, something I appreciate. My husband and I had the prime rib. Cooked to perfection and while I personally would have preferred a bit more salt ( easy to remedy), it was wonderful. Also had a small salad which was quite good. I tasted my friend's salmon and loved it. Will be going back. Another plus is that the noise level is reasonable. We sat in a booth and could actually hear each other - another huge plus for this place.
Love this place. Will return again and again! Food, ambiance and service was top notch and always is!
Great choices of appetizers and main dishes. The restaurant is near the busy part of Southpark, but it’s on a quiet street and has a great outside dining area as well.
Very good venue for business lunch. Quiet table, efficient service and good food.
Southpark Grill did not disappoint in any way. I had the halibut and it was TO DIE FOR! My friend had the pork chop and said we are coming back here after one bite! Love, love love it. We will be back!
Straightforward food served by a knowledgeable waiter. Not cheap but reasonable value. Good option for date night, catch up with friends, etc.
Super meal served with comfort and care top of mind
Great food, great service, eclectic menu!
My only complaint is that we waited 25 minutes past our Open Table-confirmed lunch reservation time to be seated...We finally gave up and had to insist on sitting at the bar -- insist because the hostess was for some reason resistant to that idea.
After waiting about 20 minutes, with no sign of a clearing table, we told the hostess that we'd just sit at the bar. She demurred and said she'd circle the restaurant again to assess the table situation. She came back after a couple minutes to say in 5-10 minutes, she expected something to open up. We then said "NO really, it's okay -- we'll just sit at the bar." She hemmed and hawed and finally I had to insist that we sit at the freaking bar.
What is the deal here? Why would this restaurant show multiple 15 minute openings for tables-for-two all around our requested time (12.30pm) when they were basically fully booked? Or, if they accepted our reservation on Open Table, why would they let walk-ins take ALL the seats before we got there (on time)?
Once you get over those shenanigans, the food is quite good.
Sat outdoors for Sunday Brunch.
Very nice couple hours.
Great spot and one of our favorites. Incredible outdoor dining experience!
Great food! Great service! Our waiter, Brian, was wonderful. He was very patient, attentive and took his time explaining the menu. My favorite of the night: Truffle Salt Fries and a peach cobbler infused cheesecake.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Our waiter was fantastic and made suggestions that we really enjoyed. Our first visit, we will be back!
Taking some to Queens of Charlotte
Beautiful spot for Sunday brunch. Busy but not crowded, great buzz but not distractingly noisy (perhaps due to the high back banquette booths). Surprisingly though the service wasn’t top notch. Very friendly hostess, seated promptly, drink and food orders placed in a reasonable amount of time but the food came out sporadically and I wasn’t terribly impressed with recommended avocado toast. All that said though, I would certainly go back and recommend it to others. Overall a nice brunch; perhaps the kitchen staff was not in sync this particular Sunday morning.
I enjoy going to the SouthPark Grill: great ambiance, food, service. Unfortunately, the waiter who served us was not engaging or friendly. He just went thru the motions.
The staff at SouthPark Grill treated us wonderfully. The food was delicious (we had calamari, scallops and halibut) and the desserts were decadent.
I thought the brunch menu was limited and my eggs Benedict was very plain. Just paired with some plain hash browns it was disappointing for the price. We have enjoyed dinner there, but I would not recommend it for brunch. I expected more for a $45 bill for two which only included eggs, a entree salad and iced tea. Seems pricey and mediocre.
Not my first time and certainly won't be my last time to enjoy South Park Grill.
I can't say enough about our meal at SPG. The food and staff were amazing. My friend had the halibut and I had the scallops - both were fabulous and we finished the night with two housemade desserts. It was also 1/2 price rose bottle night which was a pleasant surprise. The vibe, decor, and energy of the place was exactly what my friend and I were looking for. It was the perfect girls night. I wish it hadn't have been raining or we could have sat on the beautiful patio. We will be back next back Sunday to check out the delicious brunch our server told us about.
My favorite spot in South Park. Once you try it you will likely feel the same.
They had a big group in the back so that could have been the issue, but our server just didn't quite get it. I'll give them another shot because it really is a good restaurant.
Food was delicious. Joe was an excellent waiter. Meal was nicely paced, but not rushed. All around excellent dining experience.
Great place for a business meal. Food very good and priced reasonable. Noise level is quiet enough that you can have a conversation with all the people at our table with out shouting.
Service was good, salmon was delicious; however, the overall experience was disappointing. Waitstaff brought the wrong salad for two of us and unfortunately it was the blandest Caesar salad imaginable. Food somewhat ordinary, didn’t justify price.
One of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte. Excellent service, food, and ambience. The high backed booths make it easy to have a private conversation! Highly recommend !
Great Sunday brunch. Awesome server named Matthew. We will definitely be back for more!!!
Celebrating sister's birthday with friends. We absolutely loved the decor, service and fabulous meal! Can't wait to go back!!
I would give it three and a half stars if that was an option. Our service was excellent-5 stars for service , the food was okay. We started with the brussel sprouts and they were awful. We were expecting roasted And they were tough and steamed. We get brussels at a lot of places and these are definitely the worst I’ve had in Charlotte. We ordered the chicken and the filet for our main entree. My husband said the filet was good, but nothing special. My chicken was good, but definitely nothing I’d return for. Lastly the truffle fries didn’t taste of truffle much at all, but just excessively greasy fries.
The blueberry cobbler was pretty good for dessert. Our bill was 125 for all of this and a couple drinks, so not horrible, but not worth the cost for the taste of the food. The ambiance is stuffy and too quiet. Overall, for all the good restaurant in Charlotte, I doubt we would return.
Classy, modern, sleek, friendly wait staff, delicious food with great visual appeal all make this a gem of a restaurant. We have been 4 times, and it is consistently fabulous!
Everything was great except the waiter... unattentive, not personable, never around. He should find another profession.
Though it was not very busy that night, we got a great booth that allows for conversation that does not disturb others. I sort of have a pet peeve about loud restaurants . The service was excellent and everyone liked their food. The lobster bites were great. We got halibut, salmon and a fillet. All were perfectly cooked. I ordered the Park salad with goat cheese and it was excellent. I would recommend.
I took five kids here ages 15-20 for my daughters birthday. We were appropriately dressed and were also appropriately quiet patrons as this is an upscale venue. I made the reservation for 6:00 on a Tuesday night and the place was mostly empty when we arrived, which was fine. Food was very good and service was expedient, however I felt like we were treated like we shouldn’t be there. I can’t quite describe it. I will give this restaurant another try at some point, but I was put off by the feeling of not being valued customers due to the younger ages my co-diners. I still left a 20% tip, however it would have been 30% had I felt like we were truly welcome there.
Third time we have been there with friends who also enjoyed it. Our waiter, Brian, was knowledgeable and fun. Great food and drinks.
Always consistently good food and service. Large booths are very comfortable and private.
This is my favorite restaurant right now.
