STIR is the perfect restaurant to sip a craft cocktail over a dozen oysters, enjoy a night out, or meet for lunch. Located in the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo complex, the restaurant is an open-air concept with a large, heated outdoor patio. We are open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

Great food starts with fresh, local ingredients. Our kitchen prepares everything from scratch, and our signature raw bar is stocked with fresh oysters and seasonal seafood.

STIR is famous for craft cocktails. We freeze and carve 300-pound blocks of artisanal ice in-house, age certain cocktails in oak barrels for richer flavors, and place others on draft for crispness and carbonation. The result: categorically elevated cocktails. Our passion for fine spirits also compels us to find and share rare bottles, many of which are extremely difficult to procure.

The server was outstanding. The atmosphere was wonderful for conversation. The food was tremendous. My wife got the shrimp and grits, I got the chicken caprese dish, and my friend got the salmon. All were very good. Will return again.

Unfortunately our food was substandard. The fish tacos used to be very good. Today the fish was overcooked and cold, fries cold too. We were told by our waitress, who was missing most of the meal, that she also had a large table in back of dining room, we were outside on patio which was very noisy from constant traffic, including multiple fire trucks rushing by. Not sure when I’ll be back

Food was excellent. Server was great. Hostess was rude. We were seated 25 min after our reservation despite there being open tables. When I asked if we could have one she said no and they would be with us in a few minutes. 15 min later I asked why we couldn’t have an open booth she said it’s against the policy bc the table wasn’t fully set (missing silverware). She turned her back to me and stared whispering with another hostess. The other hostess waited a few more minutes then eventually got silverware then seated us. Truly bizarre. I’ve never had a bad experience at STIR before. If this were my first visit I wouldn’t go back.

The menu has a wide variety of choices which is helpful when attending with a group. Our waiter was very helpful with his knowledge of the menu and with his suggestions.
